This guy seems to undersell his role in the car culture here. He's personal friends with Houston from Royalty Exotics, Ed (obviously) and Kyle from 1320 at a minimum...and got a heritage Ford GT allocation...My man isn't just some lawn boy from kentucky, he's just very humble.

Ed and I have known each other for a decade or so through Lambo-Talk forum. 1320 Kyle and I have been buddies since he would ride in my TT Vipers back in the day at Tx2k. "If you ever sell this thing, it's gonna bring all the value" "I'm not in it for that. It's really about the experience, it's about the story...It's really about the car" This is the kind of customer brands should sell their limited production run cars to. Not people who are interested in the money behind it, but who are in it for the love of cars and their love for that particular brand.

If I ever buy an exotic, I'm going to drive it and I'm going to drive it like the engineers intended. I'm not buying a car to park it in my garage and look at it, I'm buying it to enjoy the whole experience. yea, extremely relatable. I remember my biggest struggle during covid was not getting my hyper car delivered so instead I went out and almost bought a Bugatti. What the actual fuck? @@JS-oi5jtthis guy started out like any average Joe, but he was passionate and extremely hard working. He wasn’t born into money, and is still down to earth even after becoming rich. That’s what makes him relatable. Also, this isn’t a finance channel. Why would a car channel go into detail about how to build a landscaping business? There are other channels for that. And just so you know finances aren’t the only things that can bring hardships in life. I couldn’t imagine how stressful it must be to manage a business of his size. As someone who's talked to Ford high-ups who were on the board that decided the people who got allocated for a GT, I absolutely can. I spoke to the owner of a yellow Ford GT, plate GT17 FMC in the UK back in August at Silverstone. Turns out he's a top employee of Ford UK and the car in particular is the second highest mileage GT in the world. We ended up having a chat for a good 45 to 50 minutes just about the car, and he told me the allocation process was as follows: You can apply to your countries' branch of Ford, so like Ford UK, Ford US, etc. All the names are compiled into a list and sent to the executives of the Ford branch, along with a board of about four other people (for the UK, the gentleman I talked to was on this board) They'll rank people based off of qualities such as, • Will they sell the car early on? This is something Ford won lawsuits over, as you weren't allowed to sell it for a set period, I believe two years • Will they keep it in a garage and not drive it? This one directly ties into the video, and it's a reason a LOT of billionaire collectors were denied, because Ford knew they'd just let the car gather dust. This was, in the gentleman's own words, 'the most important factor in our decision on the person' There were a few more, but I can't exactly remember them. But after being ranked, this list of UK, or French, or German applicants would then be send to Ford USA in Detroit, so that their board (including the Ford CEO) could once again comb the entire list over. If THAT board said yes to you, then you'd get an allocation for a GT. So, I can understand why this man got his GT and especially why he turned down a Heritage. A Heritage Edition would be driven much less, be less unique and would ultimately become a showpiece rather than something driven, which is exactly what Ford wanted in who they picked for the GT. I'm unsure of if the Concierge employees knew anything about this, but what Shaun said about "it'll bring in all the money" contradicts the original ethos of the application process, so it's something that made me think. Sorry about the long comment, but it's some insight into how people got picked to own a GT. I'm at least glad Ford didn't just let anyone buy them and at least wanted people to drive them

Here in Stillwater Minnesota a carpenter was doing extensive upgrades to a house when the 2008 crash happened. The house owner had a red with white stripes 05 or 06 Ford GT and his income dived after the market tanked. The carpenter finished the house and the house owners only way to pay the contractor was with the Ford GT. So the house owner signed over the title and the carpenter took ownership of the GT which he drove around town almost every day that it wasn’t winter time. The carpenter must have sold it or parked it since I haven’t seen it in several years. But the value of an 05/06 GT has climbed enough to buy a very nice house.

I used to live in River Falls, Wisconsin. About 50 years ago there was a news story from the Stillwater area. Someone had inherited their grandfather’s house and we’re stripping the wallpaper off the walls. As the more recent wallpaper came off, they discovered that the walls had been papered with 3M stock. Research indicated that the grandfather had been a 3M employee and when, during the Depression, 3M was unable to pay their employees in cash; some of them had been issued stock. I don’t remember now what the total value was, but the stock was redeemable and nets at the grandson several hundred thousand dollars

I know a little about his line of work, here's a fact - the guys that bust their ass, say what they mean and mean what they say - do what they get paid to do? They can provide a good life for not only themselves, but also the team of people he obviously has around him to be great. It's hard work, but if you're good enough, there's people willing to pay for the best quality out there. If you ask me? Great story! Have a friend who also started a lawn mowing business in high school, went on to college and had a career in law enforcement. But, never gave up his lawn business. Today depending on the time of year, he has between 40-50 employees working for him. You so did the right thing designing the GT your way. Three years ago I built my dream R8. Can't go anywhere without at least one person commenting on the color and the build. It's 1 of 1. Enjoy your ride!

My Grandfather worked at a place called "news and smokes" when I was young, and they also carried magazines. I recieved all the leftover monster truck and car mags that didn't sell. Aside form all the " free chew" promos lol (never got into chew) but I became a nut for cars. The engineering, the insane genius behind it all. Still fascinates me at 42 years old. Amazing video! I got emotional watching it. I did put my love for cars on the side for many years but I remember when I was a kid saving money to buy a monthly magazine named “automobile classic” it was the most expensive of the car magazine but the pictures were amazing and paper quality insane. I treated that magazine like gold bars. I’m 37, driving a 21 ecoboost and trying to make my little Georgia private Investigations firm bigger step by step. But just seeing and listening to that guy story was exactly what I needed. Congrats and wish you the best.

Good for him. Too many people get into the college trap nowadays when there is allot of opportunity out there for people who are willing to work hard at a trade or just plain labour. Don't get me wrong a college education can be a great thing. If your willing to get something out of it AND you get one that has job prospects when you complete it. Like an Engineer, teacher, nursing, research, etc. Getting something like a degree a history and/or arts degree has so few prospects apon completion it should be a crime that universities turn out so many of them. I have too many friends with English, history or arts degrees that spent years serving tables trying to figure out where their lives went wrong while I got an design and drafting diploma from a Canadian tech and trades school for 3 years and was happy making decent money for a farming heavy equipment manufacturer and paying off my student loans long before they got their shit together. IMO I think apon graduating high schoolkids should take a year or 2, get a job and do some traveling. You don't know shit about the real world so how can you be expected to make a career decision that could affect your next 10-30 years while in high school? The real world is sobering to the dreams of a child. Allot of my friends realized too late that university wasn't right for them and but they found happiness doing carpentry, becoming an emt, policing, becoming engineering techs, etcs. And so they also ended up with crippling student loan debt for an education they didn't use or appreciate.

My pal in Phoenix did the same. In early highschool he changed his pocket money landscaping into a business. In the next two years he had two full time three man crews. He bought the giant standing mowers and expanded to four crews. His dad was an insurance agent so he had grown up around insuring homes and businesses. He used his cash and a relationship with his fathers bank to purchase Phoenix modest homes for between 13 and 20 thousand dollars and rent them out with his mom doing calls and accounting. His senior year he had the landscape business, owned 13 rental properties and drove a Porsche to school. He never looked back; no college, just work. He made shrewd investments and did very well. While in high school he and his brother began playing music in local clubs. He is a drummer and singer. His brother is on keyboards, saxophone and clarinet. They were playing every weekend with mom or dad driving them to gigs. They caught the eye of promoters and finally had a twenty year run in show lounges in Las Vegas. All the while they would drive/ fly back to Phoenix during the week. His lawn business grew with mom at the helm. Buildings were purchased at an increased pace and the boys prepared to take over the insurance business. Today they both work full time in their insurance business. He owns tons of properties but you would never know it. Just a couple of energetic kids living the true American dream.
