I think people severely underestimate the capability of cross-overs. I have a 2008 FWD RAV4 and I spend quite a bit of time outdoors, and I've never gotten stuck or damaged anything off-road. Of course, if you want to drive up a mountain out west, a traditional 4x4 will be a better choice, but if you're a normal camper/hiker/hunter/fisherman/mountain-biker you'll be just fine in a RAV4.

This is the most formidable overlanding vehicle I’ve ever owned. I sold off all my Tundra accessories and decked out my RAV4 and now use this to overland with. It’s more capable and does far more than a truck can do. I’ve driven it 4800 miles so far since buying new in December and am currently in Utah on trip from Texas for two weeks.

The RAV 4 has come a long way. Those early ones had good engines and transmissions but they were small and had some handling problems. This is about 1000% better. I would still go for a 4 Runner but I might be persuaded to take a closer look at one of these.

@@danielmeador1991 might wanna show your dealer the VIN. An engine leaking coolant or oil because of a manufacturing defect might risk stalling the engine if it was part of that production batch. But if yours was of the later batch, should be OK.

I like the older style RAV when the full size spare tire was mounted on the outside and you had that extra space under the rear storage area...made it great for a camping family. Toyota needs to bring back the 3.5 V6 in the RAV's

I must say, I have this car and I do LOVE it. Feels like a genuine toyota, reliable, sturdy, and fun to drive. I've had 4-runners, sequoias, highlanders, and even a land cruiser and my RAV4 goes right along with hoe reliable they all still are. Still have 2 4-runners and the land cruiser and we are a full toyota family.

I recently bought the Rav4 TRD 2021 new in white for my wife and we absolutely love it. It is a 29.1 mpg in a utility vehicle, it is really great on gas and best as a cross country camping vehicle.

My main gripe with these smaller SUV’s was the 1500lbs towing capacity, the same as my Honda Civic. 3500lbs is perfect for myself and the average person needs. I’m definitely going to have to check one of these out. Thanks for the review Scotty!

I was looking at one of these today. It appears, per Scotty, they have the bugs worked out if the 8 speed transmission. Much better mileage than the Tacoma and the Sienna. It will make a decent commuting car with utility.

And you'll save even more money by not buying extra cars you don't need. Or the opposite. I think in general, people who rent luxury cars don't really care about money.

I had a 1997 Toy RAV4 4WD with the 4cyl and manual trans. I loved it. It drove as easy as an automatic. It drove so well I never HAD to use the 4WD. I did take it offroad in 4WD every month to lube the transaxle

Never seen one of these in the wild, and I live on the edge of the wild, 11,000+ peak in my back yard. This thing looks great. We run an MDX and a CR-V. I like the CR-V 2nd gen. Hate later gens. This Rav 4 looks great. The CR-V can handle off road slightly better than a civic... but... its not an off road vehicle. Wish they did this with the CR-V! Nice looking vehicle, and great idea!

Thanks scotty. However what i would like to know concerning this new Rav4 TRD is a few things: 1 , is the Power steering Electrical and how is the unit built? is it Plastic or Metal? Is it in a good location? What about the oil filter ? is it a canister type or regular screw on. How easy is it to service and say change a lightbulb etc. You mentioned special tyres, How expensive are they? Does it have a transmission dipstick to check oil levels or do you need a computer etc. The usual things you would tell us to check for when purchasing a vehicle since we don't want to spend bad money.

I had RAV4 2018, then I traded it in for 2020 model. The drives are not the most comfortable.. you do get noticeable cabin noise. But if you can live with that, it’s a beauty.. with all the sensors, driving assists, space and road presence.. I got the premium XLE trim and would highly recommend this car if you are looking for one.

I got a 2020 Rav4 Hybrid for 5 months right now. Yep purchased on January 2020. The meter is shown that I am getting 48.9 MPG ^_^ Just loveeee it

Have they fixed the fuel pump issue on all of these, and the gas tank issues on the hybrid? Once they fix those issues I would highly consider one.

We are just received today our Toyota RAV4 2020 premium, AWD 2.0, max possible complectation in Ukraine we don’t have TRD, and sun roofs, but we are so happy you actually have same year Toyota RAV4! Cuz it mean, we invested our money well :) so far we are super happy with car and it’s amazing looking! But will be interesting to see more videos about it on your channel ^_^

I bought a rav4 hybrid new in 2016. In 2017 my cousin and became stuck in a muddy bog above his house in the mountains south of his property. I switched to Sport Mode and we pulled out slowly and cleared the boggy spot easily.

Great video we are actually looking to buy a Toyota RAV4 we don't know what trim package we want just yet and we definitely don't want the full-blown hybrid version I think it's called the prime or something like that I think we are looking at either the TRD or The Limited of course we don't do much offroading but at least it has that capability we do like the package that's just under that that has the onboard hybrid system whenever you are driving down the street the motor actually charges the batteries instead of you having to plug it in because it will mostly be used for back and forth long-distance drives and camping every now and then so fuel efficiency is a must

My girlfriend has a '19 Rav 4, and simply loves it...I've had the opportunity to ride in it a lot lately, and I can certainly see why...They're great vehicles, period...Toyota is somewhat unique in that they continue to improve upon the last year's model year after year. I have a '08 Tacoma truck that runs great...Needs some AC work, but other than that, great truck.
