Makes sense as it will be made on same line as the ICE version which offers FWD and AWD models. With electric, contrary to ICE, that means you must have room for motor in front and back. FWD does not mean the same as it did with ICE as the weight of the engine and transmission is no longer focused on front of vehicle. Does show how this is basically an ICE vehicle modified for BEV usage.

@@sipher3516 it has the longest range not because it’s RWD, it’s because it’s the best way to fit the largest battery in this platform. Too bad they couldn't work their packaging to include a front storage, especially if you pick the RWD version. You have to wonder how Tesla is so good at packaging with dual motors in the same size car. I really object to the concept of reserved charging. I don't know how they plan to implement that because I would not want to pull up to a charger and see reserved on the screen, or be charging and be cut off because someone reserved that unit. Especially if they reserved it and were late arriving. All chargers should be first come, first served. I am perfectly fine cutting people off at 80% during very busy times, or fining people who leave a car plugged in when it's full.
