Yes, the line IS good about the tax collector. And oh so true too! But as far as Herman and Lily, back in those days many stay at home wives managed the family's money and household accounts. It was the norm. So it was not all that unusual that Lily would open Herman's paycheck.

I looked at Amazon. From the reviews I read, the set you get for $25 seems to be some kind of knock off or seconds or used ones. I read complaints from the picture being blurry to missing disks to some of them actually being in COLOR! Now you can buy them off Amazon from Universal, but it costs $129 for the series!

Technically it was Goodbury Gateman and Graves. I think Yvonne DeCarlo flubbed the name here and they just left it in instead of doing a retake. Eventually, for some reason, everyone assumed it was Gateman Goodbury and Graves.

Yes, when he was trying to earn extra money to buy Lily a gift for their 100th wedding anniversary he was a welder in a shipyard. Only it wasn't BEFORE this episode. It was AFTER. This aired in June of 1965 and the anniversary episode aired in October of 1965.

This sounds like a conflict with another episode where Eddie says to his mother that he went to bed but is having trouble staying awake. This is a stark contrast to a show like Breaking Bad where the writing is very tight and they didn't let conflicting things happen.
