People here aren't reacting hard enough. That was PURE disrespect by that "rep". Not only was he extremely disrespectful, he was completely bullshitting. No tire should ever do that, let alone a Supercorsa V4 that is completely advertised as a track day tire designed hand in hand with the Panigale V4 and is the RECOMMENDED TIRE for your bike for track day enthusiasts. Bro, i don't know how you kept your cool but I admire you for it. But you should have been grilling questions and not taking that misinfo and disrespect.

It looks like you have a defective tire, and I can help you contact the right person to make this right, but I'm not him." @SMVRacingКүн бұрын
So, you met the Florida Pirelli RACE Tire rep. He couldn't even get the tire that you put on your bike because it's a street tire. He deals in racing tires, Supercorsa SC1/2/3, DOT or slicks. The Supercorsa V4 is a street tire that's designed to not require tire warmers and operate within the temp range encountered in the street, while providing excellent grip. You took them to the track, overinflated them (28/32psi when hot, not cold), and then overheated them on the banking. Mark was there to support the racers from the weekend before your trackday, he wasn't invited by Ducati, and was probably packing up after working his ass off for 4 days straight. If you have a problem with the OEM tire that you put on your bike, you probably should have complained to the Ducati reps there for your trackday. Just because your suspension is electronic, doesn't mean that it is properly adjusted or valved for the track. Your bike was designed to be a street bike with racing pedigree, not a race bike (you should have bought the "R" model if you wanted a race bike). If you would to actually learn something, take a race school and start racing, you will learn very quickly that your street bike is slow AF and needs A LOT of work to go fast and not destroy tires.

@SMVRacingКүн бұрын
@mattbudesa6351 FastlaneD essentially went to the reps house and complained about a tire that he doesn't sell, that is being used improperly, and that doesn't belong in that element. The first words from the vendor's mouth were, "I've got to get going", he was leaving the track to go home, and FastlaneD still continued to interrupt him, Ithonk I know what the "D" stands for. It's like buying a stock Ford Mustang, trying to race LeMans with it, and then complaining to Ford Racing department that the srock parts arent working. They're going to tell you by the right upgrade parts, just like the rep told him he needed the Daytona race tire and a better shock. Pirelli didn't have a sales or tech setup for the trackday and the rep was trying to leave because he wasn't invited to the trackday. If he wanted to complain to someone, he should have complained to the person that sold him the tire (assuming that he knew about the Daytona trip). FastlaneD showed up to the World Center of Racing with a streetbike that wasn't properly setup for the track, and he was told exactly that, he got upset with the person who knows better and made a video to complain.

Agree with everything you say re the pressures and suspension. To add to that, the banking at Daytona is unique in that the set up needs to be much more firm than a regular track. For the weaving, that's a common issue with this age Panigale V4, see Bautista's issues in WSBK from back then.

They are tires made for Daytona. Since we are on the left side so much we need a tire with harder compound. There is a season why the Daytona 200 is ran on middleweight bikes and not liter bikes. The liter bikes chew up tires at Daytona. Also the Pirelli guys is a great guy. He really went out of his way to help in a red flag do to rain race in Homestead back in February. I was planning to get a New 4VS and I was talked out of it from a master Ducati mechanic because the electronic suspension is ok for the track but not the best. Yo D! Sorry to hear about your tires my dude, those guys unfortunately didn't want to hear it, kind of sad to be honest. So as an experience track race (on cars) theres a thing that happens called "tire blistering" which looks like it's what happened here. In general, it happens when tires are brand new and aren't "scrubbed" or "broken in" for example, which i think is what happened to you since they were installed Friday and Raced on Monday without maybe a proper warm up? Thats literally the only thing that I could think off although of course at the end it could just be a defective tire, but it would be interesting if all of the dudes ran new tires and the kind of heat/load they were putting in compared to you. Anyways, great content as always my dude! Getting to the 1M sub! 💪
@josegerman887720 сағат бұрын
The tire was possibly defective and also the bike may be in need of some readjustment to the suspension. You are tracking more frequently and as you improve your skill set you apply the gas with more confidence. So you are more aggressive on the throttle coming out of turns consuming the rear tire and working that rear shock more....The more pace the more use of tire and suspension. You also apply the brakes harder because you are going faster so you utilize the front tire more and that front suspension works harder as well. So by me saying that I am pretty sure you may be due for some readjustment maybe even a stiffer rear shock. You keep getting better and faster you need to make the necessary adjustments to the bike to accommodate the adjustments you have made to your riding skills. You came a long way in 1.5yrs congratulations... Much love my Brother your boy #traxstarz
@DanFredrick-w2y11 сағат бұрын
I have won international road races in Canada, US, and Mexico, have broken landspeed records twice at El mirage, and run within 1 mph of the world record at bonnieville, on four different occasions... Daytona is a whole different animal! The banking is notorious for causing tire chunking. On normal tracks, your suspension is probably fine, not at Daytona, need much stiffer to handle the banking.what happens is the suspension bottoms out on the banking, then the tire is doing the work of the suspension, this over heats the tire, then coming off the banking the high speed and centrifugal forces, start ripping off chunks of too soft, overheated rubber. No tire is designed to take that sort of punishment. I'm guessing you might be a bit heavier than the guys you were riding with, and or possibly faster, which would increase the problem. The fact that they were new tires makes it worse because there is more mass(weight) to contribute to chunks ripping off. In doing land speed racing, tech inspection recommends running a sport touring compound and that the tire be about one third worn, so there's less weight= less mass to allow the tire to rip itself apart... They really frown, and will STRONGLY recommend against a new soft compound. Hint, none of the pro racers use the electronic suspension that's on your bike they use race only suspension, that can be manually adjusted and tailored to every track, even Daytona. And they do probably run a different tire at Daytona as well, for all the above reasons. I hope this helps 👍
@Tripped1148 минут бұрын
That looks like a super focused cold tear. Either by going to hard to fast (assuming you weren't running warmers) or to much pressure. The older SP2s recommended 26psi cold, and I go as low as 24 on cold days to get them going. The bigger the power the faster you are going to jack up a tire with pressure or suspension.
@TheSauceBradyExperience3 күн бұрын
aye man, my original remarks aren't suitable for the comment section but homie is whylin. The whole conversation + the rando chiming in + him walking away + Pirelli shouldn't get a dime from you bro
@gmc35783 күн бұрын
(if you are not using tire warmers for track days you might have just did some "cold tears" on that tire!! if you are a hard charger right out of the gates when you hit the track tires can "cold tear"!! you can help reduce the cold tearing by running higher pressures but, then you sacrifice some grip once the tire is fully warm!! the tire will warm up faster with lower pressure, you just need to judge how long it takes for the tire to be up to operating temp. before ripping on it!!) Pirelli's do seem to be more prone to the "cold tears", from my experiences...

@ he said same kind of tires were used for that track with other bikes, so he got unlucky with this set?

Yeah that’s crazy come join the Dunlop crew I never had that problem before I run Q5 at the track which is a road/track tire and they been tremendously helpful

Fastland, take a trip to my country bro. Listen that’s new content right there

Bro you got some patience - I hope Pirelli is watching and can comment on the behavior of that rep. Unprofessional and zero input, that's a 2 piece from me.

The V4SP is not a “show bike”. It’s Ducati’s street legal time attack bike.

Some people deserve to lose their jobs if that's how they represent a company.

Hot day + Left turns + Exhaust dumps out onto left side of tyre... yeah i too think it was a overheating of that portion of the tyre!

What song is that in the intro? And I love your content and I can't wait to get a bike in a couple years, keep up the good work and stay safe!!

I have to agree with the Pirelli rep. Daytona is super hard on tires. Centrifugal forces are high from speed and the tires heat up from friction. That’s why Daytona went to a 600 cc formula. Too much HP and speed on the open class bikes.

That sc project exhaust system is so cool🔥🔥🔥🔥
@jah2804 күн бұрын
Pirelli guy was full of it. He just didn't want to help you. After taking down your specs, he should have pulled the tire and sent it back to HQ for analysis. No way a Supercorsa should have done that. As for exhausts, you should get the Termignoni UC4CITE hi-low mount exhaust.

I got a custom stealth pipe for my MT-10 and it’s the best sounding CP4 bike I have ever heard I bet it would sound wild with a 4 into 1 on the Duc
@KarasuGT4 күн бұрын
That was wild with the whole tire issue. As for the exhaust, I would just get the Arrow fixed instead of a new and different exhaust. No point if you are possibly upgrading to the new V4 in the near future. Also the Arrow sounds awesome! 🏍️🔥💨

For me the pirelli rep was in the wrong or came about the situation the wrong, he didn’t took the situation seriously, he just blamed the bike and the ride. He took it personal and was on the defense the whole time. I would take it up to corporate and it’s not being” petty”. Someone like him is just giving bad advice and opinions on the performance of the tire.

SOMEONE TAG PIRELLI AND ASK THEM IF THIS IS HOW THEY REPRESENT THEMSELVES. IM SURE THEY WILL CLEAR IT UP

That dude must have a huge Ego and doesn’t know wtf he is talking about. Just straight up disrespectful to you.
