Are you on crack or what? It’s like a how not tutorial.

Well, if anyone watches this video and thinks walls are going to be straight with a decent flat surface below skirting board level to sit 10mm packers along to follow, and you simply create a dig jigsaw to glue down, you're in for a shock.

Whilst not having put a glued floor down before , please can o ask if having used glue to hold the floor is the edge 10mm gap critical. If so why is 10mm seems to be the standard gap irrespective of the length/width of the wall . Is there not a ratio to arrive at the right gap ? Thanks

Yes there is a ratio but it varies for different flooring types. Solid woods and bamboo need more expansion gap than engineered or laminate floors. The 10mm guide is a rule of thumb generally accepted to be appropriate for a wide range of floors in domestic living environments. Very large rooms often need additional allowances. In almost all cases the gap will be covered by skirting, shoe moulding or some other trim.

Someone, explain me why he draw line 4cm to the left as a starting point and erased Central line? It won't be in the centre no?

To aline both the offcuts down the side walls the same I think. also when you start out an herringbone floor you don't start at the point off the board you should measure half the width off board this then should align with the centre line off the room

Suppose that’s one way of doing it, me personally I lay the middle then work each side out then do all the cuts afterwards

can you stand on it immediately after gluing? or do you have to lay the rest of the floor without stepping on already laid pieces?
