Warranty took care of all this but since then, Altima dealerships ( took it to three of them for the same problem) tell me they can't fix the vibration from the engine compartment. One of the dealerships told me it was normal. I asked, "so, when I first bought the car and it wasn't vibrating, that was abnormal?" My 2010 Elantra is still kicking. Bought it back in the summer of 2019, and no issues ever since. She's nearing 130,000 miles though. Yeah, I got new tires on her that year. She deserves it. I baby that thing since it is MY first car. It goes to show that first impressions matter!

I had a 2007 Altima 3.5 SL 6 CYL 275HP. No issues for 12 years and then started having issues with Rack N Pinion. The steering wheel would shake after speeds 60MPH and beyond..

Sounds like your front tires were out of balance. Or the front struts were worn out
@edgaracevedo96583 жыл бұрын
@@dougn2350 That's what I also thought but I did have a wheel alignment, tires balance which local mechanic recommended and it worked at first but then back to shaking again. Took it to a Nissan Service Center and they said it was the rack n pinion. Anyway, I got rid of it as it was too dangerous in the highway. Also the back seats floors where getting full of water whenever it rained, I needed 4 new tires, brake pads, rotors repair. I only had 39K miles after 12 years.

My father had a 3rd generation 2003 Elantra (first time he bought an Asian car). 5 speed manual, 2.0L Beta II engine. The Elantra was a pretty basic car at that time, but turned out to be the most reliable car he'd ever owned. He sold it to a co-worker friend in 2008 (when he was about to move out of the city) with 130K miles on it. That friend still owns the car today, which now has 287K miles on it, with mileage being about 85% highway. The only maintenance done were all normal items - no failures or issues so far. That, in part, is due to the vehicle living it's life in West Texas, so no corrosion worries. The 5th generation is where they switched to the Nu Engine, with the 1.8L in particular being the problematic one.

I like my 2020 Kia Forte LXS. No issues yet but one engineering complaint. I bought it in late 2020 so 21's were already on the lot. They all had this issue. You can't flip the wipers up to clean the windshield. The hood is in the way. Only one time I was able to shut the car off while the wipers were moving and they stopped. Pretty annoying when you are trying to wash your car and clean debree out.

Had a ‘16 Elantra that was totaled two years ago because some lady decided to rear end me at a stoplight, had that car since it was new. 56k trouble free miles on it Have owned a ‘17 Elantra Limited since then and it has been a great car. Bought it used with 14k miles and I’ve put 30k on it since then with routine maintenance. Hyundai has come a long way since the late 90s/Early 2000s.

My 2011 Altima has 115.000 km (10 years old as of now) and it has been the most reliable car I ever owned with ZERO issues so far. I can't say the same for previous cars such as Toyota Matrix, Mazda 5, German Passat 1.8T, Jetta as they all had issues along the way. The VWs were just bad, the Mazda had recurring front suspension issues, and the Matrix was OK-ish but would cup tires every 50K and too much of a bumpy ride, I got rid of it as fast as I could.

Sad, but true. Nissan used to be a good running quality automobile. Bad management is destroying the vehicle and the company. Their Leader had to escape like a "Prisoner of War", from Japan WW11 Legal System. He would have improve Nissan but did not get to carry it out. When I was in the military during Vietnam misunderstanding, drove something called a bluebird in Japan. The first Mazda I drove there, was a small, small 2 seater with a motorcycle engine under the seat. How far they have come. Mazda is a good car company. Going to all turbos and AWD vehicles, now.

2012 Elantra off the floor. Got me through "Snowpacalypse" while small trucks and Nissan 300's were stranded left and right. With waze (sniffing out smokies) I averaged 75mph from DC to Arkansas and held a 110mph octave more than a few times on DC highways. Regular maintenance kept her running smooth through 180K, but my move back to Houston heat/humidity was a shock. Hanging in there, but since 2020 I've gotten new head/taillight assemblies, a battery, alternator, O2 sensor, serpentine belt, shocks, struts, and rebuilt the tranny, Luckily, I've got a parts guy, did most of the work myself, and had a good mechanic for the heavier stuff. Since I hardly did anything more than tires and regular maintenance up till then, I'm ok with the 10yrs (on the dot next month) and 195,000 miles so far. She earned the hardware.

As I said in another one of your videos, the Elantra N DCT is what I'll be trading my 2021 K5 in for, when it hits the dealers & check out all these positive comments from people with older Elantras & how reliable they were. Those Elantras can achieve the same mileage of a Corolla & for the ones with engine problems, Hyundai is making it right, as you touched on. They're even giving them lifetime engine warranties, I mean, you can't beat that.

What are your thoughts on a 2006 elantra? I just got a hell of a deal on a super clean one for just $1700! It just had a couple minor quirks like a broken hood latch and it needed a valve pan gasket. Grabbed both things the very next day and installed them and now I'm yet to find any other issues. It looks better than most used cars on the lots going for 5 grand or more. The check engine light isn't even on! I also added a cold air intake just for fun too. It runs great.
