I love how the Trident drowned was sort of a “idk we should put something here” for Tango, thinking it would be just annoying or one more small obstacle like the cave spiders. But it’s turned into something the Hermits have to SERIOUSLY consider for those deeper runs. Such a welcome surprise and makes for great content.

Wait, if it was an afterthought, did no one suggest that “one-eyed” willie be a guardian? Less punishing, wouldn’t have to worry about it attacking the other beasts, more mobile, easier to spot, etc etc, all while still accomplishing the goal of preventing idling

Cubs first run today was brutal. Chased by eventually three ravagers starting at the level 2 entrance, cub was forced into willies territory, where he was sniped. The dungeon can be brutal due to ravagers and willie alike.

6:50 - (Willie has) "become so deadly" Willie is MVP of the dungeon, no question. Maybe in the past it might have been Pumpkin or Tango's Cough, but Willie is an absolute beast, the lagoon is his territory and he will tolerate no incursions into it.

I guess I should add that it seems the "Tracked Out" stats don't really bear out this "MVP of the dungeon" thing. According to those stats Willie is 6th on the list for most kills, behind Vex, three different Ravagers, and Lava. But he has his territory, and everybody who passes through it knows to fear him, or get sniped from across the room.

@@tetsujin_144 In phase 1, 2 & 3 only a few people did hard runs. But now in phase 4, Willie is #1 in number of kills, with 12 so far in the Tracked Out stats.

@@iveharzing I was wondering if that might be part of it, not as many people were going to level 2 early on and that might have impacted his numbers, but I couldn't really work out whether Willie's kill rate had picked up since level 2 runs became more common. I'm glad to know my confidence in Willie's abilities is well-placed.

Cub that run was EPIC. You should have been dead 5x over. What an adrenaline rush! Your clank block saved you so much there. It bought you all the time you needed to get out of lv2 and tank the stumbles.

Cub, that was an insane run. I don't think other Hermits appreciate the importance of berries. I often see others get to about 12-15 berries and think they are good to go. You got more than 20 berries and if you would have got one less berry, you would not have been able to escape that magma pit. Perfect play. Great job Cub!

@@tjfreckles1995 Yeah, I've noticed that too. Berries are more effective if you eat one berry when the whole hunger haunch goes down, not double or triple up on. a single haunch.

When you fall under the moving chains - lure the ravenger to the far side AWAY FROM THE VINE. Get him to see you and crouch under the ledge on the far side until he loses aggro - then sneak over to the vine and climb it + run back towards the bridge.

When decked out is over and all 8 phases have passed, you should definately ask Tango to put Willie in the museum. There he should be described as “the only one on the server with a sharper aim than Hotguy…”

While that is a great idea, keep in mind that DO won’t be done when all the phases are over. A winner will be declared, but Tango intends to try other things for fun like how he has hinted at two hermit runs after a DO2 winner has been declared. Also Wille will need to be there for the world download as well. Maybe Cub could get a imitation of Willie to put in the museum.

I fully agree. Berries at camp site then across river of souls into tnt room get the 3 berries from under bridge in drip stone cave. Get 2 berries in table room. Upstairs look for keys. If haven’t found one pick up the last few on top level Gets most berries avoids most annoying of the hazards if they activate.

The "players might fall off the side of the building" bit in Scabland reminds me of those sad stories of abandoned amusement parks where people were hurt or killed thanks to poor construction. Urban explorers tend to love that sort of thing after the fact, and thrillseekers love the danger while the parks are still around. Some real crazy stories out there. Your scaffolding-button game sounds like it could be fun, it'll be interesting to see that pan out.

For your second run, since you knew where willie was your best option was through the dripstone cave to the level 3 door, grab up all the treasure in the alcoves on the ships port side, then drip leaf parkour to mushroom area. Sometimes you need to go backward to move forward. Well done getting out of the trap, though! :)
