In California, I used to use 90% productivity in estimates for heavy construction. 1/2 hour lunch and (2) 15 minute breaks so in a 10 hour day you actually worked 9 hours but due to regulation changes I started using 60% productivity and the clients asked how can you say that workers are only working 6 hours in a 10 hour day and I used the regulations to show them that now you have to wait for a go ahead, can't just start working, you can't go to the bathroom or eat in the work area, no,, have to shut down everything and then go to an offsite lunch tent/ break tent. Then have to wait again to go back to work until you get the go ahead to start again. Clients then wondered if 6 hours out of 10 was even correct. Just another way the regulators have passed a lot of stupid laws in California. So now 4 paid hours for non productive work as opposed to 1 hour of paid non productive work. Wonder why prices are going up?

A corvette in 1970 cost say, 40 oz of gold...same as today. Only difference is your average salary had you buying twice as much gold back then as now.
