Anyone else studying how to study rather than studying what they're supposed to? Edit: thanks for all the likes everyone :) If anyone is sitting the UCAT I made a video on how my friend scored in the 97th percentile!

Coming to medschool, I’ve realized the importance of self-pacing yourself. It’s really easy to compare yourself with other people (on how they’ve finished studying for something) but it really doesn’t matter. Everyone has a different way of absorbing materials. The key is actually not burning out yourself + staying mentally healthy and positive too! Strive on all of you who’s read this comment. One day it’ll all pay off🙏🤎

Thank you for this ❤️ I’m in 1st year medical school and sometimes I feel not competent enough compared to my colleagues but what you said is right, we’re all on our own journey at our own pace. All the best x

this is so trueee, I’m in my first year and used to compare myself to my friends and it’s just so unhealthy because I felt like what I was doing was never good enough which is not true !!

This video is obviously full of important information for studying, but definitely skills we can apply to out lives as well. 2:42 can so relate how we sometime spend so much time and effort listening to lectures online, only to realize that nothing has actually been absorbed😢 Though I’m only in my third year of med school, I think taking a further step to self-absorb information is really important to make things truly ours🙏🏻

Looking back, the best way I found of studying in med school was by practicing actively recalling the info, for example summarising notes into a few pages and then reciting those pages for each topic. That's essentially what I'm trying to do with my videos here also. Reciting may be slow at the start, but working at it daily you'll get INCREDIBLY fast 👌💪

I tried this before as Tsoony's style of studying kinda similar. It really works for me. Being confident of what you've learnt is important. Like for me... 2 weeks before, I should have covered all the tutorials and notes.

the best way i learn is by copy/pasting the lecture material in my notes because i have a caligraphic handwriting and the motor movements help me to remember the information. sounds good until you have to copy/paste 200 slide lectures in 9 subjects

Thank you for this video soony :) although in my part it's hard to study in advance bcos we always have exams everyday with so many chapters to cover. Writing notes, which btw the only way i can ace my exam, is so impossible now since theres limited time to do it. This is quite a big challenge for me since im not a fast learner. I wish my brain is a xerox machine though😧

Ummmm to anyone who came across this comment, hi. I just wanted to share my method which i did everything that i can to excel hahahahhahahahahha. Welp my results weren't the best before but I'm satisfied with my marks after i change my study method. To those who LOVE TO PROCRASTINATE (like me, lol) here is something that I can share. 1. I didnt study every day. There are days that I didnt study at all bcs kdrama is my privilege. So when I'm on the mood, I'll go through my lecture notes & look for those I need more explanation, & I just google it. 2. I made notes and upload it in my Google Drive, share it with my friends. Mainly not to help them, but its like putting a burden for me, so that I'll keep studying so that I can make a quality note. also keep up with the dateline so that I can finish revision on time. To make the notes, I went through quite a lot actually & that is the main thing that help me to understand the topic better. So what I did... 1. Read lecture notes once & write basic things from the LN into my notes 2. Hear my lecturer's lecture video & add in the additional info the Dr said 3. Find easy explanation video for the topic, it could be detailed explanation or short summary video of the topic in a duration of 15 mins. (this one is really useful for when you're close to final, just hear to them while eating or whatever) - also add the link to the note (easy reference) & add any additional info to my notes 4. If needed, I google anything I need to understand in detail, get the info only from trusted medical websites, bcs gurl you dont wanna waste your time just to get incomplete info. Then, whatever you google, just copy paste the explanation in the note or you can use your own word and site the website you referred to. The result until this far is just a note full of words. 5. LASTLY, editing process, add some finishing details, make tables (for you to understand better), add diagram and all. & i prefer to use my fav colour scheme, pastel pink & beige to lift up my mood while reading notes. & Voila, there it is. In case you're wondering... - I used Microsoft Words for my notes (its a bit hassle but I'm used to it) - I spent 2-3 hours to finish a note. So, usually I have around 30 lecture notes.... But all I can say, at the end of the month (i mean like a week before exam) my life is got much easier. I have good knowledge on the topic So for that time left before exam, usually I will do past year questions (from my seniors / from question bank textbooks, you can google them in pdfdrive.com) & do some discussion with my friends. So goodluck med fighters!
