In my opinion you don't want to be seduced by large dividends, best to concentrate on the total run, there's no point in collecting large dividends if your overall investment is going down. However I'd say JPEQ, SCHD, QQQ and IWMI, I put down 250k to ETFs, I've come to see the market is always worthwhile when you k ow what you're doing. It was this time last year I made a huge breakthrough with $100k, handed it to a remarkable adviser, I'm positive I'd hit the million mark this first quarter.

25k in schd will not beat your full time job. It doesn't even pay min wage. Unless they are talking about future payments like 20 years later or your retirement. I suppose anything you put now will work towards your retirement full time job. If you want it too beat your full time min wage job right now, try having $875k invested in schd.

As he mentions, SCHD is not a growth ETF. If you’re looking for a high risk/reward ETF to beat SPY, then go with SCHG. SCHD is great to create a defensive balance in your portfolio while providing you with a very healthy growth (given its class) and consistent dividend yielding.
