Thank you for getting to the point. Why do so many plant videos go on & on to where i can’t remember if I learned anything from them.

Thank you!!! I have many many plants but only one orchid so far and was not understanding what the longer videos were describing. You explained this part of the care/process perfectly. I think I will just leave mine until the stem itself needs to finally be removed but I am happy to finally confidently understand how to prune these if I ever want to try.

I threw away multiple orchids after the original blooms fell off b4 I realized that as long as the leaves are green and thriving, they will rebloom at least once a year. Now I have orchid fertilizer and I've had two different sets of blooms just this year alone! They are amazing plants. They make me think of one of my favorite songs by The White Stripes "blue orchid" and a viral clip of a guy on the news saying he bought Kobe Bryant an orchid🤣🤣

What is a node???
@designerpaper7 ай бұрын
The bump that separates the sections of the stem. It's where new buds or branches can grow from.

Can you root the stem that you cut off, in order to plant & grow another orchid?
@ExpeditionHomestead2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can!!

Well that’s great news! About long long does it take for the cutting to put out a new leaf, is it a slow process? Thank you SO much for this info, I have never heard it included on any video before.

So my orchid's flowers are dried up, shriveled and (I'm assuming) dead, but refuse to fall off. The leaves and roots are still green, but everything on the internet talks about AFTER the flowers fall off. Should I just cut them off, so the plant puts more energy into growing?

I have exactly the same question. And I didn't understand in this video how to determine where exactly should I cut the stem if I want the second blooming

Im a 67 year old female and I’m a firm believer that if you what a clear cut straight forward explanation, get it from a knowledgeable man. You are so right sir. I find that most of the round about videos on KZbin mostly come from over chatty females. Thank you❤
