I love John Danaher as much as the next guy, but we should stop saying that he was a "philosophy professor at Columbia." He wasn't. John was a graduate student in the philosophy department teaching intro level courses. I'm not bagging on that, by the way. But, he never received a PhD and never held a tenured or tenure-track position. He does have great pedagogy, but it's inaccurate to call him a professor.

I mean it's apples to apples. He taught at columbia in a professor's capacity. Intro or not, it's not a great exaggeration to say "he taught at columbia." What are people supposed to say, "Oh, John taught intro level undergraduate courses at columbia as a grad student?" They're not letting Joe schmo teach anything at Columbia, and if you know anything about John it's not an insane notion to believe he could have been a full fledged professor if he so desired. If you have also watched Ben Shapiro and his speech rhythm it mirrors that of Gordon Ryan. In my opinion they're both displaying aspects of autism / mild savant personalities. This gives them unique focus and detail retention that makes them incredibly able in their fields. Gordon clearly obsesses regarding understanding position and how to counter. Shapiro has immediate verbal and factual recall and his speech tempo can appear speeded up. Gordon also does this.
