HeroQuest: Against the Ogre Horde Availability, Closer Look; READ DESCRIPTION

Soooooo, since the Druid is confirmed to be the character class included in this set, and since it breaks the pattern of including the new character classes from the HasLab campaign with the quest expansion packs of that campaign, do we think that "Crypt of Perpetual Darkness" is locked behind the doors of a Manganiello vault and won't get a retail release? If so, what possible new character classes could be included in future releases? Hypothetically, if we get a Dwarf and Wizard expansion, we get gender variants of those character classes, and if we get "The Wizards of Morcar", we can expect probably some new character class there or at least a new sculpt (I think a variant of the Monk might be interesting, especially since we have male and female Monks already, so the big change could be a Monk from a different culture or region allowing for more worldbuilding).

Definitely strange to me that we got a new Druid sculpt-- logically it wouldn't make sense to have another Druid release now. But the Druid wasn't at all part of the manganiello expac, so I'm lost as to why we don't get the original sculpt! I know folks do a lot of comparison to D&D when it comes to classes, but I do think a good hole to fill in the current roster would be along the lines of a Cleric of some type. Whether this is more defensive for healing or more offensive for fighting undead...there's lots of possibilities!

the furniture will make some great Mimics. 4:56 the CG ogres are stretched a bit, they're only 2 square monsters (which is still plenty big!)

I played the original of this back in the day and I’m surprised they didn’t nerf the dominate spell that’s face up in your video. Possible spoiler…. In the original IIRC Festral could use this power and force the hero dominated to walk into the pit of chaos or whatever they call it now, which according to the quest book causes them to fall under the evil wizard/morcar/zargons control for ever. Basically if you get to cast that on the Barbarian or Dwarf it’s curtains due to their low mind points.

Had the original in the 1990's. Can't remember if I ever got to play it. Huge part of my childhood so very nostalgic. Recently got HeroQuest (2 weeks ago) and almost have all the expansions.

The other pictures I've seen floating around from other sources seem to show that the backs of the 2 "small rooms" that used to be back to back (the Carpet & the Magic Circle) and the other side of the Arena room all have similar designs. I suspect they might be used in the Arena mode itself (which apparently uses the large Arena tile, 2 double doors & the 2 small rooms as starting areas) whilst during quests we use the nice patterned rooms on the other side - with the golden "Arena" actually being the Ogre Lord's throne room. But this is pure speculation.

What i would like are companions, animals or humanoid, that can be played with a full party like mercenairies. We tried snowdasher, but its simply too good. I do like that it takes the place of a hero with the current stats, as this could be a door to implement more companions that are stronger than mercs and possibly almost hero-like in regard to special abilities.

Wow, can`t find it anywhere. Does anybody know the current status for the other languages? German, Italian, French and Spanish? Haven`t heard anything about them. But I guess they must have plans for them, because the photos from that show in France showed the stuff in french language if I`m not mistaken.

This has happened every HQ release so far - they seem to get their stock in waves which isn't a surprise, and the page is turned invisible. If this isn't the case, I'd expect a refund on my order in the next few days.

Well this sucks, Pearl Jam just announced a tour and I spent a dragon's horde (is the misspelled pun acceptable?) on tickets.... and now I need to buy this. This came at the worst possible time for me. I've wanted this expansion for over 15 years and I guess I will have to wait a few more weeks. I'll be watching your unboxing the day it's uploaded! that will just have to do until I replenish my coffers. Seriously next to the re-launch of HQ this was the expansion I looked forward to the most, The Frozen Horror was a close second. But this one just seemed more fantastical to me. Glad it is finally here! A little sad it seems the tracker was removed, would have liked it as an alternative to the static monster stats.

Nope! There is a suggested order put out by Avalon Hill, but this is only to help immerse one self in the lore. Every expansion is designed to be played directly after the game system's 14 quests.

I can swear to you this game is not available in Europe. It hasn't been announced yet as coming out any soon. I mean, The Prophecy of Telor isn't out yet right here, and the best date they can give us is Spring 2024 which can be anytime, we between end of march up to mid june. So against the Ogre Horde? Boy, if it's out in Europe before Christmas we will be lucky and happy with that!

Mine is slated for delivery tomorrow! While overall I’m excited for this expansion, I’m disappointed that they 100% changed up the Druid (including the mini & back of the cards - even if they left the front the same?!?) - and then did NOT give us a beast form mini!! I mean, they gave us a Demon form of the Warlock (even if it’s just a red gargoyle) - why not the Druid?!? Maybe it’ll say to use the wolf mini for the beast form if you aren’t using it as a companion….but still. They then should have changed the actual front of the card art and changed it from a bear to a wolf. I’m not sure why - but that overall just bugs me. That’s just nitpicking, really - everything else looks top notch and am super excited to get this tomorrow!

One last thing I’m disappointed with is the actual retail date….I’ve seen others post they should get theirs today, mine shows tomorrow, and you’re saying next week (to week and a half). And other regions in the world don’t even have a way to purchase theirs yet. This didn’t fix or alleviate the issue of shipping in waves for preorders. I guess at least you know it if you buy it now you’re getting it now - instead of being the first to preorder and maybe the last to receive it when it does ship. But lots of people will be mad with the US getting it first….

I picked up my copy here. Seems odd that you can't order it through Hasbro Pulse. Everything has always been available through that outlet. I wonder too if there is a much smaller number of this initial release. With all the changes at Hasbro, maybe that's affecting how the HeroQuest line is being managed. Maybe they are consolidating delivery channels and limiting first run inventory.
