@OnlineMechanicTips Ай бұрын
Theres no need to second guess my ability to do anything dude. Every thing I say on my channel merely my opinion. You also entitled to your opinion. In some cases opinions clash. Such as this one. The setup you speaking about do not apply to this vehicle. The condensor on this car in fact wide and require both fans to work for it to operate properly. So yes, both fans have to operate on this car for max cooling to occur. Also nobody said the sys was full. Before you go trying to correct somebody, maybe you should know what kind of vehicle being discuss in the video. Not all cars the same.

Not true. He explained the symptoms of a bad (4 dollar) "orifice tube." Change the orifice tube and charge the, system, and she will blow cold air again at the red lights & at the drive through. You can use the a/c setting on your HVAC for testing purposes on your electronic fans. They operate via a "switched", ground. The temperature sensor runs the GROUND on a one fan, system. I know the a/c setting turns on the fan on a one fan, system. NGL, I'm not certain about second fan when there are, 2. I'd venture to say the other one is switched via engine coolant temperature. If you wanna TEST your electric fan? Just turn your a/c to, "ON?" There's nothing to deliberate. Go test it on your own, vehicle The orifice tube is a screen that changes the a/c refrigerant from liquid to, gas. Having a clogged orifice tube would be in comparison to tryna use oil (PAG oil) for cooling?
@OnlineMechanicTips
@OnlineMechanicTips 26 күн бұрын
Smdh, not all vehicles use an orfice tube anymore my guy. You still living in the 90s I guess. You basically need airflow thru the condenser at stops to maintain cold AC.

Not all electric fan setups run both fans at the same time. It’s normal for one fan to constant run and the other kick off and on with a signal from a coolant temp sensor. Now if that second fan isn’t kicking on and off when commanded by the pcm then you have a fan issue. Most the time it’s a filthy condenser bc people never think to clean them. It’s even worse and more common in places that are drier climate with more dust. Always try a condenser clean before replacing fans.
@OnlineMechanicTips
@OnlineMechanicTips 2 жыл бұрын

Perhaps, but in this case the high side may rise slightly because only half of it doing its thing. The fan is not even design to come on on some cars until the high side reach a certain pressure (Cars with AC transducer) So depending on when you check the pressure using gauges will it be considered accurate.

You didnt see a real hi high side pressure ? and a little bit hi low side ? Thats our first clue about no fan, or not enough fan. We often get them where the fan is running, but too slow (fan old and tired). Also, where we are from, we have to add anther condensor fan in front, run off a relay from the clutch. (115 degrees in the summer) Makes the AC way cooler, keeps your high side prssures way down

My 170k mile 2009 Ford Fusion only has one cooling fan, and it comes on when the ac is turned, but the ac is not cooling at idle and barely does while driving 55mph on a 95 degree day. It has a new condenser (the old one had a pinhole leak in it), and I replaced the compressor at the same time and had a shop put the right refrigerant charge in it. It also has a new TXV. Any ideas? Could the cooling fan not be turning fast enough due to a bad control module (that I think has multiple resistors on it for the various speeds called for, depending on engine cooling and ac cooling needs?)

How are pressures normal if fan was not operating? Head pressure would be elevated due to heat not being rejected from condenser.
@OnlineMechanicTips
@OnlineMechanicTips Ай бұрын
Normal as in the amount. Based off those pressure reading, one can assume the sys not empty. Meaning that the reason for AC not cooling is not because the AC sys empty. And for the record, on some cars, the fan not even needed until high side pressure reach a certain amount. So the AC may be cold when first started.

@@OnlineMechanicTips that's how ac and refrig works. If fan ran all the time during low ambients, head pressure would drop too low and system would start to ice up. He is going to put a whole new set of fans rather than fix the one that quit its a dc motor find the break in the wire open the can find the problem like brush not contacting or in some they put thermal fuse ive even had to solder the armature wire throughing the whole part out is china style worst case if determined the motor cant be fixed get one from the junk yard that works with busted fan plastic or what ever replacing the whole unit means you learned nothing but how to throw money at it

@@sean7058 And at standard hourly rate what would the cost be for him to disassemble the fan and start poking around and hoping it’s something easy to fix as compared to the cost of just replacing the fan with a new one that is guaranteed. When you’re doing something on your own at home your time is free so you can spend four hours fixing a fan. Which of these days would be about $400 worth of labor for $100 fan.

Ok so I need your help! My car was overheating but we figured out that the little square plug in piece on the drivers side closest to the battery/headlights had a short. So we taped it to work all the time and I have to unplug it when the car is off for longer than like 5-10 mins. However, the reason we did not do a toggle switch is because someone said it would affect my A.C. That’s why we are using this method until I can get someone to tell me which of the (3?) sensors is messed up. Anyway, the car tried to overheat the other day so we had to re-tape it a little tighter but now my a.c. Is out completely. It blows but it’s hot air pretty much. Do you think it has something to do with this issue or does it just need some Freon (or whatever it’s called lol)?

Also it worked great with the taping of the piece until the other day. I think because we have taken it out so many times maybe we moved the tape but it was only a temporary fix anyway. One more thing: I have the new piece but the fan isn’t coming on because of one of the (3?) sensors isn’t telling it to come on. That’s why the piece I am talking about is taped in the first place. It keeps the fan on all the time. That’s why we have to take it out

Literally helping my boy fix his 300 A/C right now. When you’re at idle the fans don’t spin because they activate when temps get high and the car gets an alert like “hey !!
