Steve, I really appreciate your videos. I’ve learned quite a bit about my ‘23 Toyota Corolla Hatchback XSE. I’ve read all the manuals (that took months), but your videos are so much easier to follow. My car will start listening whenever I say Hey anything. My wife has noticed that this microphone is quieter than my old ‘13 Scion tC RS 8.0. She has to turn up the volume in her car to hear me. I’m very happy you also touch in the differences between the models on how the system works. That helps me with future purchases. My only demur is that my older Apple iPods (pre lightning cable) will not connect to the system. That is by design by Toyota. I wish Toyota would publish a list of what devices will connect. Anyway great job on your videos. If I lived in your area, I’d be a customer.

Great tutorial, thanks. Everything works fine from the drivers seat, but the mic on th passenger side doesn’t seem to work. This is on a 2024 Grand Highlander Hybrid, XLE. Any suggestions?

Another comment. You mentioned a microphone on each side of cab. I have those but there is another object behind those mikes, look like microphones but a little bigger. What are those my Toyota dealer didn’t know. Again thanks for the great video.
@TrainerSteveClifford4 ай бұрын
It took checking with our shop foreman, but those are microphones for the active noise cancelling system.

Thanks for the video. I have looked everywhere and even asked my local Toyota dealer. If I say HEY TOYOTA turn my wipers on it does but only for one swipe. I can’t find anything on this for keeping them on longer.
@TrainerSteveClifford4 ай бұрын
So here's the funny thing. I had no idea it would do this. It is NOT in the owner's manual. That is a true Easter egg. I think the only reason it doesn't do more is because the wipers are on a hard switch while other functions are on digital switches. It can do a single pass because that doesn't conflict with the position of the column mounted stalk switch. Good find.

Hi, I gave the voice command like “what is the temperature now” or some other simple commands, I got the error “Network busy. Please try again later”. You know what to fix this? Thanks.

Hey Steve, recently while in android auto, when I play a loud a text or on my Google maps, the voice isn't working. I cant hear what its reading them nor can I hear the directions when it says them. The music will dip lower when I have a turn or exit coming up but it doesn't play the voice. Any suggestions?

Wait so if your phones connected you cant talk to the car anymore? Not even for temperature or radio changing?
@TrainerSteveClifford4 ай бұрын
Yes you can. That talk button is used for both. Press and quickly release and you’re talking to the car… temp and radio stations for instance. Press and hold for three seconds and you’re talking to your phone… Siri or Google assistant

It is possible that your microphone is defective. I’ve seen it before. If you’re confident that you’re speaking clearly and are using a valid command, take it to the dealer
