We slowed down our upload schedule. We are really trying to do a new type of video for our niche. The comments we are getting are great. If we didn't slow it down, we wouldn't have ever been able to do this. Its definitely working to Grow us a loyal audience!

If you publish a new vid, your last one stops. Question is: why would I want to stop the growth of my last video?
@SummerBeautycАй бұрын
@@WayOfTheZombie So we have found that your last video doesn't necessarily stop every time your release a video. A new release can take away from it though. We have been working really hard at making "evergreen" content lately and it seems to be working. All of our last 4 videos are still getting decent views.

@@SummerBeautyc good to know! Evergreen is where it's at for sure, for the long gamers

Thank you so much for making this video! I've never heard these tips before. I'm definitely saving this for future reference.

I like the simplicity and clarity how she describes it. Brilliant. Thank you.

best video you've guys have done. I've reached the same conclusions as I'm entering the speedy/experimental phase. I think a lot of people are afraid of trying new things that their current audience may not like... but you gotta disconnect from that.

I'm curious about everyone's thoughts on something... How consistent should shorts be published for growth, and when is too much? :D
@ScentScapades28 күн бұрын
I uploaded three shorts per day for the first three months. 95% of my subscribers came from shorts. A major algorithm change at the beginning of last month made me lose most of my views and impressions. It's taking much longer for each piece of content to find its audience. One upload per day is probably more than enough now if you're a small channel.

I took off 3 month for being in the hospital (new channel) I lost 2 subscribers but I also informed everyone in the community about what’s going on! The you tube algorithm wasn’t as forgiving…. It’s okay! I love making videos!

Hey just some packaging feedback - when I saw Marcus on the thumb I assumed this was a podcast interview. Also the hook was confusing, I thought it was an ad or something at first. I hope this is helpful!
@nyartisticwriterАй бұрын
I agree. There should be a different thumbnail for this.
@ChannelMakersАй бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! Using familiar faces in thumbnails is pretty standard on KZbin, even when they’re not guests, as long as they’re featured or referenced in some way. So, I'm curious-was it something specific, like the added talk bubbles, that made this one feel confusing? Our intention was to highlight the range of opinions in the video, not to mislead anyone. But we get that sometimes intentions and results don’t fully match. We’ll definitely keep this in mind moving forward. -Julia
@LivingInCharlotteTeamАй бұрын
@@ChannelMakers yep I didn’t think it was ill intent, just a mismatch of expectations. And I try to share things I notice on packaging because I love it when other creators can give me some insight too. Again, hope it’s helpful. To answer your question, the specifics were: 1) Coming from Channel Makers there’s enough credibility with the channel that if there’s a face I would expect it to be an interview. 2) it looks like Marcus is speaking vs speaking about Marcus. So the difference being “This is why you’re confused about growing” sounds like an interview, VS “This is the Trick That Big Channels are using to get clear and grow on YT” sounds like a talking head and would better match expectations in my mind.
@nyartisticwriterАй бұрын
@@ChannelMakers Personally, I think it would have been better to show you and something like a traffic light.
@LivingInCharlotteTeamАй бұрын
@@ChannelMakersrelated to the hook, if I can give one more piece of feedback - starting at 1:18 is gold and super interesting, even moreso than the credible KZbinr interview clips. If it was my video, I might just start the video at 1:18 and change the title to “Why Your Publish Schedule is KILLING Your KZbin Channel” or something similar. Again, I appreciate the video and mean no disrespect, I genuinely hope this is helpful feedback.

The thumbnail was a bit misleading because Julia wasn't on the thumbnail and whoever is in the video should be in the thumbnail. Apart from that it was a fantastic & informative video and I appreciate it.
@SummerBeautycАй бұрын
I was happy cause Julia is the best. But they are just trying to use Ethos to get click and also keep some ambiguity about who and what the video is about. That's what thumbnails are all about IMO.

It's maddening at times! One big creator says this, and then another big creator says....don't do that. These people are contradicting each other. WTF?? Whose advice do you follow? smh
@ChannelMakers22 күн бұрын
Probably the best approach is to listen to advice channels to open your mind to a variety of ideas, and then test the ones that feel right to you. Then you'll have your own data to start making decisions off of. It can be frustrating for sure!

You guys might want to open up about your long-form videos having apocalyptic view counts. It's happening to a huge number of creators right now and KZbin needs to address it. It has nothing to do with the quality of your content or the niche; KZbin's algorithm is just borked at the moment, but they're not going to change it if no one talks about it.
