He was on an episode of 'The Bubble' (which was presented by David Mitchell) and one of the contestants actually told David that Robert calls him 'My David'! I have to say that there were quite a few reactions from David and Robert when that was mentioned!!! xD

I'm not that bothered about the Doctor changing sexes, but I wonder why the focus is that he's going to be a woman, rather than the Doctor being transgender. Maybe it means they don't want to make a big deal out of the gender identity, so it just doesn't matter what the Doctor's body is like in relation to the mind. Maybe the Doctor doesn't have gender identity.

Involuntary Celibacy should not be a phrase associated with self-obsessed and bitter wankers like that! There are some seriously awesome people out there who just don't know how to interact fluently, they should be given the gift of the name InCels! If you bring your celibacy on yourself via your personality or your inability to take pain or get over things... That's not really involuntary, is it?

I disagree that the gender of Doctor Who is unimportant. I always thought the whole point was that the doctor was an entirely male character: aloof, idealistic, whimsical, distracted, meta, lateral, head in the clouds essentially. Then his partner was a woman: Calm, consigned, supportive but critical, always looking at the process behind the problems, bringing the Doctor back to earth, back to his responsibilities, back to the people he loves. It is the Grail story, not the stupid King Percy one, but the original one. The art of sacred union, the only truly godly form humans can take. Of course these two roles can be played by any gender, but they MUST retain these traits. Thankfully I'm not a mad DWHO fan, so even if it went very badly it wouldn't scar me, but I do believe the art of sacred union is still today the key to all existence and I hope they didn't remove those symbolisms when the Doc became a lady.
@bulletproofblouse

Some of the comments about Robert's book have followed a similar vein to the female Doctor Who; "Should be titled 'How to pander to the latest generation of man hating feminisationist scum in order to raise some shekels'". It's kind of ironic statement, given that hating a man for even daring to question the terms of how he was raised in a way that tells others that they don't have to follow a bunch of rules that aren't even written down is probably the most misandrist thing ever. (and if you were the only person left in the world, why would anyone have any fixed abode? Just make sure you have a wank in every house you choose to rest in)

bulletproofblouse I can't think of anything more pathetic than people getting upset about the gender of a FICTIONAL ALIEN. Ps woo Contrapoints 👍
@lwaves
@lwaves 7 жыл бұрын
+smoni19 Agreed, Some people seem to forget that whole 'fictional alien' thing. The one that always makes me laugh at those people is when they try and say that you wouldn't make Bond female, or Iron Man a woman or whoever they chose. They forget that there's one massively major difference between all these characters and the Doctor. Not one of them is capable of regeneration.
@Fractometry
@Fractometry 7 жыл бұрын
I could see changing Bond significantly. Because he's either a very old agent, or there are many different realities that each have a Bond, or who Bond is changes over time.
@simonjacobs19
@simonjacobs19 7 жыл бұрын
Frottjeif I suppose he regenerates like Dr. Who in a way. When he's captured and executed, someone replaces him.
@lwaves
@lwaves 7 жыл бұрын
+Frottjeif +smoni19 I don't think any of the Bond theories really work 100% (last time I checked). The best one for me was always that a new agent took over the name and number each time. It explains the change of looks, personality, age and place in time. But Skyfall put a hole in that by confirming that JB was his birth name etc. He definitely doesn't regenerate like the Doctor in any way. With Bond it's best not to think about it too much, as it doesn't really matter, just accept that different actors play the role in different stories. As long as they don't officially redo any of the official films it'll work. :-)
