Great runs Jevin! I think you should buy the uncommons when you can afford them and they pop up. If you reach the common cap too early, then all your extra embers will be wasted later when you get 40 embers and buy like a 32 card that pops. Or when you get 25 and none pop up that are that price. Min Max that ember game and youll be in this thing!

Nah. I agree that if they can afford a better uncommon they should get those instead. But it’s better to get 2/3 each of the commons or max out early and buy moment of clarities and tomes after until they can handle the harder levels. The 4 four main commons are only 20 cards and a moment of clarity making 21, with a max of 40. A lot of the hermits’ problems are that they’re trying to speed run levels with little to no defense and knowledge. What I’m saying is that they rushed passed easy mode too fast and now it’s eating most of them up.

I understand that quantity is over quality (tango said that as well), and u could get the same effect with the common cards in most cases, but that 'second wind' for 22 was good deal as well, since it is the only card to give regeneration and run speed..

I agree with the people saying you should get uncommons first when you can, so when you have leftover embers you can still buy commons without wasting them.

It's important to remember that having a lot of cards makes it take longer to get other cards. Having 1 card that blocks 4 clank is better than 2 that block 2 because you get all 4 at once, and open up time to get another card like treasure or more clank block. I think that the way to go with deck building would be to phase out of using the common cards, since they just take up space, and streamline the deck. Also having a balance of cards so that you don't just keep getting sneak and no treasure hunters.

Having a bunch of cards prevents a lot of stumbles playing right in a row though. There is definitely a balance to it and I think as they get deeper that balance will evolve

@@MuttonChops24 i know its the same chance to play, but if you only have like 6 cards then after only 3 or 4 minutes all that plays will be stumbles. If you have like 15 cards it will take almost 10 minutes to get to that point

the disadvantage of maxing out the common cards (rather than replacing them with fewer high level cards) is that you have to stay alive long enough for all of them to play

The advantage is that the more cards the lower the chance for stumble to play.

​@@pol...Not necessarily. Since stumble is randomly inserted it doesn't matter how many cards you have. You can have 5 cards or 20 cards but still have a chance of stumble coming up 3 times in a row early. Highly unlikely, but the potential is still there. The only absolute trump to stumble would be permanent ethereal cards.

im sure it was figured out by now, but the ravager that died around 19:00 seems to have suffocated in a hazard door. saddle was plopped right by a door that had been open at the start of the run

I think you have the right strategy. I have definitely noticed that more cards keeps folks in the dungeon longer and still getting out. That maximizes treasure and being able to go deeper and still make it out with an artifact. Keep it up!

Good move at 19:40. Too many folks have gotten killed running around a blind corner at the end -- completely forgetting that the easiest way to find a hidden ravager is by the sounds they make.

idk I feel like skipping the uncommons is bit troll. Maybe short-term more cards are better because you go through your entire deck quickly anyways, but every successful run you can get common cards, up to their limit, but uncommons are way, way rarer. Also, there might come a point were you don't want commons anymore

Wonderful runs Jevin! I would disagree with the deck building strategy as I think a lot of the commons can be bought at any time and maxing them out leaves later runs with wasted frost embers (unless you wish to go big on the trading scene too, certainly a strategy). Still, getting the infinite run glitch is certainly a good goal that I think is good to mimic. Best of luck with whatever strategy you choose, we'll be rooting for you!

Hey Jevin! I've really been enjoying your DO runs, no matter how they turn out :) I did want to bring something to your attention, because you seem like a really nice and welcoming guy; the terms "gyp" and "gypped" are pretty racist. They refer to "gypsies" (also a racist term since the Romani people are not from Egypt and do not accept that name) cheating and stealing from white people, which is obviously a racist stereotype. I grew up in the south using the same terms and never thought about them until this was pointed out to me. Thanks for sharing your runs, even when they don't work out how you hope!

The water out of that rock is a hazard trap. The water coming down in lvl 1 are clank traps.

When u have the embers to spend on uncommon or rare cards, i would suggest going for those vs maxing out on common cards. For instance, if you can have 1 card that blocks 7 clank, its more likely to be played instead of having 3 or 4 cards that block 2 clank. You might not be running the dungeon long enough for half of those to play. Im just saying, maximize whenever you can. If you want to actually compete with some of the hermits like Etho, Hypno, or Pearl, you have to maximize on your opportunities.

Something else to remember if you’re going to emulate Etho’s playstyle: he has 3 (max) Loot ‘n’ Scoot uncommon cards which allow him to pick up a lot more treasure than just having 5 Treasure Hunter cards. GG on the runs, Jevin! I like that you’re thinking about the game methodically. :)

Hi Jevin! I think one thing you should change with these runs is on your way back you could take a little risk to check the cript, or other loot spots, because I think you have the skill to not die, and at the end of the run there are a ton of treasure laying at those places. I think you could easily collect at least 24 coins, so 6 crowns per run! Good luck!

I would give the same advice I gave gem. There’s a lot of hermits playing do2 not everyone can have perfect runs. Not a 1 to 1 comparison so but one of the greatest football achievements was the dolphins a couple years ago where the front office was trading away any good players in hopes of losing for better draft potential and the team went out and fought and won the last five games despite it. Unfortunately it’s less of the audience that appreciates over coming advertising but they tend to hate the Patriots or Jeff Gordon’s that always win also.
