all i can think of reading this is the line "hell is a place, and places can be conquered" while imagining the entrance of the demons is them arriving in the middle of a battlefield and every human on the field simply looks at each other, shrugs, and turns their weapons on the demons as someone starts playing the doom soundtrack.

I had made plans to go to Hell with my mom the year she died. Sadly, we did not get to do that. I went with my little brother and his wife. So, we went to Hell's kitchen, Tbe Screams Ice Cream Parlor, an d the Dam Site Inn. Hell is a very small place, and is worth visiting so long as you don't expect too much.

@@ragnorockcookie2868 The only game I can recall off the top of my head that comes close is Afterlife, but in that PC game you are basically playing SimCity but with Hell and Heaven simultaneously; providing various rewards for the virtuous and poetic (and sometimes funny) punishments for the wicked.

"The most abusive of the gods" Yeah, sure. This was clearly written by someone lacking in traditional education, as the greek, norse and roman gods are way, waaaaaaaaay worse. How about poor Medusa, priestess of the goddess of beauty? She was so beautiful that everyone agreed she was more beautiful than her goddess, but the other gods thought it was totally on purpose and just congratulated Aphrodite, making her even more pissed off. Finally, Poseidon RAPES Medusa in Aphrodite's main temple, and then... I imagine that when poor Medusa, tears running down her face, freshly raped, clothes torn, sore and bruised, saw her goddess appear and thought 'my goddess has come to save me!', not for a moment expecting her goddess would say "How dare you have sex in my temple! As punishment, I will turn you into a monster!" I can only imagine Medusa going "wut?" Most abusive of the gods, indeed. Pffft

I'm the dude who wrote that one. 1. It wasn't Aphrodite. It was Athena, who by many accounts blessed Medusa with no longer being a target of male/godly predation, but also the ability to defend herself with a glance from literally anything. Athena, the Goddess of wisdom and battle strategy, knowing that she couldn't do anything to Poseidon, gave out a punishment, that seemed a fitting act by a god, that while being solely on Medusa, empowered her, protected her, and effectively only punished Poseidon, who loved her for her beauty (now turned hideous), all in a way that to all but the most observant , looked like just another angry deity moment so as to not cause a scene. 2. Besides, all those Pantheons had gods that you exchanged favours with. You didn't love them, you bargained with them. The whole concept of saying "My god is good and perfect and the source of everything good in the world" was an Abrahamic thing, which, if the text was written by a god, would make them severely egotistic. 3. Old testament Yaweh is a colossally childish egomaniacal sadist of the highest order, with practically no morals or anything resembling goodness. Looking at the old Bible objectively, the god in that takes incredible delight in psychological torture and manipulation, sadism, demanding ridiculous things from everyone, even those that had never heard of it, and basically validates it all by saying "Watch your puny mortal mouth, human, and just do as I tell you like a good little sheep. I'm literally god," gets up in face "Gotta problem with it? Huh?" and the other dude just goes "No." and goes back to blindly following orders. While by many accounts, Lucifer is actually a pretty good guy, who punishes people who do bad things (to the best of his ability), encourages people to enjoy life and all its aspects, live for yourself, have self pride, and believing that if god tortures this dude and takes everything from him, he'll be upset. 4. I wrote that entire thing in half an hour at two in the morning, fueled by sleep deprivation, reading a scifi HFY about hellwalking humanity, and the vague recollection of reading hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. I had entirely forgotten I wrote it the next day, only to be reminded by AgroSquerril when they asked if I was all good with them narrating it. 5. It's all made up fiction anyway. Who cares if you got some aspect of whatever wrong. Maybe the dude who wrote the original mythos just got it wrong in his accounts?

I believe you missed the part where the angels said that all other human religions had gods who weren't so hypocritically abusive. The other religions including Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and so on had gods that never claimed to be perfect beings. They were a******s but they never claimed they weren't.
