Nice to see another twin pod headlamp admirer 😃. I remember people swapping stock headlamp on the first gen pulsars with small twin pod round headlamps, and they used to look so cool! In fact, I tried doing the same to my first gen Discover (couldn't afford the Pulsar), but the size of the pods were a little too big, so did not look that good. Heck, I'd love to have the same on the Speed 400!

There is 2-3 mm adjustment available to adjust the pulsar as per your need. Come one guys expected better. On Passing a trailer, any naked motorcycle will feel the wind regardless, my 390 adv does that my thunderbird felt it so did my as200 and fz25z. So crosswinds and trailer winds should be managed by rider to an extent rather than the bike.

Someone would be absolutely lying if they say a naked motorcycle was mot affected by crosswind. Heavy bikes like RE were affected so i doubt the crosswind part in this review.

Hi Shreyansh. A lot of people in India think about buying bikes budget-wise and don't really have specific segments in mind. So for a cost-sensitive country like ours, we thought specifying which bike was for whom made sense. Hope that helps 😊

Since Bajaj never really did test the NS400 in the real world conditions, that's why it has so many issues.. Idk why they would do that.. And probably the R&D was poor too..

Hey Manan, the Mavrick is definitely friendly enough for beginners, so yes :) Amd as for the mileage, we got about 27kmpl, but if ridden a bit gently, you can even get upto 30kmpl. Hope that helps 😊

Love Speed 400 but the sudden power rush, maintenance/service cost and mileage just make it expensive. Thats why for calm but agile rider like me mavrick makes more sense. NS400z is just Pulsar, nothing stands out. Everyone will see it as pulsar only and level it with 1lac pulsars.

@@arivu1701 User reported mileage on city is 25-27 and on highways its 28-30 for s400 being short stroke engine. Whereas maverick is 30-32 for city and 33-36 for highways due to long stroke.

There seems to be no near-perfect, affordable 400-450cc bike at the moment.. Hope the next NS400 variant will solve these issues..

For 40k extra maverick offers nothing much !! Instead changing brake pads and tyres on pulsar for 10k can get you stability and braking power for 10k.

It's not just about the tyres. The overall riding posture doesn't put much weight on the front and hence the front isn't loaded up as much as one would want. Plus the vibes are another issue :( Hope this helps ☺

The price point of mavrick top end is close to speed 400 which absolutely trashes the mavrick, so this comparo itself is flawed.

It is a decade old chassis and a decade old engine. The only thing newly developed is the headlamp. Most other parts are picked from other bikes and hence cheap.

Hey Sagar. There's been a lot of platform sharing for the NS400Z. The frame and engine is from the Dominar, styling from the NS200 and a lot of other such shared elements. Such things help shave off a big chunk of the cost. Hope that helps 😊

Reality check: 1. Pulsar 400 = ADOPTED Gen 3 Duke 373 cc engine. 2. Mavrick: ADOPTED Harley 440 cc engine. Both "DESI" companies just acquired and tuned "VIDESHI" engines accordingly.

Hey Jyoti, the Pulsar's engine is a proper short stroke one, meaning it's performance-oriented and revs much higher. The Mavrick's engine is a long-stroke, retro one. It's focus is torque, instead of horsepower to make riding easy. Hope this helps 😊

@@zigwheels I agree that our market is cost sensitive but between the ns400z and the mavrick mid model which is the only acceptable model that people should buy, the price difference is almost 37k. Which I think is a big difference for an average india buyers. I think the ns400z price wise can only be compared to 200ccs price wise. It doesn't really have a cc to cc competition at its price bracket. The mavrick is going for an entirely different customer and ns 400z is going for a totally different customer.

I'm with Amol on this one. Clean, well designed panels/tank look more sophisticated than badly done graphics. Case in point - first gen Pulsar and RR310 look way better than their stickered up successors
