@@sandrajohnson9926 Nah, prices are dropping on all non essentials. Food, gas, housing, etc all are going up. FYI, the ebike market has been gouging hard since its inception. For instance, the bee cool bike mentioned above has maybe $400 in parts if you were to build your own. It's very low end. That front fork shock is around $30- it's basically a pogo stick, a spring, it has no form of damping like an actual shock on a decent bike/car/motorcycle/etc. A decent entry level air fork is only $150-200. The rear wheel hub drive electric motor is also low-end...quality ebikes use a mid drive motor that attaches to the frame near the pedals. It has mechanical disc brakes that uses a metal cable just like bikes have for 50 years, not hydraulic actuated that have MUCH more stopping power (and entry level hydraulic sets are only $80)

Very good review! Well explained pro & cons. In 2010.. I only needed my helmet once. That moment happened when my head bouncity bounced on a brick street. Twas my first thought.. tg for the helmet. Head felt ok. Being unable to breathe was my next wth. 22 bones fractured ribcage & sternum, plus foot. Yea, moving around for air is when i found my foot was trapped. Tg also for good fitting boots with strong thick sole.. kept foot from worse injuries. Dirt rider goggles are great for street riding. Single cycle accident. My head was in the clouds, dream about to come true. 15-20 mph on a empty brick street downtown Amarillo. Brick rolled under front tire, instantly yanking tire, slammed to pavement, cycle resting on side of the sole of my boot. Kicker is lil bro was put on speaker call so i downplayed injuries. After xrays ER sent me home, bruises contusions. Cuz ER had listened to that call. 5 days later i went back.. bells whistles room.. hard deflated lung + another xray read.. admitted. Always wear cycle gear. I am thankful i was wearing mine, inc gloves.

I may be slightly slower getting going but a person half my weight rides my bike and they only go 22mph.. ALL e bikes have a chip in them that controls the speed and many are set at 22mph even though you can by a chip upgrader that will make it go near 40mph.. 330lbs is NOT a problem at least for sure with my bike... ALSO, I carry an extra battery with me and I have never needed to use it.. But you can carry an extra battery with you too and increase your max miles from say 20 to 40... There don't seem to be many models of folding bikes that have larger wheels---which gear more efficiently (an electric motor may not care, but your legs do). They also make you taller on a road. But I've recently read a detailed comparison and review, tried to find it to share but no luck. I think the one with regular size wheels was a Brampton. However, I'd have to actually use one of the three bikes I already own to consider getting another one!

I have the Explore model from Heybike - the model up from this - 750 watts with a twist throttle, 26x4 fat tires. If you don't like the folding aspect and want something more like a mountain bike, it's for you. It is BIG though, fair warning. Heybike is a good brand though - very solid bikes. There are also more powerful ebikes that are more like enduro or dirt bikes. Very powerful and would be great for someone that has a lot of land - farmers and ranchers, etc. Mid range - good models - pretty much anything from Ariel. Super 73. Their newer competitor - P51 which makes a model called the Bullet that is super cushy with a fantastic suspension. There is something for everyone - just keep in mind if you're a smaller person, most are very large unless they're the folding models.

Ride1Up also makes a couple of smaller framed models. The Lectric XP is also good. They're a bit more stable than the tiny tire bikes and there should be some fold up models there for you to check out if you're sold on that feature.

Probably costs the middle man who sells them maybe $500. BTW- It's not that KZbin doesn't allow links - that's something creators turn off to prevent spam. But what does anyone else know, right? The front fork goes on ebay for over 500. Not sure what brand you're looking at, but it's not the right one lol

@@icestationzebraassociates2460 She's totally right. I looked at the p51 bike and then searched for the fork. Straight from overseas websites the fork is a whopping $189 shipped, or $279 for front fork and rear shock. I've been into mountain biking for 20yrs and electric mountain biking for 5yrs. I know bikes. That p51 is probably only 500 or so to manufacture. Just search the parts on the above listed sites. All of the hub drive bikes are bottom tier vs a modern mid drive design with torque sensor. A 250watt mid drive is like a 750watt hub drive, but better as it has instant torque. Check out Luna cycles mountain bikes or giant or trek or haibike. These are all modern mountain bikes that have mid drive Motors and high quality suspension and brakes.

Heybike makes a model called the Explore that's a step up from this one and definitely more of a mountain bike. Depends on what you want to spend, but as far as weight goes, the battery is usually the biggest culprit and really can't be avoided. I've seen some that are 65-75 pounds but that's probably the lightest you'd get for this kind of bike. I've got the explore and the battery is probably 25-30 lbs. I think it's Zooz that makes more bmx style (lighter, but they have a slimmer frame and regular tires - I don't know as much about that brand but have heard good things. If you have a lot of hills, I'd recommend the Ariel Rider Grizzly (if you don't mind the price - I think they're 2300 or so right now,) but it's dual motor - two at 1000 watts each, dual battery and could probably do what you're looking for as far as range goes. Check out some videos on it - it's a cool model. They also make one called the X class that's just a single motor and battery but has pretty good range.

Small motorcycles with 90 to 125cc 4 stroke motors can at best get 90mpg. 50cc two stoke motors can get up to 100mpg. Although prices for vintage bikes are going way up, sometimes one can find a moped or a motorcycle cheap if they are not running. Usually all that is needed to to clean out the carburetor. Old Honda's are the best choice as these are designed to run on low octane fuel found in third world countries during the 1960-70's.

At a 6'4", 250lb man of muscular build, I've already struggled to try to find an eBike that will fit me, they are often far too small. This looks tiny, so doubt I could comfortably use it.

Check out the Himinway they are beasts but still affordable. I'm 5'8 and my husband is 6' and are perfect for taller people.

This brand also puts out a larger model - seriously - far too large for someone 5'8". Heybike Explore. 26" x 4" fat tires that make the tires more like 28". Large frame. Magicycle also makes a big cruiser - looks just like the himiway, if I recall. They were having some supply issues earlier this year but they might have straightened that out now. Or not lol. Have you tried a local bike shop? They may have models of ebikes to try and could give you some other suggestions.

Adjust the grips down - that way you have normal grip until downhill ;) I have similar ones on my mountain bike ;) Will you review Trek bikes?? I love them :)

What state are you in bud? Seems like a place with good lane. I see Rhode Island reds or some sort of chickens wandering. I’ve got some and olive eggers but on small residential. Looking to buy land and looking for places with great land.

I had a guy tell me that tires are expensive 100.00 a piece. You can wear out a pair of tires on it in a year.

I've thgt abt an e bike, for close runs to the store etc. My concern is going in the store and coming out the bike being stolen. The other thgt is having to get 2 so one person can go in the store while the other sits outside and guards the e bike.

How about a 3 wheeler for those of us who might have balance problems? I would appreciate a review on one of those. Also you mention back problems. That could be an issue?
@pilotwhale2 жыл бұрын
Three wheelers are less stable, and with a bad balance would be a risk at higher speeds. You going slow, get a 3 wheel. These bikes go faster than you think.

We have ebikes and really like them although we got them a few years back when they first came out. Ebikes have generally come down in price. They are Pedego. The bike you have looks like the handlebars are too narrow and too straight.

I didn't like that design, either - too much like a scooter and not a bike. They've come a long way though and I really like what some of the American manufacturers are doing. More classic designs and streamlining. Better components. Batteries that won't burn your house down lol. Lots of improvement over the last few years.

Thank you, I've been looking for an ebike, I would need more power also.
@icestationzebraassociates24602 жыл бұрын
This brand makes a bigger bike called the Explore (I have it - decent power at 750 watts and much larger bike) Otherwise, you could check out Ariel rider, Super 73, etc. They both make good models that are more powerful than this one. The Grizzly has two 1000 watt motors (!) and two batteries. Super 73 RX has full suspension, like the grizzly but just one motor, same as the Ariel X Class. There are some amazing bikes out there. If you really want to go full dirt bike and spend some cash, there's a model called the Sur Ron that will go neck and neck with regular dirt bikes. There are also a couple of American manufacturers (very cool bikes, and custom, but expensive) if you look for them.

In a city, I can't see the application. Sure, I could ride it to a store but then what? Can't leave it outside. We have bike trails here but I don't think motorized anything is allowed on them. They look fun, but for 1300.00 I would need to see a broader us for this novelty.

30 miles to town and 30 miles back and the capability to bring a couple packages back from town without running out of battery power. What ebike battery power do I need?
@keng5282 жыл бұрын
I have good news...the battery gets recharged as you pedal...yes It becomes a generator... Ok so uhaul is 12 miles away...I pedal half a mile then the bike does the next half....yep....my 350 watt bike went 12 miles but has a range of 4 at best...🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠Florida roads have no hills so this won't work as well for other areas
