HexBug Nano - 'The KRAKEN' - maze challenge - Toughest yet! (65+ V1 & V2 Nanos)

Watch as circa 65 HexBug Nano V1 and V2s are defeated again and again by this mighty KRAKEN maze!
If you watch to the very end you will see that there is a single HexBug warrior winner.
One of the highlights for me is if you watch carefully just after 16:00 you will see a Black HexBug Nano V1 that manages to go through all of the 7 playground pieces lined up - all in one go!
That is 3 see-saws + 2 Horizontal rollers + 2 Vertical rollers.
The next Mega Maze planned will be a Battle Maze that will include 4 x Battle Arenas!

They are great, there are no rules, therefore you get so many options of how to use them! I also recommend getting one of the Bridge Battle sets. The battle arena adds a great Robot Wars / Battle Bots play element as well.

perhaps you could advance on some of the videos ive seen already, start a race in one video, then post the end of the race in a second video to end the comp and get people to guess the winner in comments on the first. then do a draw from those hat guessed right. itll get people commenting and subscribing hopefully. maybe offer the winning bug and a starter set as prize.

I have about 140 HexBug Nanos now. Many come as part of track sets. Many I have bought on their own. They range in price from about £4 to £8 depending on if they are a basic Nano V1 or a special Transformer Nano. I estimate circa £450 GBP for the Nano V1, V2 and Nitros that I have bought separately to the ones that come as part of sets.

Question, starting area cells have holes in them to put attachments on of course, but how do you get cells with no holes that I see you have?

The older sets do not have the holes. Not so easily available as the newer ones with holes also allow you to take the side walls off and allows you to build bigger open areas. (Check out eBay)

you should lessen the amount of bugs because it takes a long time for them to complete it and there is more of a chance of them causing major holdups in the race

ShadowWolf63 You might be right.. I have been experimenting with the numbers. Compared to 100+ and circa 40, I find that with circa 60 I get a good distribution and the track area is fuller. By reducing the numbers there are less opportunities for a nano to 'solve' the maze. So whilst there is congestion as as well - I kinda need the opportunity for success. It is a balancing act and I am trying different things each time.

Try a different camera angle, as you are obstructing the view too frequently :) Also, with so much background noise a headset mic would be beneficial.

I agree on both points. I have just purchased a new tripod that should allow me to get the camera higher over the table. I am also looking into buying a plug in microphone. Hopefully all of my newer HexBug videos will be easier to see & hear!
