The first time I played MGS1, I knew basically everything about it from reviews and having played every other mainline game besides 4. It's incredibly novel to see what it looks like being played how I imagine the devs intended a first time experience to be. Fun thing the manual doesn't tell is you a cheeky strat to move while aiming your gun, when you hold down the aim button you tap (or hold i cant renember) the X button and you can fire while moving, makes ocelot a total wash.

Nah legit I’m glad I actually had a physical copy of the game cause I only just now found out there was a damn contact list?????? Also the way this game broke my mind and I only played it a few years ago is crazy, having to use cigs to expose lasers, and taking drugs to calm your nerves so you can shoot the sniper without sway, bruh I started wondering why all games didn’t just work so sensibly like MGS does. Plus that whole Psycho Mantis bit with switching the controller i think is something we all got like spoiled on but for years I knew about it cause of the spoil but I actually forgot when it came time to actually fight him and I was left dumb founded once again 😅
