Moggy here. Thanks for showing my chaos in the last part of this video ! Routing of audio is not good , as you say. I plan to separate the hifi 2ch from my 4ch gear in the future. Last few years have been hard with travelling and home renovations. I need to switch the front 2 channels from 4 to 2 channel and vice versa, ie the Hafler or Marantz preamps need to feed the amps/speakers so some kind of basic switching is needed for the front pair. I forgot to show the actual listening room but it is also in chaos with stuff everywhere so maybe best not to embarrass myself. I have lots of other R2Rs, just acquired an Otari MX7000, a CEPAK and two Revox G36s . I've also got another room with a retro quad system, not finished yet. I repair my gear as best I can. Ex technician/engineer here. I love my analogue, quadraphonic and hi-rez music. Cheers Guido, I watch most of your videos. 😀

Hi Guido, I'm the guy with TELEFUNKEN 😅 the DeVores are not Devore anymore (original ones great, but this one is a different league for my personal taste), because rebuilt also with new crossover, only cabinet size. In the meanwhile several changes happened (vid is 3 month old) 😊... the speakers are outstanding and together with my new AN Meishu Tonmeister Silver Sig, extremely musical for long listening sessions. Love to see all those different setups, keep going everyone, lets share!! Thanks a lot...

Nice video letting us see how others live their life, and audio is their whole life, practically. I particularly like the videos where they have unique looking rooms, with art on the wall and objects that create a really cool and memorable environment. We might not remember what equipment they had, but we remember the room.
@anadialogКүн бұрын
Check out the older videos if you like that aspect…wild rooms and gear!!

I will take a look. Not sure if I have seen all of those videos or how far back they go. I have been experimenting with light shows in my living room as I listen to music, with L.E.D. light show projectors. Usually put out in stores during the holidays, but available on ebay all year round; cheap too & often around $25 to $35. They are all different and their displays do different things. Some definitely put on a greater greater show than others, but most are cool. The rock group The Police is good music to play, with the light show on. Sides 2 of both Synchronicity and Ghost In The Machine give great accompaniment.The amazing jazz fusiinon group Full Moon with Neil Larsen are cool to play with the light show on. Was just playing the album with them sitting/standing on the beach on the cover. Also Pink Floyd, can't forget them and there are quite a few others. Physiologists tell us that when we listen to music, our brain sees colors; so all these moving swirling, morphing colors on the ceiling and walls during music goes together like chocolate chip cookies and milk.They have ones with real lasers that you can program too, but they are costly, and powerful lasers can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. The L.E.D. ones are safer and less costly. It looks like a laser light show on your ceiling and walls coming out of the darkness.

If you are an archeologist next time you come to Israel we should meet, I’ve studied 1st century history here and have a tube system with a clear audio turntable. I also used to work in audio as well, I think we would have a lot to talk about. I agree with your take on audio completely, and I can’t say that for everyone.

@@anadialogthe Galil is a really great place for archeology, I could wax poetically about the heavy Babylonian influence in the sites there from recent immigrants in the first century still evident in places like Migdal. Really cool you excavated in Beitsaida.

I'm the guy with the Q Acoustics Concept 500... I can't move my speakers, because my living room is L shaped and the sitting position can't be moved. Although, I have to say that I get a slightly wider soundstage on the left, even hearing sounds coming from 8 o'clock on some movies. Since then, I've DIYed new speaker cables, following Guido's recommendation: Neotech NES-3001
@anadialogКүн бұрын
I imaged that but at least I anticipated pre less polite enthusiasts! ;-) Thanks for your submission and congrats on the amazing evolution. I wanted to say this but then I forgot!

@@anadialog there's still around 1 metre between the speaker and the wall. The wall close to the speaker is a small cupboard and the front of the speaker is a few centimetres in front of that wall, so not so bad. If the sofa (in front) could be moved to the right, I would have done it. On a different subject: now I understand your obsession with old/archeological reel to reel tapes 😂 (Just kidding... I wanted a recorder, when I was younger)
