Adam and Ben definitely have great chemistry, but I think it could be good to experiment with mixing up teams sometimes. In some seasons the Sam+guest dynamic can feel a bit awkward/overshadowed by the Ben and Adam show. Like Dave said, it's important to make sure the guest looks good and has time to shine

I don't think they should break up Ben and Adam's partnership for the more traditional game styles, if only because traveling is so much less stressful with someone you're close with. Also they created the Snack Zone in NZ and I don't see that kind of thing (or drunk Ben's antics, etc.) continuing if they were to swap partners.

I did really like the Europe dynamic of three teams, I would like to see four teams one day just because it might allow for some temporary alliances to be formed during the game play and with the dynamic of the curse cards, it should create a crabs in a bucket dynamic as far as ensuring the game stays close to the finish line.

36:30 I believe at this point, my greatest reason for watching Jet Lag in general is my wish to have the chance to experience the games in the same way as you guys do. I totally would get as competitive as Sam, and love the seriousness vs laid back attitudes of Ben / Adam. Realistically, you have created something that a lot of Geography 'geeks' would love to do, given the opportunity at some point in their lives, and you are able to share it in an interesting way. In the UK, we have had gameshows such as Treasure Hunt and Interceptor in the 90's which inspired using the earth and known local areas as a 'gameboard' to more recently the series called 'Hunted' in the past few years, which allow folks to experience 'non threatening' simulated experiences of travel under pressurised situations which the viewer can then compare with their own experiences and agree / disagree with the decisions made at the time by the 'contestant'. It is a winning formula for folks who have that 'global' interest for what is around them, and there are even opportunities to introduce new places, just like this most recent series, where I've never been to New Zealand, but had some limited knowledge, so found the places visited around the country very interesting and often found myself googling these locations to find out more about them. If you haven't guessed, I really appreciate the work that you are all putting into the series / channel, and long may it continue, as you will have a Nebula subscriber for as long as you do! Many thanks!

Talking about the possibility that Sam might pull rank never occurred to me. Since Sam stated at one point that Ben and Adam are the ones who come up with the rules, while Sam is busy with Wendover and HAI. I always figured that Ben and Adam were the ones who had final say on any rules disputes.

If people want a version of jet lag they can play, they just need to scale it down to the city level and base gameplay and challenges around that. Even the Tag across Europe could get kindof expensive. Train travel is inexpensive but it isn't cheap either but most cities you can get transit day passes for a much more reasonable amount of money.

You know I remember this old board game I played with my cousins and it was I think called 'Scotland yard' or something, it was basically about catching a thief around London using various forms of public transport, but you would only know the thief's location periodically and you would have to guess and predict where the theif would go and somehow catch him. And you had like different tickets for each form like taxi, underground, ferry and stuff like that. So it could be a cool idea to replicate something like that in jet lag. (Kinda similar to the special episode they did with Tim Scott on his channel but on a bigger scale)
@juliegolick

The first round of the newest season was all set in Tokyo, so it's definitely something that could scale down to a single city and still be a lot of fun.

I think it would be interesting to see a season where BOTH teams have NO idea what the game entails. Get a third party to plan the game, and have ALL FOUR of the competitors along for the ride. That would be a true equaliser and allow for pure raw strategy on the fly to shine through. Love all the seasons of this game though!

They do - the challenges in the Tag across Europe are based on Taskmaster, hence the creative solving of the challenges. Of course then there was backlash from the viewers so they've done less of it now.

Obviously I want them to focus on the show, but something that immediately comes to mind as being a fun thing for a large group of people to do may be a city-wide capture the flag game in a city with ample public transit. I think it could be similar to tag, with a budget for transportation, but it would be per person and only apply when in the opposing team’s zone, and then you could maybe add challenges that people have to do in order to pick up the ‘flag’. Or maybe multiple ‘flags’ depending on number of people? Idk. I think it’d be fun, relatively accessible, could reuse a decent amount of previous work from the games to make the organizer’s work easier, and would be relatively cheap
@Lavendarsblue

I could see a New Zealand-style game played in Canada, which has a similarly linear road system due to all the ice and snow to the north. A max level of miles on the TCH would be imperative, but the insanely huge map would make for an AMAZING game!

I think one of the things that I like the best about a potential translation from Show to like IRL public events (ticketed public event, of course) is the pre-determined routes (obviously, speaking about the NZ season). That makes it fundamentally different than (as discussed) the Amazing Race or even other similar style city races. By setting the course/game board you’re keeping the focus on the challenges and gameplay and fun rather than say map knowledge or city layout or shortcuts or just general speed (like if you were running). I feel like this element makes it more accessible for different types of people and abilities (ie mobility issues, children, non-residents, etc.). Already rewatching the whole NZ season! Cheers guys. And special shout out to B&A - clever, creative, engaging editing is an unsung skill and talent.

If you did make an “at home” version of Jet Lag, it would be super fun (and a bit niche) if there was a version that would be directed towards those with Non-Revenue Space Available travel benefits. While I understand that a certain rule (that you can’t use such benefits to make a profit) prevents the Jet Lag team from having a season based around this (it would be amazing), providing a framework for a game based on Non-Revenue travel would be epic for those of us in the travel industry.

One thing that's also nice about Jet Lag is, aside from the obvious travel aspect, is that you aren't forcing the game on account of production costs; you're doing all the filming yourselves with selfie sticks. With a show like The Amazing Race, there's no point in working hard to gain a lead because you'll lose it on account of everyone needing to be on this one flight to somewhere.

i feel like that would lead to some teams having more screen time than others, and someone has to decide what we see about which team and i think that would be less natural. Maybe each team has their own channel/video. Like each week you get four videos, one per team. In the current seasons, we get to see exactly everything that each team is doing. We barely miss any of their strategies

I super agree with Ben. When I went to Korea last year I bought a total of 1200 plastic straws... I'm hopefully now set for life and hopefully I will never have to use another paper straw ever again.

I'm yet to watch Jet Lag but it's the backlog. Seems like a cool idea and it seems like a good show if it's that popular.

Ben I think I used to have the same opinion as you about plastic straws, then I considered it as reminder that we need to be more sustainable and that marketing value makes it worthy. 100% sustainability as a goal.

I really appreciate the honesty with the timeline. I was watching the race across the US and I was wondering if it was really that close. It was nice to feel that it wasn't a made up timeline.
