0-60 in 7 seconds or less is slow? An SUV not able to handle like a sports car is somehow the fault of the SUV? Getting the same fuel mileage as the sports car and V6 sedans is bad? Come out from the rock you're been living under since 1988. No one with a brain wants those shitbox econo cars, no one with a brain is going to fit 5 people in them either, no one with a brain is going to get a cramped sedan and stuff 5 people in there. The reason that trucks and SUVs make up 60% of the sales in NORTH AMERICA is because of the space and room for 4+ people, ability to haul a load at the same time, and ability to tow something, like your little shitbox econo car when it keeps breaking down.

The only repairs i'd ever made on it were...brakes pads and shoes, switched the auto lockers to Warren manuals, a battery and a trans overhaul..... I ran synthetic fluids in all the components and the fuel economy wasn't that bad.. I miss that vehicle..... I bought a new 1999 Honda CR-V and eventually gave it to my daughter. It was running great for a couple hundred thousand miles when she totaled trying to avoid wildlife on the road. That little AWD SUV was unbreakable (well, the drivetrain was still running great at the time of its demise) and it reminded me of a Willys Jeep. I treated it like a rented mule, drove it through snow and ice higher than the bumpers, overloaded it with passengers and sporting gear, drove it in extreme heat and cold and it just begged for more. The secret to keeping the rear differential running forever is to change the special Honda fluid twice as much as the owner's manual says to. In this case, instead of 60K mile intervals, do it at 30K intervals. I did this and it wasn't expensive; it only holds a quart. Never, ever gave me a problem. What do I have in the driveway now? A 5-speed manual 2006 Honda Element for with AWD for myself and a CVT automatic 2017 Honda HR-V with AWD. We live on a steep hill and get heavy snows in the winter, so they are for function and not fashion, and the AWD works great. I still change the Honda rear diff fluid @ 30K mile intervals.

Most people underestimate the cargo carrying capabilities of hatchback cars. It was easy to load 8' lengths of lumber and close the back door, while the truck beside me had 2' of theirs sticking out. With the front passenger seat removed I loaded tables, couches, a refrigerator, water heater, etc. All protected from the weather too!

hey scotty, my best friend's mum has a 2011 Nissan x-trail 2.5L CVT... a mechanic told her it needs a new transmission and if she drives it could fall out 😆. I picked it up to look at it, noticed there were no codes. Took a week of driving to get the codes back P0746 and P1778. So solenoid stuck closed and stepper motor. I've opened it up and the fluid was awful. The magnets were pretty gross. Is there a way to see if the transmission is busted while I have the pan and solenoid valve body out?

That is partially true, but not totally. From a new car example, say 20 people bought the same exact new car. Same options, engine and all are driven in the same manner. 15 would have no problems and five would have 50 problems after six months. Some vehicles just have problems from the beginning, which has nothing to do with how it's driven. In short, just because you have a vehicle with no problems, doesn't mean 10,000 other people have zero problems as well.

Visualized leak coming from bottom of T-shaped rubber heater hose(Dorman part 626-585) where it connects to metal pipe. I think the connection has a quick connect coupling. Two questions. 1) How much is this fix? 2) Can a do it yourselfer do it----is it difficult to do myself or go to mechanic? ( Do I have to drain cooking system--complex fix?) Please do a video on this if possible. God Bless. Thanx.

Hello scotty, i have a 2005 odyssey, the car runs ok, but if i drive it for more than one hour at once the transmission starts to act up, hard shift and slip, i sent it to the shop, the mechanic found nothing, another mechanic wanted to re build the trans, i found a video on you tube and the guy had the same problem, and he replaced the oil, and the solenoids for second and fourth gears, problem went away, in my case did the same for a wile, but now it came back, so i took the van back to the mechanic, he recomended to fkush the computer, have you seen this problem, and can you give me some advice on repais or dignostic, i am too broke for the dealer, and have not had any luck on finding a good mechanic that wont try to take me for a ride, rhank you.

For $10,000 or less, I can get a 2012 Hyundai Tucson GLS AWD crossover with the 2.4 L four-cylinder engine, which produces 176 horsepower and the six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability. For $5,000 or less, I can get a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu LT V6 sedan with the 3.5 L V6 engine, which produces 201 horsepower and the four-speed automatic transmission, also with manual-shift capability. These are one of my favourite vehicles to own for the first time, because they both have the same gas mileage, compared to other vehicles. Also, they are both reliable and fuel-efficient. Not bad.
