It also has cool functionality and offers and unobstructed view of the dash. On a road track it’s not as good but overall I like it . 3. The car was governed at 163mph but will now do ~172mpg gps verified since track update . The car can easily do 200mph in terms of power.

Damn I wonder if Roman is biased against Tesla. “Hey here’s the thing about Tesla I think is negative, what do you think about that?” You give every vehicle the benefit of the doubt except Tesla. Oh my you actually complimented the operating system, nice, I didn’t think you could actually admit there’s anything good about them.
@joemcdonough75092 жыл бұрын
Before you rush to judgement, watch their previous Tesla reviews. They actually buy the cars and live with them. Roman is a big fan of Tesla cars. Unlike other PR backed channels on KZbin, TFL buys a lot of their cars and gives us honest assessments.
@dustinstorey67792 жыл бұрын
@@joemcdonough7509 I’m not rushing to judgement, I watch this channel and I like it, they do a good job reviewing new vehicles and I know Roman has had Teslas. That being said everything I said is true, in this interview he started each question with a negative frame on whatever he was talking about. Except their operating system. Even talking about the speed he kinda blew it off and downplayed it as much as possible. He constantly goes out of his way to make as many negative points as possible and rarely gives them credit for the incredible innovation they are constantly implementing and continuously improving on.He pushes the same few negative narratives (some of which are true) without ever giving them the credit they have earned. Maybe years ago he had more good things to say but recently he’s about as one sided in discrediting Tesla as you can be without just lying. That’s not what I consider honest. I guess it’s good he’ll say their name unlike Mary Barra and our old ass President and he’s not flat out lying about him and being a total hypocrite like Senator Warren but I would think he could be a little more objective than what he has done for a considerable time. And I don’t think Tesla needs their help but it makes me question anyones intention when they are so obviously biased.
@joemcdonough75092 жыл бұрын
@@dustinstorey6779 Understood. Well you can ask me then if you want an unbiased opinion. I own a 2015 Model S, and have put 34,000 miles on it in 2 years. It has been extremely reliable, with only tires, wiper blades and a 12v battery done for maintenance. I've had the car in the shop a total of 4 times. Two of those times was was because of me (crashing into tree and breaking a door handle). The other 2 was the 12v battery and display panel free recall. The best features: Motor/Battery are absolutely perfect. I can still achieve 230 miles on this easily on a single charge, down from the 270 when new. 15% loss from a 7 year old battery is fair game in my opinion. The motor is silky silky smooth, silent and you can control the movement of the car down to centimeters by feather throttling, which makes parking in tight spots a cinch. Regen braking is a god send feature and allows me to drive 90% of my time without ever touching the brakes. That goes down to 80% in the winter due to cold weather. Home charging with the Tesla destination charger has been 100% reliable for 2 years straight and I pay roughly $70-80 a month to charge the car at home. Supercharging is 100% free for the life of the car because it is pre-2018. It can pump 75 miles in 15 min, 125 miles in 30 min. Autopilot Gen 1 is 97% perfection on highways for long distance travel. It literally can drive by itself, maintaining perfect distance and staying dead center in the lanes with just the touch of my finger on the wheel every 30-45 seconds. Cargo space: Trunk is huge with hatchback door and fold down seats. I easily can slide my bike in the back and go camping with a mattress overnight with camp mode for heat/electricity. Trunk also has additional storage bins on the side and a very large bin below the trunk, covered with a lid. Worst features: Build quality: Lots of rattles, creaking inside and poorly fit panels on the outside. This is a very common problem with Tesla and they obviously have little desire to fix it because even the new ones suffer from the same. Paint chips/dents easily: I have numerous rock chips all over the front hood. I have mysterious small dents on the side from the highway driving. Frameless doors: In the winter, frameless doors can struggle to pull down the window if there was a freezing rain over night. I have to be more gentle or pour warm water over the door tops. Interior missing features: No door cubbies, no map pockets, only 2 cup holders, center storage is useless. No coat hooks. Interior quality and seats: Overall, it is OK, but nothing luxurious. I came from a Lexus LS430 and that interior blows away the Tesla in terms of comfort, fit/finish, and making you feel like a king on the road.
@dustinstorey67792 жыл бұрын
@@joemcdonough7509 that seems very fair and consistent from everything I’ve heard and saw for myself. I think you emphasizing that what they do well is near perfect along with what they do subpar is a very balanced review. Stressing either without the other is what we see far too much depending on the way someone leans. I think Tesla is overall a good thing but as polarizing as it gets for sure.
@joemcdonough75092 жыл бұрын
@@dustinstorey6779 Yup I agree and I actually have no interest in the new Tesla's. I am aiming towards a CPO Mercedes EQS, 3 years down the road with an extended warranty. The EQS seems to contain a lot of the DNA that makes my Model S great while delivering superb build quality and ultra luxury comfort that I miss dearly from my LS430. Unfortunately Lexus has completely lost me with their aim for sporty over luxury intentions and no full electric vehicles at all.

Serious question. What are the benefits of full self drive? It seems to be a case of tech trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. I look at the Tesla product and do not see value in it, build quality after all these years is still terrible, in this video you can see panel lines not aligning and overall fit and finish is where the Korean brands were 15 years ago. Would I buy a Tesla, nope. Long term I don't think electric is the answer, Hydrogen is the way forward. All personal opinion of course.

Delivery times on plaid are December 2021.... so Tesla is saying that if you order one now, you'll get it in a week. Why would anyone pay $160k for a used one? It's a bit funny that Tesla's site now selects the upgraded wheels by default (and they're not cheap) on all of their models. Plaid's aftermarket wheels are $135,000. I hope this guy didn't pay over MSRP... because as I said, you can literally get these things new within weeks of ordering. Obviously Tesla is prioritizing their higher margin vehicles, which is a bit of a downer that many other established OEMs don't do. Some of their vehicles increase their already long wait times by an additional 2-4 months if you don't want any paid options like paint / wheels / FSD, etc. For example, if you order a model 3 SR+, the base trim with any paid option has a June delivery date. If you remove all paid options and just order the base car, delivery is October... 4 month difference. Musk made a big announcement to the media, aka a 'leaked' email, telling employees not to rush deliveries. He's realized that he can shift delivery times around in order to prioritize higher margin sales first, negating the need for the end of quarter production and delivery rush. Elon isn't a genius, he's a magician; constantly playing around with smoke and mirrors.
