This is an excellent list for beginners (like me). There's so much choice in this game that it's great to have a few easy and safe options that you won't regret investing in. As for Mojo, he works well for the Hydra heads, so very worth putting some effort to unlock his violet ability (which does huge damage to the Hydras).

An interesting video for sure. I've been playing for less than a year and avoiding spending real world cash for the most part, so I'm only at team level 100, and there are a number of heroes I don't have yet. What I've done right from the point where I had more than five heroes, is to watch to see who is weakest / dies quickly, and then see if I can build them up, or replace them for a better result. I also watch which opponents are the most difficult to deal with, as candidates to build the team and to build depth for the Grand Arena and the Tower. Some of the recommendations here surprised me, as I found them disappointing, at least up to about level 50. Beyond that point I really had to pick and choose who to "invest" in, but one day I suppose I've have most of the heroes maxed out, and discover that their high level utility is better than what I saw in the early going. Anyway, my top five for now are Galahad, Astaroth, Astrid, Thea, and Maya. K'arkh is my first choice to replace a tank that falls, as Aurora has not worked out. Ginger is my first backup for Astrid, Mojo is my first backup for Maya, and I'm building up Martha as fast as I can to back Thea. Lars is actually one of my six strongest, but I'm still working to get Krista on a par with Lars so I can pair them up. Lilith will be my next strong tank, as she seems to have a lot of endurance in a fight. Some of the others I continue to work on just because I need them in Outland, but that's mostly a matter of using leftovers not needed by the higher level heroes, or items I can buy cheaply is the shops. My top pet far and away is Oliver. Anyway, I just play for fun. I'm still trying to defeat the boss at the end of chapter 10 in the campaign, my guild is still mired in the Qualifying league, and I've only made it to the top of the tower four times so far, but I don't try to do everything every day. That would be too much like work.

I want to add these points for newer players who may see this comment: 1) When you start the game, buy 5 Jorgen soul stones per day until you are able to summon him. AND THEN STOP!!! Skin stone chests are MUCH more valuable to your team, particularly in getting your tank's armor skin. ONLY purchase extra Jorgen stones if you already have enough to purchase a skin stone chest (usually leftover coins from an event). Jorgen's stones come at a significant tradeoff to skin stone chests, and his star level really doesn't matter (his first and fourth abilities are all you care about). I advise opening his soul stones from the monthly rewards chest after you've been playing for ~6 months and have your tank and damage dealer at ultimate star. 2) Keira is an amazing damage dealer, but part of the reason is her armor penetration skin. This is only available during winter fest. She's a great hero without it, but she's a terrifying hero when she has it. 3) Maya is a solid hero from the Arena shop. Astaroth/Maya/Jorgen/Martha/X is a solid defensive team. The X can be an extra tank, an agility hero like Nebula or another damage dealer, or Luther to split opponent's attention while Maya DPS's everyone. 4) I think it's a bad idea to have a "PvP team" and a "Campaign/Outland Boss" team. Especially for newer players, all resources should be funneled into their PvP team. Don't have one yet? Then don't spend any skin stones, artifact components, enchantment runes, or artifact coins until you do. Why emphasize PvP teams? Because that's what makes you valuable to guilds. [Note: disregard this point if you only want to mess around in the game and quit after a month or two; however, if you want to rise up to a gold/silver guild and play regularly for the foreseeable future, then you gotta focus on top 5 heroes and a strong titan team].

Hi, I am very happy to find this good video and your interesting comments. Actually, I just played this game for less than a week. Currently my team level are 42 and I focus all my resources (skin, glyph, artifact) on astaroth and keira, but I am hardly to reach more than level 25 on the tower, is there any suggestion to be more effective?? What should I do for tower and in the future? My top 5 are asta, galahad, keira, celeste & martha. I just got Jorgen and Orion this day. Really appreciate for your thought..

@@greenminer712 best way for me to clear the tower is to not take team exp quests which allow ur heroes to catch up to ur team level,im level 48 and never lost a single tower run and all levels at 3 stars, regardless it is also a better way to progress in the game though it does slow u down but its way more efficent per level especially if u play for free.

You MUST invest in Orion, because you MUST clear the tower every day to get all the gold, and you'll have so many tower coins you don't know what else to do with them. Also, you need some investment into Galahad because he's the only easily obtainable hero for Vadjar in Outland.

Hi, now my top 5 are asta, gala, celeste, keira, martha. I heavily focus all my resources for asta and keira. Do think I must have 6th and 7th heroes for helping me in the tower? Now, I'm 6 days already playing the game for level 42, and just got jorgen and orion from the merchant. Appreciate for your suggestion..

@@greenminer712 you need to let your hero level catch up with your team level. By getting too far ahead, you are facing heroes of much greater strength than what you have. It may take a bit, but do not take the bonuses that offer team xp (I know, it's hard - want the gold!) and use the freebie or even purchased hero xp potions to catch your heroes up. Once you do it will be MUCH easier to complete the tower.

This was super helpful. I've watched just about all your videos and as a result have tried different teams. While I have truly enjoyed playing around with builds, I don't have necessary have the strongest 5 because my top 5 has evolved. I personally am glad I have 12 playable hero because it give flexibility and keeps it interesting but I could see where someone would be frustrated that they have fallen behind on the hero sides pursuing a variety of teams.

I agree with your choices Charlie. I am in a Gold guild now, and I have never regretted investing in the heroes you have named. They all can have a role in the Grand Arena, and a few can dance in the gold level guild wars as part of meta teams.

I don't agree with Mojo as choice, he is good only for boss fights. Faceless should get priority over him. Maya is better choice too, and on facebook she may be bought from arena shop. Markus is better choice too, he may save your main dd in pvp with his ultimate and in some builds (maybe Lothar+Helios), he fits perfectly

Nice content per usual. I think I'd also add to players to keep up with Astaroth and Keira's soul stones daily from the campaign. I've been playing for awhile now, and I really wish I had started farming their soul stones from the very beginning.

I was a bit surprised that Qing Mao wasn't mentioned here. She is as easy to get as Jorgen and she is a great physical damage dealer plus she has great synergy with any other physical damage dealers due to her ability to damage the enemy armor with every standard attack (which usually hits the whole front row) and her artifact that grants armor penetration to the whole team when she triggers her special. Since her special deals great damage to the front row characters, it is also quite likely to score kills with it and thus recharge her engergy quickly to repeat it soon. Particularly deadly if combined with Keira, who does an insane amount of extra damage if her armor penetration is higher than the enemy's armor.

That's a good point; I use QM in my Keira team for some of those reasons. She's also real good when paired with Galahad, who has no penetration of his own. To play devil's advocate, the case against her is that the two best physical attacking heroes (Karkh and Keira) have their own armor penetration skin, penetration artifact, and penetration glyph. At level 99, my Keira has 27K penetration, which already deals bonus damage to nearly everything she touches. As such, it's better to have a team that can protect them and keep them alive (or enhance their damage through Nebula).

Are you at end game? I’ve heard at end game once Keira has her AP maxed, Qing Mao isn’t as useful. You’d rather have better support heroes.

Not at end game, and I'm not sure if I'll take QM that far. I didn't take daily experience until the mid-60's, so my Keira team couldn't rely on the ricochet to carry. QM's armor reduction made it so that I could get through the tanks a lot easier when her penetration was lower. Still, she's pretty useful in max stat battles when giving the team enough penetration to overcome the tank and her ultimate's ability to push back the front line. Replacing QM in a Keira team is more a function of where you want your team to go. Sebastian has been getting a lot of hype, especially when combined with Jet, but you still can't go wrong with Jorgen or Nebula. I don't like using a team to fully support Keira since her abilities are not as effective as Karkh, so you may as well just use him if that's what you want to do.

@Sparticus Booker Doesn't Ginger have similar issues with dying easily to AoE damage? IIRC, Ginger has some of the lowest HP at max stats. As such, she's vulnerable to to Karkh, twins, Keira ricochet, Galahad, etc. Though I do agree that Ginger is a bit underrated since she has high physical attack and an easily-obtainable penetration skin (unlike Keira, where you need to wait for winter).

I'm using Qing Mao against the Hydra. Her percentual damage is very strong against bosses. I also use her in the tower. Good to know she has synergy with Keira.

Some good points, I would also add faceless in there as a top 10 - or top 15 hero as he is so versatile, unpredictable and can be added to a lot of PVP and PVE teams, Sebastion is also handy for PVP - PVE but is difficult to obtain unless there's an event for him.

Faceless Doppleganger duplicating Cornelius Heavy Wisdom for double damage to enemy will kill almost anything. Usually in the back rank.

@@kevinacecox Faceless white skill, level to level, is 2x of other heroes. So you can have a weak hero you want to swap in and out of and then let faceless copy it at very high level.

Yep, I have done that with her, and it has helped me through some campaign levels. When she goes off with Mojo or Damian they Screwed. She also works well in Outland.

Not sure for mobile but in FB, Nebula is available in the lesser hero soul stone chest (gives 50 hero soul stones)as well (which we get 1 per month from the daily bonus) as well as the hero soul stone chest (gives 100 hero soul stones). Martha and Celeste is also available (as well as all other heroes except Jet and Cleaver and Sebastian for now)

Fortunetely i have Asteroth and Keira in my main team. I don't have success in Tower (my Orion only 2 stars). I started to invest Jorgen and Mojo few weeks ago and as i can see it's worth Mojo (with Faceless) are awesome againts Brog The Conqueror (at lvl 55 beat the lvl 80 outland boss :D). Can Nebula fit a physical team like Dorian, Keira, Quing Mao, Asteroth? Martha and Celeste are awesome healers but hard to upgrade them :(

Only on Facebook. Mobile doesn't give such a thing so regularly. 7 months of logging in and playing everyday and I have never received a soul stone chest. It took 7 months to summon all heros (except Cleaver, Jet) and my last summon was martha one soul stone at a time for watching ads, and that was doing it strategically. I can only imagine how long it would have taken if I didnt just summon chabba instead of waste more days getting him one soul stone at a time.

I ow his flaws from your vids, but he does solid damage and theres obviously no easier Hero to get! Even when you get better tanks and better damage dealers, he’s still able to help teams even at higher levels!

I like Galahad for certain teams, but he's got limited uses if you don't know what team you want. In certain end game teams he's the best tank, but will hinder you in other team builds.

I got for a while team in fortress Galahad, Luther, Qin Mao, Celeste and Thea and i alweys end the tower but i was thinking whould i go double heals or more power dmg? if more dmg then if Jhu is good too ad too the team instead of one of heals or maby beter go for jorgen? when i saw once jorgen and jhu they totally destroy me so im little confused now.

My team Ziri, Qing Mao, Ginger, Celeste, Artemis have been doing great but I am just not sure if it is best team or if I am missing something. I just started playing last week and have reached level 50 and I feel maybe I am leveling up to fast and would like to make sure if they are the best team to keep investing resoures in. I feel like you dont really need to invest in Mojo, since most of his support is based on his purple skill that does dmg over time, so basically you could have a 2 star mojo lvl 130 with only his purp skill maxed and still provide good support (he doesnt need to be alive for the skill to work)

I'm at lvl 69 and top 700 in Grand Arena... My deffesnive teams are: Galahad-Elmir-Maya-Keira-Dorian Luther-Astaroth-Qing Mao-Jorgen-Martha (best deffensive team by far: Luther attracts enemy fire, Qing pushes enemies to him and the rest keeps him alive. If Qing doesn't finish the job, time does) Lilith-Krista-Celeste-Lars-Orion Mojo i got at lvl 65 and still use him for Outland. Nebula i got... but can't find a place for her :( ; nor i see her that good... at all.

We had a debate about Ziri a couple days ago. I had got her because she was the only SO CALLED good tank at the time i could get for my 3rd team in grand arena. But she kept burrowing getting my team killed. Then a month later i got Cleaver in a chest. So i started with Galahad, Astaroth, and Auroa. I then changed Auroa to Rufus then to Ziri then to Cleaver. Each one i put about 30k into, Ziri i think i have 35k into. Cleaver comes out the chest already good and better than those 3 TANKS

@@minidragbike people always complain about ziri but on my teams she's fine, she has like 125k hp at lv 80, most teams cant take out 80k hp lol, and after that, the pet shield stalls for her to come back. when my pet gets to purple, i wanna see them out out ziri with my pet healing her 5k hp a second lol.

Thanks for the advice. I had stayed away from Celeste due to Soul Stone issues. Mojo got me through the first couple of campaigns really well, but again ran into lack of soul stones because they require more energy than any other Hero in campaigns.

Maybe you didn't encounter Helios yet. Helios is the most expensive hero and has two places in the campaign with 24 Energy cost and zwo with 30 Energy cost. So Mojo is comparably cheap with his 18 Energy places. Also Krista is more expansive than Mojo. She has three places with 20 Energy cost.

I'm team level 127 now about to click over to 128. I'm using Martha, Jorgen, Luther, Qing Mao, and Cornelius. Occasionally I substitute in Orion or Galahad. Getting Qing Mao and Galahad early makes them easy to put into a great team.

I Also put Qing Mao duet with Keira as Physical dmg dealer. Great Combo in my opinion, coz Qing Mao lowering enemy armor and Keira skil can deal a lot dmg when the enemy armor is lower than her. Make me easier to fight against tanky enemy.

Great video, i have all of the above heroes but i got Astaroth quite late. Martha and Celeste is got straight out of the hero and lesser hero soul stones chest.

@Sparticus Booker Yes, we can get him early in the game but before his revamp, Astaroth was weak as a tank. It is only after his skills and artifacts was changed that he greatly improved to being effective as a tank. This is the reason I got him late.

Here are the 11 heroes I'm investing in to this day (team level 84): Astaroth Celeste Jorgen Orion Martha Keira Nebula -- Faceless Galahad Qing Mao Helios And the heroes I'm planning to invest on later to form my teams of 15. Definitely not F2P, but it's almost impossible to have the best synergies without paying a little. K'arkh Dorian Andvari Jet So if you're looking to build your teams, this is how I do it, and I'm very happy with the outcome.

I would caution spending resources until you join a guild you want to stick with for f2p players. A guild that grows to climb the rankings ladder is your best resource! Progressing in PVE and PVP is rewarded in guilds with fair GMs as it helps the guild earn more rewards in guild wars and Titan dungeon.

I just started playing this month and finding it difficult to spread my resources wisely throughout my team. I started out with a team of 5 but then picked up several heros that I felt could be of better use like Celeste, Martha, Bob, Jorgen and a few others and my resourceinput has been all over the place. With skill upgrades, items to promote (violet), glyphs and artifacts. Do I prioritize one hero at a time (in this case Astaroth) or evenly spread and when my first team is leveled up work on my 2nd team? It's been alot to take in 😅 Thanks for your help Charlie and all your videos I'm watching this week lol

Since the tower provides so many upgrades for your party you need a team that can beat it, or at least get as high as possible. Alejandro gave me some useful advice in my comment. Basically Astaroth, Martha, Jorgen, Nebula, and another source of damage like Kiera and then bulk them to violet and generate as many soulstones as you're able. Apparently Jorgen doesn't need more than three stars so the stones you'd get for him are better spent on skin boxes so you can get the armour peircing skin for Kiera which turns her into a real beast. Try to keep their levels close to your party level so you're not out-leveled in the tower. Once you have your tower party you can focus on your other units, building them up one or two at a time. On skins pick armour/hp skins for tanks, and piercing skins for DPS units.

I currently will have Astaroth, Celeste, Faceless, Martha and Bob as the team that's getting ne through the tower for the first time this week (just hit 40 on mobile) I've noticed Martha is extremely slow at activating her heal it's frustrating cause I'm losing health but that's where Celeste has helped out. I planned on swapping in Nebula but I do also have Kiera and Jorgen almos in violet. When you mentioned the soul stones are you referring to the ones in the Outland shops? So if I can enough stones (5coins for a skin) you recommend I get Kiera armor piece? How do you think I should go about artifacts, glyphs and gifts of elements? Thanks for your time 🤙

The idea seems to be that getting an artifact to level 3 means their ability will always activate, so again if you're pumping up one of your main party you want those abilities to come on when required. Other than that it's just down to what you want to build up. The same for anything else. Don't go overboard investing in anyone outside your main party until you've gotten them pumped up, then pick one character you like and then build them up too. Congrats on completing the tower. I was at 65 before getting through it, because I had little idea what I was doing.

Great information. I am on lvl 45 and by 50 I expect to have 2 teams. One Galahad/Astaroth, Qing Mao, Kiera, Jorgen, Martha. The other one Astaroth, Satori, Orion, Celeste. Now should I have Cornelius or Martha or Jorgen or any other?? I don't have access to silver in guild, so there is one limitation I suppose.

My team is at Level 85 and it is Astaroth, Galahad, Daredevil, Sebastian and Thea. However I’m struggling in Chapter 10 Cursed Waters. I have Jorgen at level 80 but he just hasn’t done it for me. Keira is at 50. I will invest in her. Where is the love for Daredevil? She has won me so many battles. Her one on one damage is amazing. Thea is so frustrating.

I have 4 of these in my main team: Astaroth, Keira, Jorgen, and Martha. I do have a couple of questions though. First, why not Galahad? While I am just poking around, he is able to clear chapter 6 and possibly some of chapter 7 solo. Second, do you have a video on Arachne? I missed her during the initial chance to get her, but this week I got both her and Peppy from the hero chest. She looks like she could be quite formidable, so am wondering why so many people look down on her.

Hi Charlie. Why do you pair Nebula with K’arkh and Faceless when her buff to Magical Attack is so much higher than Physical attack? Wouldn’t she be better with the twins?

nebulas artifact gives attack damage, and even though magic dmg is 2x more, attack damage applies to not only abilities, but also auto attacks so it evens out. a keira auto attack+ult with nebula buff wipes a tower wave alone.

My PC main party at the moment is Galahad, Astaroth, Nebula, Thea, and Martha, with Oliver for the pet. Basically they play the grind game trying to keep my damage dealers alive long enough to kill the enemies. Heading for Violet +1 on them now. I buy 5 Jorgen stones every day. He's level 3 now, but I'm just going to keep grinding him up. I can clear the tower most days, but sometimes I just run into a team that's better than mine.

What your team lacks is a good damage dealer. Galahad is okay but his damage output is mediocre at best (unless you invest heavily on him - which is expensive resource-wise and time consuming). Also with Martha and Nebula, you should be able to keep your team alive already so there really is no need for Thea. I recommend getting a damage dealer like K'arkh, Keira, Jhu or Fox and replace Thea with Jorgen (even at lower levels, Jorgen is performs well and does not need a lot of upgrading to be effective) or any other support heroes like Sebastian, Faceless or even another damage dealer like mojo or orion (preferred).

Violet +1: Galahad 3, Astaroth 3, Nebula 2, Aurora 2 Violet: Thea 3, Martha 3, Cornelius 4, Luther 3, Dark Star 3, Faceless 3, Sebastian 3, Celeste 3, K'arkh 3, Arachne 2, Jorgen 3, Ishmael 2 Blue +2: Qing Mao 3, Maya 3, Keira 2 Blue +1: Judge 2 Blue: Orion 3, Elmir 3, Lian 3, Phobos 2, Artemis 2, Daredevil 2, Fox 2, Heidi 1 Green: Kai 3, Chabba 3, Ginger 2, Dante 3 Grey: Lilith 3, Markus 2, Rufus 2, Mojo 2 Based on what you've said the two quickest to power up, given they're already violet would be Jorgen and K'arkh. I just need to start pumping gold into their skills. So Astaroth, K'arkh, Jorgen, Nebula, and Martha.

Besides the tower, you should also consider campaign, Outland and grand arena/arena. Your team maybe good as a defense team but on offense, it won't last long. You need more offense so start building one. Experience-wise, my team is composed of tank, jhu, nebula, Jorgen (or Orion) and Martha with Oliver or Albus as pet. Very good defensively and effective also on offense. I am already on chapter 15, last boss in the campaign using said line up.

Well, if you aren't lucky and get Martha quickly, you'll have to invest some in Thea, but she isn't one of the top healers, so that's a character you maybe shouldn't invest too much in.

Ishmael is the best for tower, coz when you start battle their skills is already activated, now when you activate his demonic skills, he will slice of all the enemies without boosting their skills unlike other heroes when you use your skills they also active the opponents skills
