When will the Mustang people accept the S650 was rejected by the market and the economy is just one factor of many? The reception of the styling it the #1 reason, IMO. Price bump is another. No notable performance improvement is another. Carry over chassis is another. Locked ECU is another. The economy has been a constant weakness for 4 years, sales suddenly slumping with the refresh can’t be blamed on the economy or inflation because both have sucked for some time now. The S650 is perceived as too much money for what it is for many reasons. It’s a flop and that can clearly be pinned on the car itself.

Screens aren't an issue when done correctly. The digital dash in the Premium S550 was perfect. Center console while not being anything fancy, it did its job well because it made sense. The new iteration just has screens without any attempt of actually integrating them into the interior in a sensible fashion.

The front of the S650 is too square and kind of truck looking in my opinion and the screen in the Dark Horse (the only one I looked at as my friend owns it) is an abomination. I know I'm biased but parking my '21 Mach 1 next to my friend's '24 Dark Horse there is no question which is the better looking car.

I hope they use the GTD styling in a more attainable mustang and throw those faux fog lights in those nostrils on a future mustang. The mach 1 is definitely a good mustang to pick up. For me it is two-fold. The screens in both the cluster and center stack. They control too much of the options like A/C, Stereo, Rear defrost with no knobs/switches. These screens have a shelf life and WILL eventually die. Which would kill the car’s drive ability. Second is the price fixing flatirons along with the high interest rates and insurance prices. All three are taking advantage of their ability to force everyone to eat the costs.

The sales were what they were due to Ford only producing 47k 2024 Mustangs. Can’t sell what Ford did not build. Comparing Mach E to Mustang sales is like trying to compare apples and oranges. A commuter car to an enthusiast car yeah the Mach E should outsell the Mustang every year by common sense. There are way more people using a car for commuting than the 5% of enthusiasts.

Prices are way too high. Just a bit more and you can have supercar performance with a C8. I actually got to drive both my mother got a 23’ convertible GT and my brother has ‘22 C8. I will say the Mustang was more fun especially with performance exhaust. The C8 is very serious about going fast. Also will add that the Ford dealership in Little Rock is absolutely terrible. The salesman didn’t even bother to come in to hand over keys. My 80 yr old mother got no tutorial on how to use all the screens. The car didn’t even have correct options. They screwed up the stripes on different Stang and used my mother’s stripes. Then they wouldn’t give real price till delivery day and jacked it up $4k. Never do business at Ford of Little Rock. $60k car and the maintenance guys showed us more about the car since once again the salesman didn’t bother to come back from 2-3 hr lunch.

I have a 2016 GT. I can’t get a newer 24+ model until they fix it. It’s hideous, they ruined the front end and the rear looks like it came from a Camaro parts bin. How they ever approved that hacked up front end I’ll never understand. The Dark Horse is probably the best of the lot. The GTD is great looking but untouchable by most people. They should have gone with the GTD front end treatment instead of what they ended up with. I don’t understand why everything has to be a bronco, truck or Mustang. Ford made many awesome cars during it’s existence. Why not bring back some of those cars. Nobody except mach e owners think it’s a Mustang and bringing 4 door mustangs or mustang trucks is just further bastardizing the Mustang name.

I have to agree with a lot of the comments about the screens. The giant ipad dash is so tacky, it would be a deal-breaker for me. Btw I own a Challenger Scat Pack but I'm a V8 muscle fan in general. I've thought about getting another car, but right now none of them are doing it right in my book. Dodge let me down with the terrible new Charger. Chevy discontinued the Camaro. I know the Mustang is the last option left, but I really don't like the ipad.

The main issue is that the car is untunable for a market that wants freedom in their car. The price is also a big issue. That said, the car is actually better. The performance pack car has a lot of GT 350 and GT 500 parts on it and it is more refined under the car. But again, this is a freedom car for working class people so customization and price are the main issues for this market. It's crazy to see that building a loaded GT for 2025 costs 66k

Not even watching the video just came to comment. Sales are horrible for a few reasons. 1st if all the car is too damn expensive. Every trim costs more than it is worth. We can thank democrats who run the Detroit unions for that. They all need to be paid $75\hr to sit in a chair and zip the same 4 bolts tight over and over again on assembly line. Next is the fact the car is OLD. So ford slapped a few screens in the interior and sharpened out off the edges of the exterior. Its the same car they have been building for well over a decade. 3rd, some bozos made the decision to drop the manual trans in the ecoboost model. Believe it or not there are still real men out there that like a manual trans and they may not be able to afford a v8. (Lets be honest, nobody actually wants the ecoboost). Last, no matter how much we complain, Ford refuses to put a proper Tremec trans in the GT. We get that shit box MT82 unless you spend retarded money and move up to the mach 1 or now dark horse. Ford is a victim of their own decisions. Its not the consumers fault.

Get rid of the laptops on the dashboard. Lower the price. Offer a manual transmission in the Ecoboost. I owned 4 S550 mustangs. Loved them! Will not pay dang near 60k for a nicely equipped GT. Too much tech jacked the price up. I just want nice exhaust sound, manual transmission and that's all. Save the tech for the office or the smartphone.

Before I was taken out by commercial vehicle, I had a fully optioned out 21 Shadow Black, GT Premium. OTD price was similar to the MSRP of a BASE 2024-2025 GT 💀😂 Ford has to bring the Mustang pricing down, it's not a Shelby. In no way shape or form should an optioned out 2024 GT/DH cost as much as an S550 Shelby GT350. Hell, even the S550 GT500 is in a similar ballpark as the new Dark Horse.. Which let me remind you, it's just the replacement for the Mach1 which I'd also rather have.

A fully loaded gt is about the price of an m2 or an m340i BMW with the b58 inline 6 and those cars are tunable NOW. Along with that, you get a much nicer interior to boot. Or you could get a used gt350. That said, I'm keeping the mustangs I have and crossing my fingers Ford does something with the pricing and tunability of this car, or else it'll suffer the same fate the camaro and the dodge cousins did

At some point the v8 will be gone. I doubt we will have them 10 years from now unfortunately. Ford has tonoay the government a big fee just to produce and sell the v8’s. They add cylinder deactivation and other crap people hate in order to boost mpg in an effort to minimize the fines and fees from the government but then people don’t want to buy them.

Here in Europe, or at least in my market in Switzerland, you don't have that much choice for that kind of powertrain, HP and style. My S550 GT in 2015 was CHF 51K (the new 2024 GT starts at CHF 66K). I got my DH Premium (no handling pack in Europe) for CHF 49K (CHF 78K minus my S550 GT for CHF 29K). If you compare to other cars within more or less the same category like a BMW M2 or an Audi RS3 you are CHF 28K higher for the M2 and CHF 18K over with the RS3, both without options. The quality is a probably different but do you want to put down 20 K to 30 K more that is the question. So the Mustang stays "affordable" and people buying these here are mostly enthousiasts , and will put the money to get one most of the time (european sales numbers are not that huge for the size of the market, they vary from 4K units to 15K since 2015, depending on the year) Inflation plays a role but the overall economics around environmental norms etc. probably too as they need to redistribute costs/fines to the models which are well over the norms, which increases the prices as well.

It’s SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a Dark Horse. And quickly goes up to SEVENTY-FIVE. Remember the golden age of Supras and 300zx turbos? Yeah price killed those cars too. This platform is ancient and not at all blessed with expensive hardware. The only reason Mustang beat the Camaro is it had windows to see out of.

@@Red5oh Oh 100 percent. It's lighter, roof comes off, is more exotic, won't rust, is quicker, and not really a lot less practical. Id be very tempted to get the convertible though, because then you keep the trunk space if you put the top down. :)

2023 model was better looking. The 2024 dashboard and instrumentation is stupidly ugly. The 2024 got rid of the manual transmission with the Ecoboost. The 2024 is also stupidly overpriced. It’s a fail in every way.

It’s time for Ford to reinvent the Mustang! It’s too big heavy and overly digital. Toyota had a good idea with the Camry making it more intuitive and simple to drive without overly distracting screen functionality. I would love to see a smaller lighter more nimble Mustang. The first one weight about 2500lbs! Plus it was intended for the middle class working dudes! These new GT Mustangs are $50k+. Plus not that much fun to drive. Go lighter and smaller more like a sports car. Look at the BMW 230 rear wheel drive coupe. Copy that with a Coyote V8 and a turbo 4. Two choices and watch sales increase. Price them better. $35-$$45k

Paying a lot more as trade in value will be very low and you will probably have to pay $20-30k with your car. So you end up giving away your car and paying more $$$ to get be the same car! Crazy to trade yours for anew one! Keep it.

@ - totally agree that’s why I haven’t got another one! I sold mine to Carmax because I wanted a lighter more nimble smaller sports car. Got the 2023 Miata RF GT manual. Used for fun! Got a new 2025 Hybrid Camry SE as my daily driver. I still like the Mustang but it’s just too big for my taste and impractical for a daily. The Camry drives nice and gets 45MPG on regular! Looks better outside and inside. I think the Camry is the best value as a daily. Price was $35k. Not $50-$55k. Save thousands and you have a reliable comfortable smooth riding affordable vehicle.

I love the 'Stang, however this new generation I just can't get behind... I know for me it's been the way the back of the car is designed... For the "real" mustang to look like the (cough*) Mach-e... I just can't get behind that.... BOOOOO FORD on that design decision!!!
