I had worked in the fuel cell industry for over 4 years. I cannot stress enough that sunlight or any UV light source will detonate a hydrogen and oxygen mixture, especially if it's not 100% humidified. The clear receptacles may allow ultraviolet light to catalyze that mixture to cause an explosion. I am a Chemical Engineer and early in my career we used an Orsat instrument that was based on lighting a fluorescent light which gave off UV light to cause the reaction between oxygen and hydrogen occupying the same clear tube. What you are doing is very, very dangerous. If you are to continue I would stress that no clear receptacles are used and those receptacles are small, opaque. I like that you are an innovator and experimenter but please stay safe.

I think this wasn't an Explosion, the gas tank bursted after you closed the valve. The cell was still producing, so pressure did built in the transparent tank on top of the cell until it bursted. The flashback arrestor could not have prevented the incident. Be careful, a real explosion of this amount of HHO gas inside a container would have sent pieces flying everywhere. Consider safety googles if not already wearing.
@bryanharrison38894 жыл бұрын
HHO gas does not like being under pressure. I think over 2psi HHO becomes very unstable. An easy workaround is to have a low pressure sensor installed in the HHO tank, that automatically shuts off power to the HHO generator cell before it reaches critical psi, and turns back on when the pressure drops below a certain point. This also allows the cell to cool, and also uses less energy, which makes the cell more efficient.

His "HHO cell" is completely open to the atmosphere (meaning if there WAS any HHO being produced it would have just floated away) and his "HHO valve" was turned completely off. And when the thing blew up, it left no scorch marks on the UHMW plastic top cap. It appears to me that overpressure from the compressed-air line feeding the cylinder just shattered the cheap acrylic cylinder he made his "bubbler" out of.
@raypunch9214 жыл бұрын
Better not to make any container storing the hydrogen with so much preassure, just let the generator start when you start your engine, and let the produced hydrogen supply as their fuel as the engine running. Then when you shut down your engine also off your hho generator. So that no producing hyrogen in a pressured container. No explosion, keep safe.

Flash back into the HHO unit when you were re-starting the engine. Valve overlap at slow RPM let ignition/flame travel out of the inlet valve/port into the manifold and on into the HHO unit. Flame front of Hydrogen is hella fast compared to gasoline. Glad your not picking pieces of Perspex out of you groin after that miss-hap.
@erwinconxepts5 жыл бұрын
the solution is a check valve. put a check valve to your bubbler. normally close check valve, when the engine sucks so much air from your bubbler it creates a vacuum effect, this is where the check valve works, it open to suck air from outside to compensate the vacuum so your bubble will not implode.
@sciencoking5 жыл бұрын
I suspect a check valve won't close fast enough because an HHO flame propagates pretty damn fast. A good flameback arrestor can do the job though

So at 18 amps, you're putting in about 2.5kW into the cell. Naturally, this is also the rate of chemical energy being injected into the engine. Now a good sized jeep will have a 75-100kW engine, and that's output power. Basically you need 100 times more gas in order to really run the engine off of HHO alone. You did manage to idle it a bit though, which is impressive!

You made your mistake when you turned of the valve to increase the pressure. That did NOT increase pressure going to the engine. That only increased the pressure inside of your reservoir. When the pressure built up too high it blew out your reservoir. It would have been better to have left the valve wide open. That would actually put a bit of vacuum on the HHO chamber which may actually increase your HHO production. Plus you would not have an explosion from over pressure.

Ok, I paused at 2:07 because I already know what's going to happen. He has no flash back bubbler protection. I cant wait to see what happens next. Ok play....Back to see what happens..... Ill be back for the end result comment.... Yep!!!!!!!! 9:00 exactly! How can this guy seem so intelligent but forget to put flash back protection. What happened for you that don't understand, the gases Hydrogen and Oxygen separate can be stored safely in pressurizes tanks. You have to collect the gas off the positive side and the gases off the negative side separately. I forget if + is oxygen or the other way around but either way if they mix you have a very volatile unsafe potentially deadly situation as the man in this video. I made a small HHO generator and attached it to a 100 foot run of clear flexible tubing with a balloon on the other end. Filled the balloon and carefully removed tubing from generator while closing the tubing with your my thumb and move away from generator. Then just like detonation cord they use in building demo, you then light the end of tubing. What follow is a very fast powerful explosion. The fire speeds through the tubing and blowing up the balloon in a fraction of a second. Seems instantaneous. This happens because of the oxygen present. Two parts Hydrogen One part Oxygen sound like the perfect mixture. Hence H2O (2 Hydrogen molecules and 1 Oxygen separated ). Its amazing to think how much energy is safely configured into the very thing that we would ALL DIE without. H2O baby..... Gas company's know but don't want you to. Also look how little water was on the tank. NOT NEARLY ENOUGH! More room for HHO gas to collect and the bigger the explosion. That dude is luck as hell. Every time he got out of the vehicle I cringed just waiting for it. Had he been standing there he could have been fatally wounded by shrapnel. Be Safe you all!

theres a lot of eyes on you man. i hope you keep at this, its hard to find others doing this. A bubbler to act as an arrestor, or an actual flashback valve needs to be right at the end of the delivery into the engine so if you have a flashback, gas delivery resumes almost instantly so the engine doesn't lose power. Also consider multiple bubblers instead of big ones, because if you'd been standing next to that, you'd be hurt. Don't bolt the bubbler's lids down.. you want to purposely create weak points so if it explodes, it just pops the lids off, instead of rupturing. I hope you figure this all out. If you try to bottle this stuff under pressure you have to separate the hydrogen and oxygen first, and don't use bottles labeled for CO2 because those are the end of life recycled bottles. I really hope you get this worked out, I've got a system I want to create but can't find anyone whose done long-term engine tests. I'd love to see someone do a long term idle test with a small motor thats easy to disassemble and do a before and after inspection to see if it's harming the motor. the only fear i have is that with boxer motors this might cause water to seep into the motor oil. hence why id love to see like a 6 hour idle test on fresh oil with like a weed wacker motor and see what it all looks like afterwards. cheers

There is many wrong things. You should have a variable flow hidrogen generator. Connected to a container/reservoir to get a secure presurised volume of gas. Connected to that you should have an anti backfire protection valve( or two) and then a hose with a valve controlled with thw vacum of the engine. The gas shluld be inyected before the butterfly. So here's my guess. He turned off the injectors and car ran lean and backfired through the intake , traveled through the hose which went strait through into the generator and not into a flashback protection system like a bubbler, I've had cars run lean and pop intake hoses and stuff off if it runs super rich the fuel,in the cat ignites and backfires out the exhaust .
@johnathansmith38196 жыл бұрын
My suggestion, Okki: 1} get yourself a pressure regulator; install it after the close valve on the H2 vessel, and adjust to sort of the same pressure the fuel injectors are (I believe 15 to 20 psi), even a bit lower, just in case, so it will not explode... 2} run the H2 hose through a water bottle, with the intake INTO the water, to be picked up by the hose going to the vacuum line in the engine AFTER the water. This will operate as an arrester for any ignition or spark coming from the engine. 3} you can run the water with the brown gas through a filter and replenishment, with new distilled water, if possible. Keep trying. Thanks for video. Wear eye protection, too.

You can also incorparate a pressure relieve valve, that exaust to the out side of the vehicle, but this would be a waste of energy, Thus step down your HHO gas production by activating your plates in different stages. I noticed the other water container that has yellowish liquid in it had a big hole after the explosion. Also the container in which you connected the intake hose, that container is completely gone. You should have three bottles with bottome entry, top exit, bottom entry top exit to second, and in each state between the two botols you should have put a fire arrestor it is like oneway valve. When you ignite the hydrogen it the flash goes back to the contair and explodes it. That is why you must put a flame arrestor to avoid such explosion. I am glad to see that no harm was done anyway. Don't stop researching. Think of a way to avoid flashbacks. Use a tubular cell with a separator wall (which can be a PVC pipe) so that the small oxygen impurity in the production is removed and the gas is not so explosive anymore. Then do use a bubbler or two, for more safety. Adjust the engine timing and mixture so it runs cool and there is no knocking. Last but not least think of mixing in a third gas or liquid (like water mist) which retards the inflammability of hydrogen just a little bit.

No! You guys still don’t understand it! HHO ignites on compression. This explosion most certainly wasn’t due to flashback but due to pressure build up. A flashback is very likely to occur on a gasoline engine, because the HHO gas is so very flammable due to oxygen already mixed in with the hydrogen. So unless you have high volume and pressure, this will happen 9 out of 10 times. If you leave the motor running on regular fuel and add some hydrogen and oxygen to the intake, it should be fine. However, a check valve and flash arrestor are a must. Thank you very much for the demonstration, glad you are o.k. ;)

I would say failure is good, on your way to success, but, what if the wife was standing there? Too clumbsy, hho is serious, you should be too. Check valves, and secure box around dry cell and tank. Die inventing, not proving something billions have been spent to perfect. It does work, but takes more energy than you will produce..an engine intake has to be able to vary the flow, i would suggest add a solar panel and produce accordingly to your available power..adjust the timing and add the water spray. Good luck man.be safe.

Dude I've watched like 3 videos on HHO injection and even I know you need a flashback arrestor. How did you build this and run it into your car without learning anything about doing it safely?
@GadgetNuttTech5 жыл бұрын
It blasted a hole in the cylinder next to it. Your shouldn't be doing any HHO at that pressure and quantity without proper safety consideration.

You must have spent a good deal of money and effort on that device. You could have used that to maintain your car so it wouldn't have all that lifter tick. When was the last time you checked/changed the motor oil? It sounds like it's falling apart from neglect-related damage.

How do you know it is from "neglect"? That's quite an Assumption,, Interesting!! Perhaps it has 100,000 mi or 200,000 km.

Good job, you have come a long way, I really like what you did, I also did some generators but much smaller ones, I make them out of passion for hydrogen in my free time. What you did is very impressive, I also have a lot in my head but I don't have much time. I really like it, good video👍🏼❤️

The main problem is PRESSURE. Don´t play with it. You had too much pressure than needed.

Ah consider a blow out cap! Basically it’s a purposeful weak point on top of the glass enclosure of the water solution. That way, when PSI is too high, the cap will blow out instead of the enclosure.
@beckwerks3 жыл бұрын
I have an old stainless steel fire extinguisher I use for hho and I have it set up with a plastic cup as the cap specifically for that. It backfired once and the cup blew off as I expected. Never did find the cup though lol.

Your error was in that you did not count the internal pressure of the gas in cylindrical container tube when you have decreased the pressure that goes to the vehicle. I am happy that nothing happened to you and others in the end.

He’s faking it I heard a second click he blew the tank apart, that’s the exact reason why you always want a flashback arrestor in place what happened was he had a backfire flames went through the hose and blew the tank apart
@tomyck35736 жыл бұрын
I made same mistake once with an water heater.. NEVER regulate flow with an ball valve.. even small impurities block the system without warning and everything explodes. You need a pressure regulator how works with a spring and a ball. Research about it. Good look and God bless you!
@jclevey38066 жыл бұрын
Tomy ck it wouldn't have mattered. You can't shut off the car without shutting of the system too. It causes the engine's cylinders fill and back up the rest of the system. HHO on cars can be very dangerous for that exact reason.
@captainfragger62954 жыл бұрын
Maybe you should leave this type of stuff to other people that know what they're doing. For one you didn't have a spark arrestor on your line. You're lucky you didn't get hurt. 2. You're doing it on the wrong kind of engine. That engine is too advanced for this kind of stuff. The computer's not going to take it to well. You should try a lawn mower engine or something like that. These things are good at getting you better mileage but not so good on being a primary fuel source. Also you need to pay attention to what you're doing and not build up pressure like that. I can think of a dozen different ways to build up pressure without putting the stress on the actual generator compartment. It blew up for a couple of reasons. When you had too much pressure because you were not paying attention. But the main reason is your fluid became too low the plates were exposed and a spark ignited the hydrogen oxygen mixture in the tank that was forced down onto the plates.

@Josstech985 жыл бұрын
Good work but use a flashback arrestor. You are using about 4kw and that is quite awesome amount of HHO. Also put your gas hose on PCV hose with a T junction and if possible add a solenoid to control amount of gas you let in the intake manifold, you can wire the solenoid with injector wiring since your vehicle is port injected. Add a signal amplifier to the mass airflow sensor to cheat the ECU you have less air going into the intake manifold so that it will reduce injection duty cycle and with that you will save gasoline.
@NekarXenos6 жыл бұрын
HHO is highly combustable. Building pressure will make it explode. You also need to change the timing on your engine because it ignites quicker.

Ollie... A ball valve will only give you back pressure at the loss of flow. You need to upgrade to a flow regulator. Also your device is not designed for pressure applications...
