This is dedicated to D.K.
A big thanks to my friend Patrizio, whose video helped me with some parts I always played wrong: • Hey Baby - Jimi Hendri... I still think he got a better feel in his playing, really delicate and spot on.
Amplitube 3, Uni-V effect on Vibrato mode. Road Worn '60 strat with Pure Vintage '65 pickups.

I mean - the cover is amazing. What gets me though is, seeing them done like this just makes me realise even more what a monumental genius Jimi was. On a different planet, the stuff he was writing - the complexity, the beauty and the vibe. Incredible stuff.

Saigon Agreed. 110% I believe he was the blues rock rhythm and blues version of Bach or Beethoven or Wagner. But that’s just my only, souly, lowly opinion I believe they killed the golden goose that laid the golden egg. ( either outright or allowing him to o.d.). How could a manager or his Recording company do that? Used him. And other recording artists like toilet paper

Hey Greg, it's Greg here. What you're doing here is monumental. I've listened to all of your stuff, and you always impress. Your playing shows the pure genius of Jimi, and anyone with any intellectual honesty can see that Hendrix was, and still is, miles ahead of any guitar player that ever lived. It's not just a matter of taste, it is an objective fact. And, he was only on the scene for 4 years. Thanks, Greg, and keep lifting up the name for all Gregs everywhere.

In fifty years, guitar playing has come a long way since Jimi. There are many very technically proficient guitarists. Django passed years ago, but we still like his stuff. Those of us who love Jimi, particularly because I was a teenager at the time, grow up during Jimi's era. The Vietnam War was going on. I was so fortunate to see Jimi play live twice. He really was unique. But, most of all, his music moves me emotionally like no other. I truly love Jimi's music.

Isaac Mosher i was an avid jimi hendrix fan when i turned around 12/11 ish, i’m 16 now and for three to four years jimi was all i would listen to religiously i have since broadened my taste to multiple artists of the outlaw country movement in the 60’s and 70’s but i’ll forever know that nobody can have the artistic ability of this man along with the improvisation he would put fourth every live show, there will never be anybody like him.

Another gem of a cover. When I watch these I try and imagine how awesome these vids would have looked to the 16-year old me trying to play this stuff in the 70s. I’m under no illusions about the technical challenges of Hendrix’s music and there is a simplicity in his approach but nailing his sound and feel like this is an art in itself and overshadows so many of the boring widdle tests on YT.

When I was in high school I made a song. Just one. A couple months later my older brother brought home a vhs of Rainbow Bridge and Hey Baby was the song I made(you guys know what I mean, same jingle). When I saw Hendrix do it my jaw hit the floor as usual but I couldn't believe it! Me and my hero thought up a similar ditty! I love that song to this day and you did it justice my man! Thank you.

I feel compelled to say something although everyone else has already written something, and all of it is true about Jimi Hendrix's rare, rare talent for touching our souls. But this song, and perhaps only this song, even though it was on an album that was not considered one of his main releases, is perhaps otherworldly. You know, of all the guitarists in the world who were peaking in their time, Jimi Hendrix was moving in the direction that no one else would have ever expected and this song, is something that for all of the AI bullshit of the world we have now, would never have predicted Jimi to write a song like this - to create this melancholy, this reaching out from our souls, grasping, asking for help, asking to be taken, because we know the light and we're not getting it here on Earth. Your cover here has done a very good of holding up the respect I have for Jimi Hendrix. I thank you for that.

Greg Thank you for taking time to video this. Special feeling being able to watch up close the choice of notes Jimi used. And how somebody plays it. Great job. I know this takes time and effort and thinking to do. Weeks, maybe months to do. Thank you for your time and effort. A lot of people don’t appreciate that. I know because I play gospel blues rock guitar in 2 churches. They want to learn 3,4 new songs every week and then do the same thing the next week. Never really polish up anything. I'm particularly struck by the way you capture the timing of Jimi's songs - not just the clever mix of chords and lead which is what makes Jimi's songs so worthwhile to learn. You've taught me a lot of fun things on the guitar. Thank you.
