Great video of the Hershey I loved most. . I loved taking my kids here every year in the 80's and 90's and in later years my grandkids. Back then it was quiet and not very crowded. Spotless clean. Eventually it became too much and I stopped entering the park but still visited Chocolate world and Tudor square ( the original entrance way/area to the park). Now with even that gone it's even more sad. It's been replaced with Chocolate Town. Chocolate Town? I see no town there. Just boring open space. The original was more of a town and more interesting with a better atmosphere. I still go to Chocolate World with my wife now and then but only in the off season because the crowds are overwhelming. I know for park enthusiasts the progress is a good thing, but for this nostalgic old man It's sad. I miss it. Thanks for posting this 😊

Wow, never saw this video before until now. Are those black tea cups? Where are they located at the time in the park? Also, what was the name of the band definitely a lot different looking and different people then today’s entertainment at the park

$16.75 admission price!!!! WHAT??? Now it’s $67. At this rate, in another 30 years it’ll be about $120 to get in!

hi john, Thanks for uploading such a cool vid from a time when vids weren't being shot by everyone and their sister. 😄 I was wondering if I could use a couple ride clips for the review vid I'm editing right now of our recent Hershey Park stop of our national coaster tour. The last time I was there was right in this era in the 80's. I will give full credit to you as a voice over, title screen and description. Let me know. Either way it was just fantastic to see this video from "my" childhood! 😄😄😄

I remember back when Great Adventure was the roller coaster park I always wanted to go to but rarely did and Hersheypark was the family park. Now Hershey has more coasters, and they did it without sacrificing much of what was there before. The two things I miss are the Giant Wheel and the Coal Shaker. I didn't even go on the giant wheel much but it was such a part of the iconic look of the park that it's missed. And there is a tea cup ride there that really isn't much different than the coal shaker, but it was more than that. It was loud, clunky and brown and just very of it's time and I miss it. Oh yeah, and the guy who used to rob the train. He scared me as a kid

Wow, I think some of those kiddie rides ( the bees and ladybugs,) may still be there. Does the aqua show even have dolphins anymore? Everyone in this video is 31 years older! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I was 19 in 88. Wish I could have seen ticket prices at start, I'm guessing 15 bucks, pushing 70 now!

@Alexis Vick thanks for the update, I was at the park on July 19th, got to ride candymonium 4 times and many other rides. I should have waved to you from the tram. 😀

All those rides still exist except for coal shaker and mini whip. A lot of them have been repainted and rethemed though.
