@@vaclaimsacademy I am so computer illiterate. Not sure how to “hire” you? I am older Vet with TERA connection. This VA/VHS should not be so adverse against older Vets. We are dying daily from toxic exposures. Throw away Veterans.

I used a vso to file my claim but I got educated watching videos like this and definitely knew more than she did but she was very helpful. I've been out for 25 years and filed 15 conditions. I had Nexus letters, current diagnosis, and personal statements for all conditions. My claim took 5 months and I was service connected for everything and got a 90% rating! I should be at 100% but a mistake was made so I did a high-level review. The HLR took 3 months and a duty to assist error was found and they scheduled me for a C&P exam 4 days ago. Now I'm waiting for the results of that

Nice Mike! 15 conditions, 5 months, you filed a well organized claim, a perfect example for this video

I used a company in Chula Vista without information. They wanted all my info to logon so that why could take 33% of my claim. I don’t give it to them. They sent me the steps to submit my claim (which sucked) and I did. They sent me emails for 6 months about paying them knowing that I got 40% and eventually I told them to explain to a judge why they deserve my money and they left me alone. On another note I am at 70 now and haven’t utilized any of your videos yet but I have left a lot of money on the table out of pride and ignorance. I’m realizing it now that I could have gone for this years ago. Thanks for putting this out. The personal statement is huge.

I used a VSO only ONCE! I did exactly what you described and she did absolutely NOTHING for me. Afterwards I started doing fully developed claims on my own and increased my disability by myself.

Awesome. I won't use a VSO. Twice they have talked down to me as if I just wanted money. Even telling me that I wouldn't get more than 50% for my back.. I left and did the paperwork myself. I received 70%, doing it myself. Gotta have good proof and current diagnosis.

Hello Jordan I just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you for posting this video. Right now I feel like I am just starting to learn to read. I need more info on what I should be doing to help myself, Win the decision. I used a VSO and I am currently at 30 percent. Hopefully, you have a how to get get started Video of the dues and don'ts. You mention a Nexus letter. What is that, or How do I get one. If I sound uncertain it's because I don't understand this system to get my point across. Any help is appreciated. Again thank you.

Great point George, it can feel like learning a whole new language at first, just keep learning little by little and all of a sudden the big picture will just click. A nexus letter is a fancy term for what is basically a doctors note saying your condition could be caused by your military service somehow. I’ll go ahead and make a masterclass all on nexus letters and their importance for winning service connection. Stay immersed, don’t worry about learning everything super fast, it WILL all click

So if I was rated 0% (service connected) for sleep apnea (I use a CPAP), I will get my new CPAP next month, can I refile for sleep apnea again. It's pretty bad too. But I went to the VA today to get paperwork for my files and ranking to the Attendant on getting a NEXUS letter she stated "that would be hard to get" (trying secondary to PTSD) What can I do
@vaclaimsacademy2 ай бұрын
Hmm, I think getting a note saying you need the CPAP would do. I think right now the VA is contending that you were issued the CPAP but don’t “need” it. So if you can provide medical evidence to the contrary, that could do the trick

I have a question my husband is a VA he had a massive stroke last year and he is a wheelchair bound and we live at adult foster this march until now because we can’t afford to pay the HOA . We are planning to rent an apartment next year April. Can they help us about the rent ? We call the VSO last month because some people say that my husband can get benefits opportunately his not qualified. I hope you will answer my question. Have a wonderful day

This is true lol... I talked to a VSO and filed 2-3 claims. Following day I saw 12 listed 😂😂😂 most were denied because the claims added didn't have solid diagnosis and/or nexus. Most were okay but were not ripe enough for the picking😂

I got service connected 50 % for headaches. 10 % for tinnitus. I take medication for depression but I’m not service connected. Should I file a secondary claim for depression and anxiety connected to my headaches ?

I served on the USS NIMITZ CVN-68 IN 1995-1997 mos: ABE and did launch and recovery. In april 1996 a f14 jet came in and caught the arresting gear cable to stop well that cable was my job and that cable broke and cut my shipmate in half and majorly injured 4 other shipmates. Im trying to claim ptsd and tinnitus and i got diagnosed currently with ptsd chronic and MDD recurrent with other stuff and i yet to get tinnitus. I have not been service connected and dont know why. I wvent got a letter validating ptsd and mdd from the va head psychiatrist Doctor
@patg34242 ай бұрын
I served on the Willamette and Cimarron 87-91 and it took me until last year to get tinnitus. I got Buddy letters and submitted pictures of where I worked to get approved. Va automatically denies claim that are over 20 years old so you have to submit more direct evidence or appeal to the BVA.
@jonathanford93072 ай бұрын
Not all VSO personnel are like this. Most give good advice and tell you not to stack claims. But to do each one at a time.

I don't have a doctor and don't go to the doctors often because of cost so how would I get a nexus letter?
@JessicaR-CSM2 ай бұрын
You can get a nexus letter from a private doctor or an Independent Providers. You can also look for reputable companies within your state who specialize in writing nexus letters, but this will require out-of-pocket costs.

I only use my VSO just to send my documents and for him to tell me what the examiner wrote in the dbq 3 weeks after the C&P exam. I fill out my own statements and get my own medical evidence etc.

question. i deployed in 2017 and never went to the VA, however i went to a chiropractor 2 months after deployment and have 3 years of documentation. do i still need a nexus? i got out in 2022 and just found out alot of this now
@vaclaimsacademy2 ай бұрын
To really feel good about my odds as winning, I would submit a nexus letter. But if the cost or effort is prohibitive, it’s definitely winnable without one, just more of a coin flip. Definitely fill in the gaps with a personal statement saying how you hurt it
@redohe95082 ай бұрын
Be careful of wily cp examiners. I wasn't able to finish explaining my answers and another different area that really confused me by the time I left. I should have gone in there like I was mad and didn't care what she asked and just told my problems and how they have gotten worse with tripled dosage and 2 additional medications.

You know what’s sort of funny about that too? The only claims that a lawyer can take to the appeals courts and get that juicy 30% of backdated pay are DENIED claims. Bit of an odd incentive structure, eh?
