What would be great is if once BeamNG has nearly finalized and refined their physics engine and AI enough, they should look to implement a racing sim type of mode. Completely unique and in-universe. Where you race different types of cars on different tracks and racing leagues, like F1, GT3, rally and more. This would give every other racing sim a run for their money, and solidify BeamNG as the simulator it is. I believe competition with the major players in the sim racing space will really put BeamNG in the spotlight.

I couldn't agree more. BeamNG already simulates basically every aspect of a car, which other racing sims can't do. If they would implement game modes like that it would force other games to adapt which would take time. If they did implement that they would have freeroam (with ai if wanted), softbody physics realistically implementing crashes, mechanical failures from pushing the car too hard, etc. No simulator game has freeroam and actual racing classes built into it to my knowledge without installing mods.

Mudrunner is not really a racing game. Sure, you can race, but mostly the game consists of deep mud paths that you have to crawl through. Great video as always though!

Snowrunner player here (the successor to mudrunner) I can definitely agree with this comment on most times, if anything it is a trucking game, but there are timed missions where you need to get to one place to another and that is kind of similar to timed races in Mario cart and stuff like that so it kinda is a racing game depending on what you define as a racing game.

What we need is not complicated, a nfs like with extremely realistic physics, realistic police, tdu map size, forza horizon/ gt7 graphics, beamng crash physics, tdu type progression system and midnight club customization! So a bit of everything into one game! That's my dream racing game!

Let's clarify one thing, Forza and Gran Turismo are NOT simulators. They're racing games with a physics model a bit more refined than most titles like Need for Speed, Test Drive and others. Also they're made to play with a controller, in a console system to make it acessible to everyone. Simulators are made to play with a FFB wheel and a set of pedals, at minimum.

Simulators like ACC, iRacing, AMS2 and even Rfactor 2 have controller support so what are you bugging about? All they need is to provide enough assists and steering filters and you're good to go. Though I agree that Forza and GT are refined arcade games.

@@kak8895 that's exactly the point...in real life you don't have steering assistances. And I don't see the point of playing iRacing, ACC or rFactor 2 with a controller, this games are not fun hahahaha, they're made to simulate real racing situations, while GT and Forza are made to entertain the most number of people. Simulators are not made to be accessible, unfortunately.

I don't think you're understanding the games enough. You're trying to uniformize every game is a very bad idea. If i get on Forza Horizon, it's to play on controller and put V12 on tiny cars and just roam around. If i'm playing Motorsport or Gran Turismo, i don't care about progression, i want racing with other people with reasonnable physics. If i want a simulator we have Assetto corsa, Iracing, Rfactor 2 and many more. TDU offers a unique experience yes. But i don't think it's enough to maintain a good playerbase.
