Get Doccy some Duplo (or similar) blocks….basically large-size Lego blocks, easier for small hands. Get him enough that he can build garage for toy cars, or barn for stuffed animals, etc, and show him how. Give him little tasks, “Can you build this?”, and show him a picture of a simple structure. He’ll grow his dexterity, imagination, creativity and, as he succeeds, his confidence.

It's just so refreshing to see a social media influencer who has a life outside of the internet and is responsible and kind to the people in their life. Doc is such a good role model (even if he does occasionally start wars with all of Canada) the absolute model of a happy healthy adult

Hey Doc, I just wanted to take some time to tell you how much I appreciate you and your videos! It's really nice to have a Minecraft channel to watch whose target audience doesn't appear to be children. I'm only 21, not very old at all but I've definitely outgrown the style of Minecraft content that seems to be very popular at the moment. I grew up watching Minecraft videos but it seems as though very few channels have grown up alongside me, and certainly most of the new ones that have popped up in the past few years have a younger demographic in mind. I thoroughly enjoy your longer format videos that end up being halfway between a podcast and a "regular" let's play, the stories about Doccie, the general sense of community with the fan art thumbnails, and obviously the insane shenanigans you and the hive mind get up to. It's the exact opposite of the whole "shorts" craze going around right now. That was a bit rambly but I hope I got my point across lol. Best of luck with your personal life as well, it sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now but we're all rooting for you! Much love

You could create an anvil redstone trap where you trip a trap door that opens beneath you sending you to the bottom of a pit. At about the same time, a trap door above you opens to release an anvil. When you hit the bottom, there's water or something to break your fall, but then the anvil comes and lands on you. Anvil - Rests atom the upper trap door Upper Trap Door - Triggers a short delay after the main trap door Cavity Trap Door - Opens on some kind of sensor causing the victim to fall into the pit below Pit - The fall itself won't kill you (look up)

1:30 I can believe it... After all, I don't need coffee, either. I may have a hard time getting out of bed in the mornings, but once I'm up and moving, I'm good to go, a bit like a boulder on a hill; I jest need to overcome that initial inertia.

It's incredible to think this hermitcraft season has only been going for 10 months. It always amazes me just how much you've all done in such a short time frame.

Love the vids man, my tip for Anvil Wars is you always looking downward at a slight angle, it is easier getting a good sight on target if looking completely straight down. I wish you the best in demolishing every hermit, Thank You.

Doc ranting at the start is so sweet xD I’m sure a lot of parent viewers can relate and were just nodding along and saying “yep. That sounds about right” xD

Your ranting about little Doccy speaks to my soul. My little girl just started nursery and brought home germs that meant she was off sick for a week... and both us parents caught it and haven't had enough sleep. I hope you and your family manage to throw off all the sicknesses quickly!

Seeing as you've unintentionally started an anvil war Doc, perhaps now is the time to install some anvil launchers to defend the perimeter. Grian won't respect charged creepers but maybe anvils raining from above will get the message sent.

Hiya docm! You want to really keep up with your kid(s)? I'll give you a good tip. Young children have a very short attention span between 0-10 minutes usually, so you plan play area time with a switch of items about every 10 minutes. 10 minute story time, 10 minute cooking lesson (make a simple sandwich for instance), 10 minute coloring, 10 minutes singing, 10 minutes view a cartoon, 10 minutes block building, 10 minutes playing cars, 10 minutes playing big brother to a doll, and there is pickup toy time too. That is how professionals keep children learning starting around age 2. I learned that from a friend that owned three daycare centers whom I spent time helping in a volunteer outreach. After having a family of my own I can say this helped me cope with parenting. I've parented for 35 years now, which does not include years helping raise siblings. I know when your child is sick, and/or your sick that the schedule goes right out the window. But I think you get that already. It is really hard to balance a job and children, even in two parent households. I very much admire your work, and the love you express for your family. Well wishes docm! Thank you for this video too.

Watching Hermitcraft can make it really easy to lose sense of normal scale in Minecraft. I prefer to watch rather than play the game myself so I don't really play much, and whenever I do, I never get very far. My houses always have one or two chests, maybe three. At one point during this video, I suddenly remembered/realised just how many double chests are in that room, let alone all the other components! How incomprehensibly massive even the "usual" super storage system known to this advanced, epic series is! It's amazing to me how quickly these incredible, huge huge huge projects become normalised in my mind, it can be difficult to remember just how much work the hermits put in, so I just want to say, right now while I feel like I'm truly appreciating the insane scale of Hermitcraft, thank you, Doc. Thank you for spending so long on so many amazing ways to keep making this game more and more interesting! You and all the hermits are doing so so great!!

Loved all the anvil shenanigans! It might need some testing, but I expect that looking straight down will be your best bet for lining up the anvil drop correctly.

Slime traps with anvils would be neat to see. Falling blocks are slow by default, but I'd be interested what the hive mind could come up with both for the trap trigger, and for any way to quickly accelerate anvils...

I haven't been on an active SMP in a long time. But when anvil wars get serious people start being afraid of going through their own doors, narrow hallways, traveling any covered path, etc. I really hope hermitcraft gets to that point. But tbh, dripstone is more deadly

When you were talking about the sleeplessness and the revolving door of germs, I wanted to come and give you a hug, andwatch over Doccy so you could have a nap, or go out for a few hours and catch up with some friends, or spend some time with your partner. Notwithstanding that I'm on the other side of the world and we don't actually know each other and that would be totally weird, but I hope you know what I mean, and that it's coming from a place of solidarity and not utter creepiness? Parenting a toddler can be as hard as it is rewarding, and it's bloody isolating, and sometimes you forget what it's like to have a conversation with another adult. And the 'too old for naps, not old enough to do anything independently or without constant supervision for even a minute' stage is brutal. Not sure if Doccy sleeps through the night but if they don't, that's even harder. There's this expectation that kids sleep through by that age that rarely matches reality, but parents going through it get little support and are often made to feel like they're doing something wrong if their kid can't sleep. My two are 12 and 15 now, and I promise you, it does get easier, but I also know it's hard to believe when you haven't slept in two years and can't remember when someone in the house didn't have a virus.

Fear not, Doc! You’re not ranting, you’re updating your viewers on what it’s like to be a parent and I think that’s awesome to hear it firsthand. Plus, many of us love Doccy because you do. It gives your videos a difference feeling that no one else on the server. Plus the juxtaposition of your fatherly responsibilities with lines like 1:30 just make me happy xD And going after Gem because the Canadians have declared war on the Perimeter for your first anvil kill after Etho, even if it was unsuccessful, was hilarious! You better watch out for Gem! She may appear and sound sweet but there’s a self-assured confidence beyond that innocent visage that puts her wise way beyond her age. It’s very apparent in any collab with Impulse. You don’t want to mess with her (as in, actually yes, you SHOULD mess with her, because you’ll get good content out of it.) Thanks for such a fun episode! Your sorting system is beautiful and there’s something about the unintentional cat farm that is apropos. Perhaps you could try to obtain all cat varieties and make a sanctuary for them somewhere in the perimeter? You could name them all Silence Me if you must. ;)
