I did the math on the boats and concluded that there is ~984 of them. Math: Grian started out with 3 stacks of logs and 60 planks, and was then given 16 stacks of locks by Impulse. 1 stack of logs gives 4 stacks of planks, so 19 log stacks x 4 x 64 = 4864 planks. Adding the 60 planks he had already, that gives 4924 planks in total. Each boat requires 5 planks, so 4924 / 5 = 984,8 boats. Good luck clearing those out lol.

@@haaaah7 I think fire ticks are deactivated on Hermitcraft, so Lava would not burn placed boats, just Unplaced dropped boats, that also will despawn after 5 minutes.

I’m thinking that you/ren should join forces with the big eyes and build a “boatem returns department” building, then make all the boats stacked up and spilling out of the building. And just when they think it has been cleaned up, have another mega boat trap spring the way it did at the big eye shops and completely destroy boatem with boats. And put a bunch of goats in a bunch of the boats, but name the goats “shop at octagon” so that it spams the message when the goats get killed.

So crazy! My son and I were talking about how would you possibly even clean that up... we came up with an idea that he insisted we share. In the nether, create an ice channel between a new Octagon portal and a new Boatem one, then use water in the octagon to flush all the boats into the portal. Go to the other side and the entity collision should push them down the ice channel and dump all the boats right back out into Boatem.

Just checked iJevins episode, at about 24:41 min mark in his episode while talking to you and moving he seems to pick unnoticed to himself your pickaxe up. He did not seem to go for it intentionally. Maybe he still has it, and if you ask he'll give it back. You also could make a "Miss my pickaxe" papers on trees like the runaway pet papers..

@@seregruin nope, chances are, render distance will get shorter. Mojang will do their best do diminish that decrease in chunk distance, but the game is effectively loading 1.5 times the blocks. A decrease is inevitable.

If I remember right, they mentioned at the beginning of this season that one of the reasons they were all so close on the island together was so they could reset the chunks off the island when the update hit, so we might see some stuff this season, but given that everyone’s already got their bases laid out we probably won’t see huge bases, but some cool other builds for sure.

I wonder if the shadow technology could be used as part of the revenge. Like imagine Grian is grinding away collecting resources and doc does a fly by and Q-drops the shadow linked item. If it makes it into the target's inventory, it would suck away all those precious resources. If it's timed right, Doc could steal a bunch of resources as most hermits get into the grind groove and only empty their inventory when they notice they're not picking any more items up. (Or would a Q-drop mess up the system like clicking and dragging does?)

Another area hermits are scaling up is these custom biomes. It started with Scar doing all his magnificent teraining. Then, Ren scaled it up with a custom biome in season 7. Now, Cubfan has picked up the whole custom biome thing as well, Ren's doing it again too, and he's even roped you into the effort as well and made it an entire Octagon-wide project.

Honestly, as an early twenties fan who has been watching since season one, I'm glad a lot of the hermits have aged with their audience. It's the only minecraft content I can handle watching because you can tell there is a level of respect within the audience and other server members. Keep doing what you're doing Doc!

Doc! Boatem has several "empty lots" in the middle of the village. You should build an Octagon Bank... something that is semi-useful enough to not tear down, but that will definitely be in the way. Remember to include a giant billboard next to it!

The prank isn't that bad. It's easier to clean then mining actual blocks (like glass). You can destroy the boats remotely with a bow and using sweeping edge helps as well. Also if the inventory fills up quickly the boat items will just end up despawing quickly. I'd be interested to see the gold farm!

Doc, next time you go sand mining, you should take a small stack of items connected to a shadow item system similar to the ender pearl one - when you throw out an item though, it should trigger the smelter, so you can choose when you want to collect glass instead of it being half and half or all or none of it becoming glass.

I originally was going to recommend putting goats there, which would spread out when grian opens the door. However the goats will be noisy and would give it away.

alternative: Entity cram as many goats in minecarts into a single tile as is physically possible. Right in the center of Boatem. It only takes up a SMALL amount of space, but the lag and noise would be hilarious. totem based life insurance would be possible. step 1. shadowclone the 1 totem step 2. put one totem in the user's off hand. step 3. put the other one in a hopper with a comparator on it. step 4. hook the comparator on a pearl stasis chamber. step 5. profit... Now when someone dies, his totem activates and disappears. Then the stasis chamber will activate and you'll get teleported to a safe place.

Doc has mentioned several times that he is a hive mind. I would love a hermitcraft episode where he introduces us to the hive. Maybe a world tour of a hermitcraft backup with everyone or taking us on a tour of their worlds for his 1 million sub episode. For the shadow block technology, I am curious if you can zero tick an item into the hopper just as you use the last item to change what type of item is shadowed without having to reset it up.

Guessing here, but I am not sure that would work. Based on the explanations I have seen of it, it has to do with the ID number of the stack in the hopper and in your inventory being the same. But, as I understand it, new items would mean a new stack.

Hide goats in boatem. Dig little holes everywhere. With 1 or 2 Goats in each hole. A healthy amount of screaming goats for sure, but normal ones too. Especially around the boatem hole so their next meeting gets interrupted by bleating.

Doc, you could build a custom hat or skin for goats, with an Octagon advertisement on it. Combine that with a hidden underground redstone goat breeder that randomly pops an octagon-advertisement-goat into the boatem area every now and then.
