@@kansas8152 I'm sure that's not what the law is actually called. She probably means there are protocols, so for example in this story it would be against rules to do what he did- make an example of a student by pointing them out to the rest of the class and making remarks like "if you want to dress like Olivia here," in effect, embarrassing them. I highly doubt it would be upheld if a teacher appropriately reprimanded a student privately and the student decided to claim it embarrassed them.

thank you for being an ally. survivors of harassment/sexual assault are silenced, punished for speaking up and doing something about the abuse. our justice system isnt set up to help us(survivors). Most times we arent believed and when we are pursuing charges it ends up in us being punished and retraumatized. i hope that people can understand that speaking up for survivors can a lot times put us in more danger. So don't just put it on us to speak, if this type of abuse angers you go after the systems that perpetuate our silence and punishing us for speaking out. demand that our justice systems watches out for us. I had tig ol bitties when I was in school, I felt uncomfortable because they bounced everywhere in gym class. I wore big t shirts all throughout the school year, even til this day I get uncomfortable if they bounced or move. 🥺 I still cover them because I get scared someone will stare at them.

if a gym teacher said that in gym i don't care who they are anymore, i'd legit scream my lungs out at them.

In situations like this, you find out if you're a fight or flight type of person. Sadly, not everyone feels like they can do anything because they feel powerless.
