So I challenged my property valuation this past year and got it reduced along with many others around me. Great, right? Now this year, my home has actually gone down in value while the land has gone up considerably in value. Any advice for how I can challenge the land valuation?

With repairs and maintenance also keeping alleys cut I wouldn't pay more than I see fit... Especially if I don't have any kids attending surrounding schools... That's why there are bonds.

I’m so sorry to interrupt, but that is false information. If you own a home on private property in the state of Florida and that private personal property is in NO WAY ASSOCITATED WITH AN ACT OF COMMERCE or profit producing activity….there is no tax due at all! Your shelter is not taxable. The exemption you are applying for it to separate your homestead from the peroration of your property that is operating in commerce. Start researching! Ask them to show what proof they have that a business is being operating on your property! All 50 states….your home is exempt from taxes!

That is my thought too, people are mad that their homes are worth more. But as always the media fails to communicate that property taxes will go up whether the home value goes up or down. Because at the end the budget will be created and the taxing entities will adjust the tax rate to collect the total revenue. They can't increase the total revenue by more than 3.5 percent than what they collected the previous year. They keep reporting on appraisals as if that alone determines the total tax bill.

Why does the guy filling a protest say "its too much money" when the tax rate has not even been set and so he doesnt even know how much his tax bill will increase or even decrease?
