When it's time to go car shopping it can be an overwhelming experience because of the endless amount of choices available. I myself was in this situation not too long ago when it was time for me to purchase a new family car for my wife without breaking the bank. I decided to go with the 2019 Mazda CX-5 which left many asking me why. So today I'll explain why I decided to go with the Mazda CX-5 instead of other family vehicles out there like the Honda CRV, Subaru Forester and Toyota Rav4.

So here's my first real attempt at reviewing a car. Let me know what you guys think and if I should continue making more videos like this. *And yes the way I pronounced Forester was kind of odd, but oh well :)*

Vehicle Virals Bro, haven’t even watch the video, but a Mazda CX5 or CX9, the only cheap they might have is the base models on both, which is the “Sport”, And of course, the price on it. Other than that, they look more expensive than what they really are, and they are both great SUVs. I’ve had both and had to trade them in due to moving circumstances, unfortunately. Congrats, cause you gave your wife a really good SUV. BTW, both Grand Tourings are even more amazing. I wish I could kept mine.

This man has great taste. As a former owner of Cadillacs (junk), I love my Mazdas. However, there are problems. First problem, I saved $52,000 when I didn't buy the Caddy. Both cars had all the gadgets. What do I do with all this money? Next, I never need service except for an oil change and I miss my dealer. With the red paint on the Mazda, I never have to wax it. My waxes are collecting dust. Oh, my CTS Cadillac was in the shop 24 times in 3 years.

Nothing cheap about a 2019 Mazda CX5. It is a truly amazing and fun driving SUV with advanced technology complemented with many luxuries which are, for the most part, normally associated with high-end brands. And, you have excellent quality, lasting reliability and a very positive resale value; so you made a great purchase!

As a Mazda Sales Person, thank you for your continued loyolty to Mazda. Your review was pretty accurate. Im a bit surprised you think the tires are noisy, the CX-5 has the quietest interior cabin noise out of its competitors. I dont reccomend testing the smart break support thats dangerous! Lol. It is pretty impressive when it activates though. I like your feedback on auto hold. Just so you know every car 2019 or above will have that, back up camera, and bluetooth, are now goverment mandated (at least in the US). I appreciate all your kind remarks on the interior of the car. Touring is the sweet spot for the CX5. Especially if you get the premium package added on. In my 18 CX5 Touring I use some/all of those extra features every single day (moonroof, upgraded BOSE, heated seats, power lift gate, etc). The only minor things I miss from the Grand Touring trim are power adjustments for front passenger seat and HUD. Those are pretty minor things! Of course since 2018 they've gone on to add things like turbo and folding mirrors... Mazda is always pushing higher!

"With a wall"???!!! No my friend. Just get a cardboard cut out of the back of a car. Definitely don't try the automatic breaking with a wall esp. with you and your wife in it. Cardboard cut out should be fine.

it works... i covered the brakes with my foot.... and tried it. i would never depend on it. This car seems to be one of the last steps before self driving cars

Just a suggestion, you can use empty cardboard boxes and stack them up to test the braking feature.

I've had the auto brake feature activate once. It scared the crap out of me. I would be okay if it didn't activate again. The sensitivity of that system can be adjusted too.... just like the BSM settings....

Great video. I just recently started looking to purchase this vehicle and you hit the nail on the head about the plastic on the control panel. Every used car has that piece covered in scratches. Not to mention being aware of residue when cleaning it. Overall beautiful interior but that’s one of my biggest gripes with the vehicle.

I bought a 2013 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD. I am an RN living in upstate SC and sometimes we have bad weather and I HAVE to be able to get to work. This car has all the bells and whistles available at that time. This is an awesome car. Great performance, comfortable ride and dependability you can’t surpass. I have no issues with this car. Very happy I chose this car. I hope your family enjoys yours as much as I have! 👍 BTW, I bought it new, January 2013. No problems, no complaints.

We bought 2 CX-5s, both the mid-level Touring model. Both used, one with 2 thousand miles and one with 10 thousand miles. The Kia Niro hybrid would save fuel, with less fun to drive and maybe less reliability. I found the Subaru Crosstrek had better braking feel, and the CX-5 has better steering feel and more power from a stoplight. The Hyundai Tucson seemed good, however the April issue of Consumer Reports magazine at a library every year shows reliability problems and owner satisfaction issues. The Toyota RAV-4 and Honda CR-V did not steer as well, and cost more. To me, their looks are not as good as the CX-5, Crosstrek, and Tucson.

I rented the Tucson when I was in Maine last Fall and I wasn't impressed. Noisy... unrefined... low rent interior. Underpowered. I will take my CX5 over that anyday.....

Its refreshing to someone actually buying and commenting on a build based on their needs. Every reviewer ends up getting specced out cars because they're sponsored and want to sell the fully loaded trims. Might just end up getting this exact spec bc this guy is sincere

The CX5 interior rivals Audi and I feel the CX5 will be more reliable and cheaper to maintain in long term. Mazda is going upmarket and it's not ludicrous by any means to put the CX5 and the relevant Audi class competitor in the same sentence.

Lol, same here at a campsite, I was just going to run up to the arm and wait for it to open, my car decided I was going to fast...it took a few seconds for me to realize what happen. Kind of impressive though in that the arm wasn't all that substantial but the car recognized it and stopped.
