Mel Robbins I have an excellent job working for a wonderful boss and board at a small school district that I graduated from. I get 7 weeks off every year (unpaid) but good pay. But... I've been drawn to something else. I'm getting bored with this job. No fulfillment. I want to help a certain group of people with health and wellness and life transition into adulthood. Am I crazy to want to leave this ideal job that I'm in?

I have wanted to start video's for 8 years, finally I found the courage and inspiration to start on my journey of discovery. I say this to myself every day now - By daring to start creating, you have already succeeded. be proud of all the numbers - even the tiny ones - we all have to start somewhere, don't wait to be at thousands to be proud, be proud every time someone clicks/likes/watches/subscribes... Mel has been, and continues to be a massive inspiration, guide & super supportive of us all.

THIS story about Eduardo was amazing!! The ability for people to put into motion and follow their dreams -the reality of retracting and pulling back when fear comes in - it can be so overwhelming when we have not seen someone else do it before us - envision your future, find people who are already doing it - if you feel the excitement and vibrations of joy - you are on t. e right path!

Mel, I am literally crying!!! So so so amazing& helpful 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️ I felt like I was taking off in 2019!!!2 sold out Carnegie halls, successful new CD release… and then Covid happened and I hit the wall! Since the first week of the lockdown, I started weekly little livestream concerts on my FB page, and still going strong 75 weeks later- my biggest issue is I feel like it all means nothing, and no matter how hard I try to get the industry to notice I am doing this, they have their blinders on!! I don’t know of any other classical pianist playing one different program a week live but I just can’t get pass the small lovely following and reach the “gate keepers” who can help me get to the higher levels!! Anyway….. thank you for this! Thank you so much for the reminder❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 can’t tell you how much I needed this! Love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I feel my soul pulling me forward: "Come along for a wild ride where the things you want explode out into the world from your inside." I feel the call to go and I want to join in, I can already see the fruits of my labour with great expectation, but somewhere within myself I resist. "I am not sure I am worthy of my wants" I insist. The friction builds between where I am and where I want to be, the cognitive distance drowns me. What is this fear of my soul becoming alive? Why do I starve the things that want to thrive? After careful consideration I concede. "I have got to give in to this great need." While I am in the act my soul sets on fire, burning ablaze, freeing my earthly desire. It's homeostasis, peace, and harmony, I feel these feelings quite markedly. But when I stop I wonder again if I am worthy of my want, After all, I know I am no great savant. And when I dig further I find the root: I have got to give these great expectations the boot. What if I give it my all and it adds up to nothing? My great embarrassment will lead to more than just blushing. On the public stage, I will shrink away cussing. But when I am in the act I feel so fine, and feeling fine is like catching a glimpse of the divine. So, I continue on following the call of my soul, because following that call is my only worthy goal. ... Hahaha, this is my primitive poetry inspired by this conversation. Thanks Mel!

Most of us hates our job, however decides to stick to it because they do not have any room to escape. Somebody said, one should save enough, how that's even possible when your family have the expenses and depanding on you to cover it.

this is great; however, if you still don't have the money to move to NYC or LA then there are other detours you'll have to take in order to get there, like maybe taking on a regular job to save up enough to go make that happen. I still haven't figured it out and have no family support or means or $ otherwise I'd have taken that leap already. I've been putting my voice out online and have connected with some amazing producers in the past 6 years, I know I'm supposed to not be in Maine (I was forced here when I was 20 and had no means) yet still able to attract the right opportunities. It's just a matter of time perhaps before I can make that big leap and finally be living where I'm meant to be; I feel so incredibly out of place in Maine and know I'm meant for more. The frustration of not knowing how to financially make that happen is exhausting and I often feel like giving up, I'll be 42 in January.

This type of advice comes from privileged people and is aimed at privileged people. If you have no financial safety net, you can't just 'quit your job' - it would be absolutely stupid to do that. It is also much harder to look for jobs when you're unemployed. Not to mention people with responsibilities like children etc.
