I think as we mature we think our old makeup was worse than it actually was (ofc in some cases it probably was terrible but gotta start somewhere!) I started wearing makeup at age 11 in 1994 and plums, wine,and browns were really popular lip colors as well as matte foundation, overly plucked thin arched eyebrows, and colorful mascaras like blue,green etc..Well i took all this and ran with it. Dark brown/purple lipstick, caked on foundation and powder, barely existent eyebrows and blue mascara. To top it off I wore too much liquid eyeliner and the wrong shade of under eye coverup. As a result pictures of 11yr old me make me look like a child prostitute. To make matters worse my mom had started letting me lighten my dark hair and I was trying to go from black to platinum blonde by just putting blonde dye on my hair (i didn't know about bleaching yet) and my hair was this weird shade of orange. My mom would try and show me how to apply and tone down the makeup but nooo , apparently I knew better than her. Thankfully by 12/13 I got the hang of it and discovered the wonders of hair bleach but I want to burn all photos of me from age 11. I look back at all my makeup styles from 1994 till now and despite some questionable choices (my goth phase in 1996 being another bad one) I can see that for the most part my makeup style was fine for the time period and we look back and cringe at stuff because of how trends change. I know in 10 years some 20yr old will be talking about how terrible their makeup was in 2019, lol

Hi Shannon this is a bit of a random comment but I just wanted to say I saw your tweets about Levi and you sticking up for your boys. I think it's amazing how you called him your child. I honestly do! Not many people from our young generation would take responsibility for their biological children and the fact you take care of, stand up for and protect Levi shows you are a true parent. HeyThereImShannon alexa is good I love her for wig storing tips and care but I wouldn't recommemd if you want your wigs to look natural she is more for cosplay looks. A few youtubers I'd recommend is, beautybydiamond , Alyssa forever, ashleydbeatuy ( her channel is all about wigs) and peakmill, yes these are all women of color but they slay thier wigs and these women wear wigs every single day so I learned allot from them trust me they'll help you out and help you find cheaper alternatives for wigs bc you dont have to spend a shit ton to slay gurl, and some good wig sites are wigtypes, sistawigs, and divawigs, and wowafrican.com , fridaynighthair, RPG show and myfirstwig, hope these help you out. And ik i ruined my first three wigs trying to pluck the lace but I watched how to expertly do it. ( while i was learning I used a wig with bangs until I got the hang of making my hair line look natural. ) if youtube "how to make lace front wigs look natural" you may discover more helpful vids best of luck girl I love you and I'd be happy to help if you need more tips 😊

I started wearing makeup in the fourth grade, but just light shades and mascara. But then after 5th grade I became homeschooled and that's when the emo train hit me. Heavy black eyeliner and mascara. No shadow, no foundation, just those to. Which honestly wouldn't have looked so bad if I didn't put so damn much. After the summer, I started watching makeup tutorials on KZbin, and learned what I was doing wrong. That's also when I discovered foundation light enough for me and a black jumbo liner. Which didn't look to bad, but could have been way better. Now I use that, plus shadows and blood red lips sticks (I used to bc of ghost town to 😂) Mostly today I wear blended smokey eyes and only lipstick everyone in a while.

First time I wore makeup, I wore foundation just like you did, but 10x darker. I made a ring around my eyes. tracing it's exact shape and occasionally drawing it into a weird curved wing. Wow, I go to an Australian private school so strict uniform with tie and all so I couldn't wear makeup... When I was 11 I began wearing makeup (not to school because not allowed) but I started because I got really bad pimples all over my face but I was terrible, my foundation was yellow and I had mascara all over my eyes along with red lipstick but once I turned 12 i got better and actually got the shade of foundation correct and it actually looked decent b when I turned 13 (current age) I can do eyeliner but my makeup still looks kinda bad because acne is the fking worst :) I'm almost 14 and I'm like praying it will go away asap because I have had Pimples since I was 10 and just now I'm 8th grade the kids are getting 1 or 2 popping up while im here with acne! Fun

Yeah it's not fun, I've had acne since that age too and I'm now 15. But a tip to help you out, I discovered the lush coalface soap which is an absolute miracle worker. So if you live near a lush shop, I'd give it a try. I've been using it for about 2 weeks and it's cleared up the majority of my acne
