I used to have those tyepe of problems too... even my marriage ring my wife found my search and elimation and as ´punishment´ I made she go buy it with me. off corse I added a pair of extra trimmer rings just for the sake of the shine on her eyes, but you got the point... later on she kept doing this type of stuff... then I had to make he learn the lesson the hard way and one of her birthdays, for her to leran to stop trying to ruin my surprises, I gave her a epilator. She tried to figure it out so hard and was so suprised in all manners that now she just stop looking at my phone and computer 3 months prior to ´festive dates´...

To be fair, I bought myself a very large Staub dutch oven (same quality as Le Creuset) and it was over $500. It may just be cookware, but getting a super high quality piece is actually quite a nice treat if you enjoy cooking.
