I would love to see Doug do an updated review of the Ghibli, maybe the new Trofeo variant. Maserati has massively updated the Ghibli since this video was published and most of the issues Doug had with the vehicle have been addressed. It’s still far from perfect but I think it shows that Maserati is at least listening to their customer base, unlike some of its German competitors.

I own a 2015 Ghibli SQ4 but not for long. In April, a young man who is a pillar of the community and has a promising future ran a red light driving a stolen Taurus doing 80 mph and I hit him doing about 40. The doors of the '$80,000 luxury sedan' opened as if the accident didn't happen despite the nose of the car being completely ripped off, the front axle snapped, and the front frame almost ripped off. The front of the car was the radiator flopping out. I got out uninjured. And I loved driving it, Doug. It handled well and while it wasn't the quickest, it had 400+ HP did 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. The exhaust was music. I enjoyed the interior and the ride.

A colleague has one of these. He was able to get it off the showroom floor in the middle of the silicon chip / car availability crisis (at the time, the local BMW and Audi dealers had literally NOTHING new in stock). So that was nice, if indicative of the demand level for the thing. It looks great and I do like look of the interior as long as you don’t look too closely at the quality of some of the parts. Driving it in town just looks awkward, and there is a terribly small amount of space for such a large and unwieldy car. But if you ride in it, people say “I saw you in a Maserati”.

HecksVision a secret to be able to maintain an awesome car while not having "fuck you money" is to have a set of arms that are not growing out of your ass (not yours in particular, just saying), so i learned changing a clutch by following a forum guide... and it turned out to be a huge success, i installed a better and more expensive part while i saved 2k in labor... and learned a lot in the process, also stopped fearing get my hands dirty, before that i was only comfortable with changing oil and break pads, now i feel like i could rebuild and engine lol

You can laugh because several of them had batteries catch fire, but we have much bigger safety recalls from other top manufacturers every single year. Those companies don't build you gas stations in the desert for free, but Tesla built charging stations. Lastly: You're a fool to think Tesla's software isn't better than apple's. They spend most of their time making sure the (comparatively basic) car computer runs smoothly, while Apple has to work on an entire operating system for a phone, and then start on a new version as soon as it's released. All the things you thought were problems with Tesla cars were already fixed years ago, but your bias prevented you from looking into it. And yes, they're expensive. @@Connection-Lost Tesla’s quality control has been in the shitter for the past 3 years, I know 4 people who bought their’s new, 3 of them were very disappointed in the cars because they had constant issues, mainly with the screens. In fact, one of them was so bad with issues, Tesla had to buy it back (2019 model X). That 4th person I know who didn’t have any problems was just disappointed In the fact you can’t drive from the east coast to the west coast of Florida without stopping at least once for an hour or more… (assuming you find a charging station). You can’t sit here and continue to tell me they’re amazing when clearly they are shitboxes. Plus, no one cares if they are faster, they certainly don’t make the sound my car does and they never will. Launching these things actually hurts on the inside and honestly gets old after you do it over and over again. I’ve found that having a V8 for a year hasn’t gotten old yet. Maybe that’s just me.
