Agreed, I'm not a massive crossover fan, but this and the Mustang mach-e are actually pretty good looking. There are also some pretty attractive larger crossovers as well, like the velar, last few gens of the Ford explorer, and the Mazda cx-9.

Can you sketch an EV from scratch for max interior space, min drag coefficient etc.? I think eventually or maybe in 15-20 years there will be some cars very different in design, apart from most of the conventional car design. It will be an interesting design challenge...

2:24 I’d call it a hot hatch. GT version over $80,000. This is a KIA. Think of all your other choices if you had $80k. How about a Vette C8 with an extra $20k of spending money and a faster 0-60 time??

I think pulling the A pillar back simply to make the hood look longer is dumb. Why not have a heavily curved windscreen instead of the flat types commonly used?.. You get A pillars pulled back but slightly more upright with commensurate structural gains. See honda crz side profile and gordon murray t50

OK the first thing to say this was against the slowest versions of each car so not really a great test and I would contend that over a 600 and beyond all of the cars would overhaul the EV6 That said the car performance is admirable and I think the styling is really good for a crossover suv I prefer it over a tesla in terms of styling both inside and out and the performance is comparable enough in terms of range and efficiency I actually think that the Koreans have got the EV right compared to other companies. I think the VW group has design there car to be easily cheaper when they need it to be and I believe the Nissan renualt group will produce a comparable car what I do think is that Tesla is going to suffer outside the US since unless it can produce a cheap enough car I suspect it will come down in value soon

Impressive but one thing that Will be Borimg when Every car Will be a ev is that they Will all have the same emotionless clinical performance as you Said . Now with combustiom engines Every performance car have theiir own way to make them so fast. A Porsche is a Porsche and a mclaren is a McLarens etc. EVS feel the same

@@Bembli but even if its a kia you cant compare it to for an example an amg gt rwd track car which is very difficult to launch close to impossibale. It sure is fast but its a awd ev with allot of power and i would be suprised if it did not win with the mclaren out of the equation of course since those are mad in dragraces.

I start to prefer this design over the Ioniq 5 which has a strong design basis but overall looks too much styled like a kitchen appliance (the details in mounded plastic parts ) The Kia looks overall more mature in the design decisions made.

What KIA doesn't show you is the interior of that drag EV6, probably stripped down to just 1 lightweight racing seat, and almost nothing else, just to keep the weight down to perform like that! 😉

Ever since the first Teslas it's been well known how fast EVs accelerate. The problem is how much range they have left after a few sprints like that. That's why 20% of US EV owners are returning to petrol cars.
