Hexolit 32 Steel Fragmenting Slugs - DDupleks

We demonstrate the 12 gauge DDupleks Dupo 28 and Hexolit 32 expanding slugs. These steel slugs are designed to fragment on impact, creating 7 wound cavities instead of one. We used a diversity of targets to test these on.

I like that Mountain Goat target. The rebar legs are brilliant. They look like they'll resist spalling MUCH better than the tubular steel or 2X4's a lot of other hanging targets use. And if you DID manage to tear up the rebar it would be a piece of cake to replace. Never know what you're going to learn next on Taofledertube.

It amazes that out of all the different loads you have tested, both home made and manufactured the one that seems to have the best performance for the price is standard cheap wax slugs lol. I used to be a big fan of #4 pheasant loads out of a turkey choke for home defense. Simply devastating at close ranges. However the more I see the more impressed I become with wax slugs. Might be new go to.

Guns are really hard to get a permit for, and conceal carrying is prohibited unless you have a special permission from the government to carry a weapon because you feel your life is in danger, however, you can easily get black powder guns

I have a request that might be simple enough to do, if you haven't tried it already. Try a normal wax slug, but put one 36-45 caliber round ball in the front of it. So a normal wax slug with #8 shot or something, then shove a round ball in the end of it. My theory is it will still deliver the weight needed for the impact and the #8 shot will cause the massive expansion. And possibly the round ball will give some added penetration that the wax slugs lack in ballistics gel. They do it with loose shot quite a bit, but I have never seen it tried with a wax slug before. Love your channel by the way. Just spent about two days binge watching most of the videos.

I've been waiting for this for a very long time! Wasn't sure if these were available in the US, and i was preparing to send you some, all the way from Romania :) Beside those two Hexolite 32 and Dupo 28 models, they have some other models: Super Target and Kaviar for precision shooting, and some Monolit slugs in different calibers, weights and powder loads. The Monolit slugs seem to be exactly the same shape as the Hexolit, but they are one solid steel piece instead of the cut one. They are stating that these slugs are best used in overgrown huntig areas, full of brush and trees. I can only hope that in the future you can test some of those slugs :) Anyway, now am am 100% confident of the effect of the Hexolit slugs, will buy them for sure, thanks! Keep up the good work, i am a very big fan, and i think you have one of the best YT channels out there (not only gun related).

Nice to see that the price has come down. I bought some years ago and they were extremely expensive. The Hexolit 32s were $4-5 a round. I don't hunt, but they seem to be up to the task. Great video, as usual. P.S. At some point there were some x-rays shown of actual game taken with them, where you could see that the "petals" did not penetrate as far (maybe 12 - 15"), but the main body penetrated well past that. Not sure if those are still around.
