Wow, I went along with the guided portion and it was incredibly intense. It felt like a Reiki session and the heart opening effects of psilocybin. I was startled when we both said "Green" out loud at the same time 😅 this is one heck of a confirmation for my question the last few years, "Do I want to explore hypnotherapy and regression therapy." Nothings ever gotten so quickly to the core of my emotions, as I've got quite the armored shell over that center, but this cracked it wide open. THANK YOU.

I practice self hypnosis myself after going through hypnotherapy. It became part of my daily life for more than a year now and the changes have been breathtaking ... and they're not over yet. Still, it's nice to see how different hypnotherapist go on their practice of hypnosis. There are so many ways to access the subconscious via this technique that there is a lot of personal touch from the therapist. In any case, it's great work you did there and the people who watch this will get something good out of this video whether they want to go through hypnotherapy or not. The change between before and after in mandy is quite impressive by the way :)

Huh..I love in PSL also i been talking accredited courses on HT mastery & NLP Master Practitioner, & hypnosis is not as important as the actually therapy aspect done using a good NLP practitioner or CBT therapist in conjunction with hypnosis. Hypnosis in itself is just a relaxed state no different from the state of mind reached from a good meditator

I had a very bad hypno session. He told me when I crossed the threshold of his office the trance would break. We'd been talking to my 12 ye of inner child. The trance didn't break till I was 12 miles away from his office. So basically her sent a 12 yr old out driving my car it felt like. You sounds very safe. I sensed I would never trust this man when I went into his office. It was not a good experience.

His hypnosis put you in a trance. Do you have other issues? It is always easy to be negative and not trust someone specially if you have preconceived notions.

I attended the Live Session today. It was Good. Since I am trying to Cope up with Depression which was Diagnosed 10 years Ago due too much of Mental Stess, I attended this Live Session of Therapy to Overcome Depression. I was on Antidepressants for 6 months in the 2012 -2013. During this Phase I became extremely Violent & the Cause of my Father's Brain Hameorrage. This was in the year 2015. Now I feel like a Criminal. My Father behaved like a Depression Patient for 2 years. Me & My Family did take of Care of him. I feel Ashamed of My self for causing Brain Hameorrage to my Father & Misbehaving with him. It was the Worst Level of Anger that I Removed on my Father due to Side Effects of Antidepressants. It gives me a Feeling that I have Committed a Crime & makes me feel like a Criminal. I want to Overcome this Feeling of Criminal by using this Therapy. My Apologies if I sound Offensive through Live Chat or Comments Posted under the VLOG. Thankyou for this Session.

One question I have regarding hypnosis is that this seems to me like a visualization exercise of sorts. She was asked to imagine, for example, a staircase and a forest. How would a hypnotherapy session work for someone who has aphantasia and, as such, lacks a mind's eye and is unable to visualize such things?
@MikeFilemaker2 жыл бұрын
You can get the effects of those visualizations through other means... any good hypnotist is going to have techniques that work better for you, especially if you bring up your aphantasia beforehand.
@gavinbrooke Жыл бұрын
A good hypnotherapist engages all senses. If you noticed when she was in her enchanted forest, the hypnotherapist had her engage her sense of smell, touch, sight, sound, taste. You're more likely a kinesthetic thinker (touch), so before going to a hypnotherapist try visualizing all of your senses and see which ones come forth the strongest and share this with your hypnotist.

Could hypnotism be considered a mutual agreement to pretend?
@gavinbrooke Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. You and your therapist engage in a feedback loop of connection. When you pretend, you're engaging all of your senses and going into your subconscious to construct your reality. It's this engagement of the subconscious that opens the door to making changes within it.

I have had a couple different sessions with a couple different hypnotherapists that work the way you do and it literally just feels like a made-up story and I'm not really getting anything out of it other than I had a relaxing session. It's very frustrating as I would love for it to work.

@gavinbrooke Жыл бұрын
You're not wrong in your perception, however, in this made-up story, changes were being made in your subconscious. Your hang-up is in your analysis of it, because you are bringing forth expectations of what it would/should feel like. Thus analysis is what keeps you anchored to your disorted beliefs about yourself.
@cpan25528 ай бұрын
It is becsuse you don't believe. Probably too much analyzing in you head doesnt allow you to reach your subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy changed my life. Had a chronic pain in my wrist bone, poof it went away forever!

This seems very similar to the meditative/visualizations I did with John Bradshaw on PBS way back in the 1980’s/90’s I tried going along here with her but, although very relaxing, the visualization exercise didn’t seem to get me anywhere with where I’m at today. Maybe I need to look up some Bradshaw here on KZbin.

@@royalbloodedmutt Tons of five star reviews, I know. I didn’t leave one. I’m sure he helps some people but after I had some time to process, I realized he didn’t help me at all and I was out over a grand. I went to five sessions. His intake process includes a threat of legal action before the first appointment if you don’t cancel and don’t show, and he mentioned his lawyer defending his reputation from other “jealous” hypnotherapists. His daughter is in the business too. Full disclosure, turns out I had major depressive disorder at the time but hadn’t been diagnosed yet but I still felt his business is a little on the shady side. He is not a doctor. His approach is very new-agey, not evidence-based. He even teased me about one of the extremely sensitive things I shared with him.
