I played in beta, and the third faction is really nice to play against as vanguard. First it feels super weird because the expand everywhere, but once you get the hang on it, its really fun to hunt for all the hidden expos while baerly holding on with some mech units at your own base

Why would anyone choose to play this over SC2 when they're craving for RTS? Had they made something exciting and innovative then I'd accept the crappy aesthetics of this game, but I've tried it, it got boring so fast, and it was very uninspiring. I hope Tasteless, Artosis and other content creators of RTS games put their eggs in other baskets too, because this will die fast. I'm more hopeful for ZeroSpace.

My biggest turn off for this game is that it has no character, what drew me as a kid to rts's was the role play as a commander. Being a hivemind as zerg, or a crusader in aoe, or a soviet super army in C&C. This game just feels like it's trying to be the league of legends of RTS, but with no substance behind the races.

@@FlokiTech That's just not true. The different sounds the units make (shoutout to Overlords), the way they look and behave all adds character. Brood War is full of it, Stormgate is not.

@@fast1nakus The two companies worked together on Warcraft before GW dropped out the project. SC being similar is almost a fk you to GW for that move. But at the end of the day both are derivative to Heinlein's Starship Troopers. And SC took 40k from a different game type. They made a Videogame, not a carbon copy tabletop game. So it plays and feels very different. Where SG is the same GAME and IP. What they should have ripped off and what i got excited for was Diablo in space - AKA DOOM the RTS, which would have been amazing. instead we get this braindead mess.

The game is somewhat fine, but it is dead behind the eyes. There is nothing here we haven't seen before, and in the end its just worse than SC2 in almost every aspect. We see the same problem with a lot of studios that are "brought to you by team that worked on X." Yeah perhaps they did, but they aren't the the whole deal, they are always missing the special sauce that really gels their team into lightening in a bottle. Desperate people trying to relive their heyday recreate their bygone ideas as a bland husk that limps up to you trying to be accepted, and all you can keep thinking is taking it behind the woodshed and putting it out its misery. The fact games like Human Resources didn't get funded but this Frankenstein Member Berries did is disgusting.

I agree. To me, this game, sadly, screams that the developers are still at Blizzard working on a 3:rd expansion for SC2. They probably have to unlearn what they learned at Blizzard to actually bring in anything that isn't completely derivative at best. Either that or, well, I was gonna say hire new lead designers but that won't happen for obvious reasons.

Good arcade, co op and custom modes etc u can monetize is the way to go so ppl can have more fun than work is what's needed. To much focus on 1v1 and especially esports means most likely wont last as long as want

Game is too ugly, too cartoony, just doesn't do it for me. Starcraft had some truly epic moments and it was serious in it's own right but this game is fully goof and I can't with the goof.. even compared to warcraft it's not even close..

i guess the rock paper scissors dynamic is tried and tested but still slightly disappointing that its basically terran, zerg, toss...not an sg hater. it feels really nice to play already when i did the beta week a few months back. i just kinda hope it is a bit far off but with all this info we keep getting it makes me worried its going to drop relatively soon and im nervous for them if thats the case because in its current state it is getting MOSTLY hate from non-pros content creators. and i dont agree with the hate but i definitely understand it.

This race is very unique and fun to play. From my experience it is much easier to play as than to play against since you can just spam bases and force the opponent to deal with it. That said their army is not very strong if you just attack move and ignore energy so it didn't feel IMBA at low/mid level of play.

I think one of the key changes needs to be....the morph core does NOT build the expansions (that comes from the ark ship). Then you can make a later tier upgrade that give that power back to the morph core. The problem right now is that the Celestials can simply expand too quickly, even when applying pressure. With this change, you have to commit your arcship to either economy or pressure, you can't have it all. Then later game you can allow the morph core the expansion power back to then open up the race at the time when the other races are getting their big toys.

Aa yes, a completely new race that has diamond-shaped buildings that has an area under it where you can build buildings, there's a small melee unit with swords for arms which you can upgrade for extra speed, a unit that can blink for offense or defense, a building that beams energy to fighting units in your base, an ability to recall units, spellcasters that has an area of effect damage ability...
