Ya, though a good story, it's also dumb. If food and livestock os all they needed, just buy what was bread to be livestock. Also, of their primarily herbivores, then buy all the beans we have. Like serously, we will throw it at them for just a little bit of advanced tech.

We would not even need to detect it through Gravity. Fact is we would be able to detect it through light occlusion. Simply through the fact that an asteroid of that size would occlude light from stars and the like it passes in front of. So we would not even need gravity sensors......
@Sanquinity Жыл бұрын
@muhname6052 yea there's no easy humans would fall for that so easily. The alien were warning is about it. Meaning they knew where it was and how to detect. So our very first response would have been "If we can't detect it but you apparently can, show it to us."

To save your children from a world-ending event, you would believe anything. They came to earth with superior tech and firepower, with the ability to just take our children from our dead hands if they pleased, but they took the diplomatic path. They answered all our questions with reason and understanding, not anger or threats. Makes sense they would have tricked most of the world. Also makes the ending more realistic. Next stop, the xeno home planet with more insecticide…

An excellent story that kept me guessing the whole time! One thought that occurred to me, however, was that if the aliens were so advanced, and understood our history and psychology, then why did they not approach us in a more trustworthy manner? If they knew how we worked and they actually cared about us, then that is how they would have done things. So the fact that they did not approach us in a more acceptable way made me highly suspicious.

If you want my opinion we would have definatly have detected a moonside asteroid coming to Earth and why didn't the aliens just blow up the asteroid up or better than that give human spaceships, In the end a quote of wisdom sounds perfectly at this... And that is "A man who gives up his paranoia dies a horrible death"!
@jorgecarreras42142 жыл бұрын
"better than that give human spaceships?" Er... you do realize that humans are a very, very aggressive species as a whole, yes? It just takes 1 nutjob to "get a sacred revelation" and suddenly, there are large manned murder missiles flying around.

@@jorgecarreras4214 then don't be an idiot and give it to someone who can pass a psyche evaluation. Preferably some astronauts or a science team. Sure humanity as a whole isn't the kindest bunch but I dont think your giving us enough credit. We have been to space already imagine what would happen if a similar team that sent us to the moon could do that but with a advanced ship. But don't you think if it was that easy for people to pilot ships then there would be a lot more pearl harbors and nine elevens. Not to mention the countermeasures that have been made since then.

On the other hand... we actually DO have a real world tech VERY much like what you are asking for. Streams of a, b, or g particles (the radio active bits). Cancer treatments are sometimes done with machines that emit what amounts to a KNIFE made out of a stream of them. So, picture a laser, but instead of being made of light, it's made of "nuke" ... yha, humanity, we made those. just not very useful.
