Change the crankshaft position sensor too, 25$ from fcp euro. Saves getting stranded and walking home. And its a good idea to replace the voltage regulator on the back of the alternator - brushes wear out and the car shuts off at the end.

Hi. Greetings from Ireland. Thanks for this update. Very helpful. 2006 CLS55K 49000 miles.Rear left airshock was dropping a bit if left for few days. Friendly Merc clinic diagnosed faulty level sensor front right. He reset it saying it was probably seized linkage. I've tried to lubricate it. Car doesnt seem to drop anymore on the rear strut. I did the supercharger oil change. Notice slight difference in whine. Have gasket leak but nowhere near bad enough. Also did the intercooler pump update. Car has way more power. Old one was almost seized.. Excellent performance. Pulls like a train. Change that Valeo rad. Kind regards Keep videos coming

Sounds like your first year went really well. So either you did the minimum, or you bought the car in fantastic shape. I bought a 140k mile '04 that had quite a bit of deferred maintenance. All the little things add up quickly. Thanks for sharing

I have owned my e55 for 6 months now the car was in normal condition when I bought it I have only done maintenance twice but its horrible one time maintenance of e55 cost 5 times more than a normal car with inline 4 engine. Don’t even ask about the car parts first of all its really difficult to source good quality parts even if you find parts they are really expensive. Verdict if you are buying this as a weekend car and have decent income you should buy one else you shouldn’t consider it

Dude. I get 13L per 100km in town driving and down to 9L on the highway. With a full boot of luggage and two passengers I averaged 10.7L per 100km.
@WestVanGarage4 жыл бұрын
That's really good for an E55. Is where you drive mostly flat?
@Dipshtnick924 жыл бұрын
@@WestVanGarage yes mostly, on the 10.7 figure I was driving conservatively when I could but I managed 780km with fuel left to spare. That was one trip so mostly open road across country with some hills thrown in. Day to day around my region is 90% flat though. I have had it down to 9.2L but I was by myself, the figure was still dropping but climbed back up to normal once I got to the corners and hills before the beach. Regardless, with that much power and torque were getting good mileage

How did you like your e55 repairs wise?
@Dipshtnick92 Жыл бұрын
@Ace Race my car has relatively high mileage, I've done 50 thousand kms in it since I bought it and is now at 186000kms. I have done rear drive suaft coupling, steering angle sensor, and numerous services. I service the car/engine myself but because it is stock I get the repairs done by a Mercedes dealership. Gearbox and diff have been done too. All in all I think it's pretty good. It's had a few electrical issues along the way bit haven't bothered me so just living with them until time comes to sell. These include faulty door handle keyless entry buttons and electric bolster fuse blown

Hey I'm curious on how much you pay for insurance and which shop did the PPI? I'm looking into buying one (E55)
@WookieMonster014 жыл бұрын
I've had an E55 for a few years. I got my PPI done and my favorite MB dealer. Insurance is mostly cheap. Biggest expense is gas and maintenance. Either way, it's definitely cheaper if you DIY and even cheaper if you get parts at fcp euro. On it's worst year this car costed me around 6k but on average costs me 1500 per year. Now I have a well sorted, fast and reliable ride. Best car ever, you won't be disappointed.

@IAmLeutrimTopalli4 жыл бұрын
@@TheJhicks0506 why not? There was a 402k mile (643,000 km) E55 amg featured on Legit Street Cars and it performed beautifully. So again why isnt this the car for me with that kind of mileage? Considering the M113K is a really stout engine, I would convert the air suspension to coil overs, and would work on the car mostly my self. So please entertain me.
@TheJhicks05064 жыл бұрын
leutrim topalli if what you care about is a reliable, cheap to own car and you put that many km on it per year then it just isn’t right. If you don’t care about having to fix things often, go for it.
@IAmLeutrimTopalli4 жыл бұрын
@@TheJhicks0506 I mean, I still have my Jetta GLI. I could potentially keep it and have 2 cars just in case. I never said it was cheap and reliable, usually those things dont go together with a high performance car but I also think you’re overplaying the whole german engineering thing as if it’s going to need a major service every 5,000 miles. That’s seriously annoying because these cards don’t typically have that many problems aside from the major items. Water pump etc i could do my self along with tensioners.. it’s just annoying because people who dont know how to work on cars think everything is sooo expensive to fix
